For the most part i feel everything is going fine.
Im still unsure exactly how far to keep my Quantum Board from the seedlings. I keep adjusting it thinking they need more or less light. I have now set them (Day 6) at about 50cm from the tops of the plant and the killawat is reading 90w (out of 160w in total from the wall), so dimmed to about 50-60%. What do you guys think? Should i be able to run it at full power at 24 inch? The lux meter on my phone says theyre getting about 30000 lux. Im worried that i gave them too much light which has stunted the growth as for the past two days i havent seen much growth, maybe im impatient. We'll see.
Possible that i let the coco dry out a bit too much too, so i will ensure i water everyday or every second day to ensure the medium does not dry out.
Haven't fed with any nutes yet, only gave them half strength (20ml per 10L) of Canna Rhizotonic on day 6 to assist the root development. EC = 0.4 and ph set to 5.7-6. I plan to start feeding with Canna A & B from week 2 on wards.
29/10 UPDATE:
Lowered the light to 30cm (12inch) and dimmed the lights to about 25w. Plants seem to like it. Medium is still moist. Will water tomorrow with nutes as it is start of week 2.
getting new lights is always like..... how far the lights away from the seeedlings. Normally light companies give recommendations. as iam growing with similar lights ( quantum boards), i agree to you if you say, its tricky. And i would do it like... less is more until you found the right distance. I would start with around 80 cm and look how the lil ones respond.
Or you dimm down to 30 watt, then you can go to around 15-20 cm.Its a great tool to dimm the lights. And the seedlings need a quite "weak" light. I most time use my secret jardin led ( each has 26 watt) to rise the little ones. In my Previous grow iam having same problem like you, i have new lights and dont know the accurate distance for the little ones.. So i start with 1 meter distance ( i got 150 watt Quantum board).... and then i look how they grow. if they get to leggy i lower the lights by 10 cm. iam guessing for 65-70 cm would be the optimal distance for my Girls in seedlingsstage. If they are 3 week old i go with the recommended distance from the lightcompany.
30/10 - Day 8 - Start of week 2
Will be starting to feed with the Canna range this week going forward. I wont be using cannazym for now as im not sure how necessary it is. Might get some when i make my order for the boost and PK 13/14 additives.
Anyway, i mixed up 15ml each of A & B into 10L along with 20ml of Rhizotonic. The EC settled at about 1.185 which is too hot for my seedlings at the moment. So i mixed in about 5L of bottled water into 5L of the nutrient mix. This brought the EC down to about 0.75 - i then ph'ed to 6.05 (to allow for calcium to be absorbed). I gave this solution last night before lights out (day 7), i will be feeding once a day from now on. So i wont require much water as the medium will remain saturated for the most part. Im hoping to only need about 500-600ml per plant to achieve runoff of 5-10%.
I will increase the EC slightly to about 0.85-0.9 for tonight's feeding.
31/10 - Day 9
The plants began to fade into a lighter green, so I think watering every day was not ideal at the moment while plants aren't 100%. Today I will let the container dry out a bit and water tomorrow night.
01/11 - Day 10
Waking up this morning, see good growth, still behind for day 10. But hopefully good root development so far.
The cookies had a bit of nutrient burn on her leaf tips, the other two plants did not. Need to remember which plants had the higher run off.
I will mix a weaker solution for tonight. maybe drop down to about 0.7 again. Instead of watering down the EC, the batch i mix up tonight will most likely only use 7.5ml of Canna Coco A & B per 10L rather than 15ml.
For me the SD is looking the best and ahead of the rest.
I have also raised the light to 65cm and bumped up the power to keep the tent slightly warmer. Ensure the lumens were still sufficient at about 15 000
Watered in them in the evening. Only ended up using 5ml of A an dB per 10L as the EC goes up quite quick with these. Plus the cookies wasnt too happy with the increased strength nutrient mix so for now will keep them growing on minimal nutes, been using half strength rhizotonic, doiing good for the roots. I will progressively increase the EC over the next few feeds in the coming week or so until i hit about 1.4-.1.6 .
02/11 - Day 11
Plants are looking happy finally. Leaves were praying up to the light last night. Watered them each with about 650ml today - im reluctant to water every 2nd day as the run off EC is a bit high (0.3 higher than inflow) so want to keep up the frequency of watering. Think they will grow faster for it too now that they seem developed below the ground. 650ml gave me 400ml runoff, so could definitely even use less per day per plant for now. PH was

Once again the Sour Diesel seems to be growing at the quickest rate.
05/11 - Day 14
Not much to report, Plants are growing at good speed and new growth looks healthy. Start of week 3 tomorrow - will be upping the nutrients.

