C4MATIC by Fast Buds attempt #2 seeds 3 and 4. My first try at fast buds I must've really messed things up because neither grew over 5 inches and they started to flower so fast that it just looked weird seeing little baby buds growing on a toothpick stalk. Let's try this again.✌️

The plants are being closely watched with the clip lights and 3 CFL bulbs. I also put plastic cups over them to give a humidity dome environment. They're staying nicely green and have had just a bit of stretching so far.

Been a decent week. Started to put the plants under the LEDs part of the time. I like to be able to keep a close eye on my baby plants so I don't typically keep them in the tent with led's nonstop everyday. Maybe that's why my young the veg plants do so well, because I keep such a close eye on them… I should probably try doing that with my flowering plants and maybe they wouldn't suffer so much. They're growing at a decent rate now and haven't done much stretching since they've gotten their few true leaves. ✌️

This week was a bit disappointing and stressful. The plants went from relatively green and healthy looking to having a large portion of leaves with brown discolored edges and distorted leaves in only 7 days. One thing I need to stop doing is misting my plants to boost humidity. It seems to be causing more spots or problems on top of everything else, either because of chlorine or spraying with lights on. I've had a bad habit of recycling cups to use as for my seedlings. I've been told before that it can cause algae to grow but I had never seen it this bad. From now on I'll cover the outside somehow so the roots aren't getting that light exposure. Plant B also seemed a bit root bound at the bottom, so I guess I let it stay in the cup a little too long to cause that circular root ball. I decided to water that plant with a small dose of hydrogen peroxide water to attempt to kill off some of the algae and give extra oxygen...I've heard that can work. The next day the cup still had algae but much less than before. I decided to test the Biotabs products on plant B. They claim the plants won't need ph'd water just plain tap water and that sounded right up my alley PH'ing is one of my least favorite things. Unfortunately after i had started preparing my pot i noticed the box did not contain a crucial piece, the "orgatrex" which they call their "liquid organic fertilizer ". I had already began to measure and add parts to my soil so I decided to continue in the hope of hearing from Biotabs, but no luck there, so we're winging part of this grow.🤗 Plant A was planted into fox farms happy frog soil with a bit if Xtreme Mykos. I hope the plants leaves will bounce back into green here with the new pots and available nutrients. I'll continue to ph for plant A. ✌️

And so it begins...prior to transplant they were doing relatively well, at least mostly green. Now after their transplant into soil/mykos and soil/biotabs lineup all hell's breaking loose. I ph my water...ive tried letting them live off the soil so as not to burn them but now it seems that perhaps the soil doesn't contain as much as I'd expected, or they're rejecting the transplant. The last photos of the week show the pistils just barely coming in at that top cola. Growing seems to need a bit more consistency and accuracy on my part cause Something's wrong!

WOOF! Someone put a leash on this dog! And someone else hit me with a 2x4 to try to jog my memory on how to grow! Lol This diary is lumped in with my group of unsuccessful, keep screwing up, not giving enough energy to the plants category. Watered Biotabs plant with plain non ph water like instructed....but hmm both plants look equally shitty. Perhaps the lack of the Orgatrex? Who knows. Probably a variety of issues. It's cool...keep moving forward right?👍

Every week seems to he a bit rough. Ive gotten some great advice regarding the bio tabs products and how to use them more effectively. However finding a substitute for the missing orgatrex is proving difficult as I'd like to try keeping to the "organic plant" model. The plants started to flower at a very fast pace and that makes it a bit difficult to fix any leaves that are already damaged. If it weren't for that beautiful purple pheno popping up i might have been tempted to cut my losses and start over. However even though the plants are like two pencils with some buds on them I'm going to try getting them to finish and hopefully at least walk away with a few nice photos. Happy growing everyone thanks for all the tips and advice. ✌️

Poor week for photographs... it gets hard keeping up with a grow that's been so disastrous and exhausting. Even though all the plants should get the same TLC I can't help but slightly neglect ones that are so far gone.. The plants have pretty much topped out at just below a foot high. Their little buds are cute but that's about the extent of anything positive i can say this week. 😁

Wow this last several weeks have been rough! I think that i definitely need to be more mindful that whatevers in the soil nutrient wise it goes a lot faster than I had read. Expecting a soil to feed well for 2+ weeks must not be entirely accurate. Either way, the plants are very scrawny and ugly but they sure have gotten a few very pretty purple/red buds. Which is very exciting because I've never had any buds get this strong of color. Even if the plants yield only 3 bowls it'll be 3 very pretty bowls.🤗

