Girls are looking good this week. Trichomes really came in and smell is really nice right now.
The water changes worked well I think. The plants look like their focusing more on flower now. Weather has also been good the last week with some sunshine which could be the other reason flower development started to take off again.
After paying more attention to the PPM, which didn't drop much in the last week. I wanted to go light on the nutrient this week. More rain is expected in the coming week, starting tonight. I don't want to stress the plants at this point with too much nutrient, and I've already spiked a ton of nutrient in them over this grow period. There's an argument to be made with how much nutrient I'm pouring into these off season plants that won't have as large of a harvest as something grown through summer. So I think from this point on I won't be adding much nutrient.
I'm guessing I have about 4 more weeks of flower before harvest. Maybe a bit less. So going easy on nutrient for the next two weeks, then ripening with a fresh water change for a week before harvest.
Also, at this point I'm sort of regretting topping these, probably would have been better for a winter outdoor crop not to top them. Very compact plants overall. But the bud sites are developing nicely so I'm not to worried about the missed opportunity.
I labeled my pictures this week too, I noticed other growers label them which is probably good practice.
P1 is the indica looking plant
P2 is the smallest that naturally grew into a v shape
P3 is the largest plant and looks like a sativa
@KratkyGrow, good observation. I'll keep this in mind next time that I'll pop seeds. Was actually thinking about starting the new lot in one set and pick survivors for individual nursing.
Again, good to know. Thanks for sharing.
@Med_in_Tropic,
I know! That was pretty disappointing.
In that batch I don't think I had any stressor conditions that would have made them more likely to be males. (I've read that red light, high heat, fluxing heat, or nutrient overload can all lead to higher rates of males)
I did plant them all out of one tote bin, so the roots got all tangled, not sure if that would do anything or not. But that did help me learn when 7 of the 8 get pulled, and the roots are too tangled to seperate, they just rotted in the bin and created extra worry on my end for the one female. I also think the female developed slowest, and was the smallest plant, maybe because her roots were getting choked out by the males. I wouldn't try planting more than one in a single tote again unless I knew they were all females.
Low vpd - humid low temp - There will be less transpiration. I agree with you that more leaves are better for the plants . Then the can pump more water and nutrients to grow.