06/11 - Day 15
Upping the nutrients this week. Going to jump up by about 0.375 EC, might burn them a little but lets see if they can handle it. Theyre getting big now :) Comments? Is it too much of a jump?
09/11 - Day 18
Mixed another 10L of mix. Plants are enjoying the extra nutrients as well as the stronger LED light - we are now 65cm above the canopy with about 120w being pulled from the wall (roughly 75-80%)
Healthy growth. No signs of deficiencies.
10/11 - Day 19
Plants are now wider than the pots, still very squat. Feeding once a day in the evenings. Considering watering twice a day from day 20 on wards.
Need to get some more growth so the plants have a good foundation for big buds! But this is all a work in progress. Mistakes were made and plants are smaller compared to other grows im seeing but each grow will get better and i still think these plants have good potential. I want to bend them over tomorrow to get the smaller internodal shoots growing to the light. The plants are quite compact and have tight internodal spacing.
Day 25 - 11/16
Plants growing well, been tying them down but maybe started a bit late, the stems are quite thick. Anyhow got a couple lower shoots coming up for each plant. NL is drinking the most and growing the quickest it seems. Pot is always the lightest when i water.
Last feed was 2 days ago, going to give a good soak now and also measure runoff to see if any salts have built up. Run off is slightly below the EC i put in now. Which is expected as previous feed was 1.35 and this feed was 1.5. Only the runoff of the Cookies was quite high, she is drinking the least too.
Can see preflowers after looking properly, no pistils though.
Used some garden wire and really tied them down now, looking much better, should be a good foundation for a bunch of tops. Strong 160w Quantum Board in a 2x2ft tent, hopefully some dense buds!
As these are auto's and i want to stress them as little as possible. Should i or should i not take off the really big fan leaves that are covering at least 2 or 3 potential tops. I know the leaf is doing a good job being there but i also am not really able to tuck the leaf?

Yes is possible it's defolliation technique
Defoliation involves strategically removing leaves from growing cannabis plants to locate resin production and improve yields at harvest time. Heading or topping, mainlining and lollipopping, schwazzing are well known applications of defoliation. Even cleaning by removing yellowing or damaged leaves is a form of defoliation
When you decide to defoliate, the choice of applied technique is yours. Each one increases the yield in a similar way, only the silhouette of the plants differs. Factors to consider are genetics, volume of culture space and light intensity.
Defoliation in general can be used on non-trellised plants to increase light penetration and airflow, rather than using any specific technique. Leaves that interfere with light penetration are removed during the life of the plant at the choice of the grower. Even during flowering. Cannabis flowers are incredibly effective for photosynthesis and will recover soon after defoliation.
It's a magical art to manage the ratio of defoliation to the need for perspiration. Too much of it over-fertilizes your plants, exposing them to nutrient stress. When too many leaves are removed and the effectiveness of transpiration is interrupted, nutrients can accumulate in the root zone, causing a burn or blockage of nutrient absorption. The nutrient dosage should be adjusted to match the less demanding plants until they have recovered. The experience will eventually give you the right measure of the volume of greenery in the growing space.

25/11 - Day 34
Good progress, flowers starting to develop. Will need a dehumidifier soon as RH is about 60-65%.
Pistils starting to shoot out of the tops slowly.
27/11 - Day 36
Girls are getting bushier everyday. Harder to LST asa there is no space. Starting to defol the leaves blocking many potential bud sites. Not too much leaf stripping but took off a couple.
Considering a scrog net, more to direct tops into seperate areas and also to act as a support for later in flower.
Plan is to buy a wet vac so i can just suck up any run off and that way i can leave the ladies in the tent. Will go well with a scrog.
Stuck to 1.6 EC for now, bit of nutrient burn on all three plants so just upped the Boost a little.
Light is about 45cm above the canopy, running at about 85%. Also got a oscillating fan clipped to the corner too move air around better. Also bought a dehumidifier to lower humidity as it was getting a bit high (65-70%) now that the ladies are so bushy and are perspiring so much.
30/11 - DAy 39
Dehumidifier doing a good job of reducing moisture. Humidity at about a solid 40% now.
Ladies are definitely filling up the tent, very bushy plants. 3 plants was probably too much for the small area, particularly growing in coco. Next grow will be a single plant, scrogged out. Think its the best way to go in such small tent.
02/12 - Day 41
Took a bunch of leaves off of the 2 bigger girls, improving light penetration and air flow, also to lower humidity a bit too.
Lifted the Cookies girl to make a canopy more level with the others, so she would have to fight for light less with the two bigger girls bullying her around. She has tight nodal spacing so i think shes gonna have some nice dense buds.
Hoping these girls won't stretch too much more but I think they're gonna keep growing for another 2 weeks or so. Maybe the defol will slow her vertical growth a bit.
Gonna have to get my light higher soon too.
04/12 - Day 43
Bought a scrog net, want to spread the plants a bit into any free area of the tent and also add support. Might tuck the tops a bit just to keep it low. The light cant go much higher and ill have to DIY it to get it higher. The tops of the NL especially look a bit yellow/light green. Im thinking probably light burn. The Cookies has it the least so might be due to the fact that she was always the farthest away.
Looking forward to the next stage where i can almost sit back and relax and watch the buds grow. Excited!
07/12 - Day 46
The stretch is on for the trio. The cookies is behind in flower. Think the few leaves i took off of her didnt sit too good with her. She is now starting to recover a bit. The Sour Diesel is definitely stretching the most. The NL and SD are getting some light burn/bleach from the LED. Not ideal, going to lift the light today, the rope ratchet doesnt go any higher so will have to think of something. Can definitely get another 20cm by doing this.
I have lifted the Cookies pot higher up using polystyrene blocks to level out the canopy. She is the shortest by far. She is probably 20cm shorter, which is ideal for my tent but the other two are pretty big and bushy.
Lots of pictures today. i ended up moving the light way up. I posted pics of it before the light went up and after. I think the spread of light is better now too. Less heat around the tops etc. About 20cm room for vertical growth now so i think ill be fine with the stretch. Added a fan between light and tops and also a fan below the canopy blowing air up. Happy with the set up now.
08/12 -Day 47
Plants are looking good. SD stretched about an inch over night! Happy with the new light position. Cookies is finally budding again after the defoliation stress.
Looks like the SD stretch is slowing down a bit i think, the NL grew a fair amount over night. Think they won't go much higher. Will raise the pots and get them all nice and even.