The plants are growing the best they can, with all the early damage I'm amazed they were able to bounce back this much and produce a couple of pretty, sparkly, colorful buds. Their smell is nice but minimal, I don't think they have it in them to really boost out any overwhelming aroma. I'm just happy to have finally seen a pretty red bud and glad this grows almost over. For the sake of checking out potential problems as to why I've had such bad luck with the c4s and other plants recently I had recalibrated my ph pen and found it was off by a point...so most likely the early part of this grow was done above a ph of 7. Along with letting the plants get algae as seedlings and other various screwups certainly did not make for happy plants. The next set of c4s I will try to be more vigilant about ph monitoring, feeding schedules and just try not to screw up so bad. If those plants end up better then ill know it's not wholly my fault.🤗

Happy Harvest Day!

The buds I got from the plants were very beautifully colored, 1 green and 1 purple. It had a nice mellow high and a slightly flowery scent. Growing it hasn't been easy for me...these were seeds 3 and 4 that I've tried and all the plants have been small. I needed to be more proactive on ph and nutrients and perhaps it would've been better; possibly try growing in the final pot with no transplants.

Both plants turned out small and scraggly, but had a few pretty buds..especially the purple one so i decided to let them finish. I had several bumps along the way and the only part that doesn't make sense is that one pot had the Biotabs in it and they supposedly do not require ph-ing so I thought that one would have been a bit better. However the amount of damage i had done before transplant was possibly too great to bounce back from regardless of what system it was using. The buds that came out in the end, all 2.4 grams were very sparkly and had nice color so it wasn't a total loss..just another slap in the face learning grow. Fortunately my newest C4 plants 5/6 are green/healthy/bigger than a foot, so I'm glad to see this set of C4s helped me change some things for the better for the next plants. ✌️

Something wrong when I read to get them acclimated to the intensity... it doesn’t work like this my friend 😊 You must acclimate your light to the size of your plant if I can say this like that lol 😂 Google this word : Photoinhibition And you will understand how the lights works in the photosynthesis equation 😉

Experimentgreencommented5 years ago
@JUNGLE_B4RNS, ok, i like that, thanks for breaking it down for me... i need that right now . So I had the lead grower of a cultivation place here in town reach out to me and he was mentioning doing some studies with led's and finding that their nutritional requirements when up for magnesium calcium and potassium… I don't know if it's true for all plants, But the Mephisto that I just grew their nutrient requirements definitely went up it seemed like after going in to the tent. 🤔

@Experimentgreen, yes too much light can damage your plant. Yes adjust the light height or intensity accordingly. The connection is simple, magnesium is the central molecule in the chlorophyll ion and gets used up during the photosynthesis process that is powered by the light 😉

Hey you! Long time and stumbled on to this. Tough deal u Got here but sounds like you’ve already identified your issues. Root binding and/or algae growth on an Auto is never a good thing so def. could still be creating issues. That said and IMO - I think you’re problem could actually be. A lack of the proper nutes at the right time. Biotabs are time released nutes and really should already have 5 weeks in the medium when you’re plant hits this stage of growth. I noticed that same issue trying to add biotabs late on some purple haze I just harvested - had to correct it with a synthetic in order to rectify it and get the plant some much needed nitrogen (which is what you need right now if this isn’t a root issue). This is why I prefer to start autos directly in final containers now - so finicky sometimes. I’m running a biotabs grow now too so def. worth a follow dude - taggn along for the ride and hope alls well👍😎🤘

@Experimentgreen, LOL! I wasn’t gonna mention it but I noticed that too. I got the silica as well and the manual that came in the package leaves out the orgatrex but the one online includes it??? I guess the silica is swapped in its place or something. The only other mention of orgatrex in the manual is for brewing compost tea.🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
Experimentgreen
Experimentgreencommented5 years ago
@TheBudWhisperer, instead of the orgatrex i ended up getting a silica type product..which is great silicas an important thing but i thought it said to water with the orgatrex like the 3rd week after planting? I looked up the english manual on their website..and I'm reading soak initial pot with orgatrex and bactrex and then again at week 5. Hmm i can't find the paperwork that came in the box.

Lack of nitrogen
Experimentgreen
Experimentgreencommented5 years ago
@Bakeryguy420, I have a bad habit of thinking that fresh soil has more nutrients than it actually does...same with water, I always assumed that tap water had enough calmag and it definitely does not...at least not here anyway.✌️

I had same thing with certain strains from fast buds blackberry/crystal meth/lsd they had defects I tend to stick to the green strains now for higher quality and bigger yeilds although currently I have 10 pink lemonade that I hope dont let me down 😑😂
