First time grower, going with an autoflower for my first grow. After researching for a month I decided on a 3' x 3' x 6' grow tent, with a Viparspectra 600w LED light. For this grow I went with Black Magic Soil from Home Depot, Miracle Grows line of Cannabis soil and Fox Farms Soil Trio for Nutrients. I've got my tent set up in my garage, sitting on a 2" insulation board pad. Inside an exhaust fan, a circulation fan, and a second heat fan for later this fall for colder nights to keep the temp above 65. Started the seeds using the Growers Choice Germination guide, soaked them for 18 hours and the poured them into the paper towel. Two of the three sprouted within 24 hours, and the third popped the next day. Trying to avoid as much shock as possible, I planted the sprouts directly into my 5 gallon pots and put them into the tent with the lights on and raised all the way up. Within 2 days the first two seeds sprouted, with the third following the next day. I left the light on 24 hours for the first week. Great start!

Lowered the lights to 24 inches above the pots, and lightly watered every third day. Installed the ratchet straps for the lights.

Watched and watered this week. Had been lightly watering before this week, first time this week where I gave the pots a full soak, splitting a gallon between the three pots about every three or four days. Plants look green and lush!

Start of the fourth week I added nutrients for the first time. Started with 1/4 the Fox Farm feeding schedule. Plants looking great, very squat and bushy. Was hoping to start some LST this week, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of height to work with yet. I hope to start something on them by the end of the week.

Watered early in the week, and let the soil dry out a little to do some LST. First attempt at LST seemed to go well, broke one side branch which I taped up, we'll see if it survives. Got a lot of the fan leaves out of the way opening up the side branches.

Feed at the Fox Farm recommended full strength rate for the first time. Plants are healthy and growing well. Hopefully my LST training is helping and not setting me back. I've been trying to tuck the larger leaves below the new branches, exposing them to the light, and training them outward.

Lots of growth, and another couple rounds of LST. Still waiting for some pistils to show, but haven't seen any yet. Feeding again from the Fox Farm recommended rate adding the Tiger Bloom this week.

Got some minor leaf burn this week. Only a couple leaves, I thought it might have been from being manhandled during the LST training, but not sure. What do it look like to you?

hi mate.. you’re all cool, the spots didn’t appear because of lst, looks to me like a slight ph issue but nothing to worry about, remove those leaves and you are good ;)

Day 53 since these girls sprouted. Lots of new growth this week, several strong looking side branches, and some newer branches filling in. Leaf burn seems to be minor and insolated to a few leaves. The girls got another round of LST, running out of room to spread these many branches out. Hoping to see some pistils soon!

Finally flowers are sprouting up all over the plants. LST has given me a fairly level canopy, and I've moved the lights to 18 inches from the canopy. Some more minor leaf burn, I checked the PH after watering, ranged from 6.2-5.90 between the three plants. Watered with plain water and tried to flush all the plants, I have been splitting 1 gallon of water between the three plants, with very little runoff. Might have some buildup causing the leaf burn.

Lots of stretch going on, plants all grew a few inches this week. Starting to drink a bit more, taking two gallons of water between the three plants twice a week. Starting to squeeze the 3' x 3' tent. I've been rotating the plants trying to give them even light coverage. Need to do some LST to the leaves to open light penetration up.

More growth this week, buds starting to grow too! Fed them once, and watered once, still had some minor leaf burn going on. Did a little minor LST by pulling down the big fan leaves to expose the lower branches and buds.

Watered with no nutrients this week, still getting a little leaf burn. Did a little bit of LST to even the canopy. Plants are finishing the stretch, one is a little ahead of the other two. Starting to smell a little in the tent. Tent is getting crowded, three plants is definitely the max for my 3' x 3' tent.

Still watering with just water, until the leaf burn disappears. Did a little LST to even the canopy again, and did some leaf trimming to open things up. One plant is a week ahead of the other, buds really starting to fill out on that one, the other two are still stretching.

Week 13. Harvest

Happy Harvest Day!
Rated
8/10
Rated
Took until the end of December before they were ready to harvest. Appeared to be a equal mix of clear, cloudy and amber trichomes when harvested. Ended up with 35 ounces wet of buds, and another 8 ounces of wet trim. The trim dried to 4.5 ounces for butter, and I ended up with 7.5 ounces of bud. Everything is curing now and will be ready in another two or three weeks!--

Grow cycle took much longer than advertised. Started the seeds on September 1, but them in the soil on September 6, and harvested on December 30, for a total of 121 days. No real trouble with the grow outside of some leaf burn. Still two weeks or more away from getting to taste the finished product. The buds dried in the screen have a more grassy smell, while the colas that hung on the stem smell much more skunky. Ended up with about 4 ounces from the screen, and 3.5 ounces of colas, and another 5 ounces of decent trim. I'll be making butter out of the trim this weekend, I'll update when the curing is finished with the tastes and effects.

Hi mate. Always start slow on the nutrients. The maximum dosage as described on the products is only a slight indication. Look at the plant and what she can handle or not. I used plagron nutrients and started with giving 1ml on 1lwater and then build up to half and so on. I only gave the maximum amount for 2 weeks and that's because I didn't had any sign of nutrientburn wich surprised me big time 😁 Every plant reacts different on these handlings. Good grow so far 👍

I had the same issue using fox farm nutrients. My leaf burn was significantly worse than yours and I was able to stop it in it’s tracks by upping the PH to 6.6-6.8 adding 2ml liquid seaweed per gallon to try and get some more growth so I won’t lose any yield and halving the doses of fox farm nutrients recommended on the bottle! My strains are gelato45 x wedding cake Lemon OG White Widow I’m mid flower and they’re smelling and looking much better. Make sure you catch it quick. I lost My first 2 bag seed pants overnight due to ignorance with fox farm nutrients/doses/improper ph and I do not want that to happen to anyone Hope that helps!
the end.