Gave the ladies a bit of defoliation, clipped a few lower shoots too. The SD and the NL can definitely handle it. SD is further in front, hopefully she will need longer to flower. Plan to harvest all at the same time as i have no drying tent and will use the current tent to dry
18/12 - Day 57
The stretch is real, very lanky and tall, not ideal at all. The result of squeezing three plants into such a small space. All fighting for light and space and stretching is a result of this. Lessons learnt. Otherwise, they're starting to smell good. The cookies is now beginning to throw out trichomes onto surrounding leaves, i imagine the NL will start to soon too. The SD is ahead, followed by the Cookies and then the NL. The NL seems to have slowed down a bit and is now finally throwing pistols all over and stretching too. Im hoping that they have all basically reached their final height, maybe a few centimetres. The tent is basically at its limit in terms of light.
Adding Cannas PK 13/14 this week. Might be a week late but lets see. EC bumped up to about 2.3 for this week. Then will taper off and eventually flush for final week or two. I would say there is still around 4 weeks to go at least. Hopefully they still pack on some weight.
Was getting very bushy so did a bit of defoliation, opened up the canopy more, light definitely penetrating further now and hitting more budsites.
26/12 - Day 64
Cookies and SD going well. NL i think got stressed out from the defol and definitely slowed down, leaves growing in funny ways etc, she is starting to stack now though. But im happy with how the Cookies and SD are going. Very frosty, the SD looks like its packing some weight. The smells coming out of the tent are also very lovely, grew the cookies before and the smell definitely is nostalgic.
Going to do another 3 days of added PK 131/14 and then will do a week of reduced nutritents and then should start with plain water soon.
Breeders say 70-75 days for SD and Cookies, not sure if they will be done in 10 days. No rush though. Will cut it all at once so hoping the NL catches up, she should take less time to flower.
05/01 - Day 75
Going well.
Sour Diesel is super sticky and frosty. Looks like she is going to yield the most. Pistils turning brown now, trichomes are mostly cloudy with clear and a few amber. Lots of frosty popcorn under the canopy too. Will all be smoked regardless! haha
Cookies looks great too. Bit of bleaching on the leaves under the LED but not much i can do about that. She smells great too. Just like the previous cookies strain i grew. Her pistils are also starting to turn brown now but still many white pistils.
NL definitely got stressed out from defoliation (took a bit too much off too quick i think). She is behind and will likely be harvested a bit early as i will cut down all three at the same time due to space limitations. Im hoping that her indica heritage will see her ripen sooner relative to the SD and Cookies. NL still has many white pistils with only a few turning brown. Hard to take pictures of her so not very clear. Once i harvest i will take better photos of her buds.
I have reduced feed to 1.4EC for a week and then i will go plain ph'd water.

08/01 - Day 77
Not much to report. SD and Cookies are nearing completion. NL still quite behind.
3 more days of feed and then ill be watering with tap water. Was thinking of harvesting on 11/01 but i think i will move it another week till the 18th of Jan.
Based on my pictures, what do you guys think of when it will be time to harvest? Id ideally like to harvest at about 90% cloudy/10% amber. Prefer a cerebral high.

Decided to group the harvest together under 1 week. Very pleased with the numbers, my goal was 100g and i have surpassed this by quite some margin, so very happy about that.
The smaller buds that i left off the stems dried in about 3/4 days in the drying rack so i jarred them a up a bit sooner.
The rest of the bud that was left on large stems and hanging, dried for 7 days and was time to jar them.
I weighed everything at this point as they were going into jars.
Final weights are:
NL - TOTAL 61.23g (plus 10g trim)
Harvested her a bit early but she still surprised me with her yield.
Auto Cookies - TOTAL 72.4g (9.5g trim)
Very sticky
Sour Diesel - TOTAL 91.26g (25g trim)
My favourite of the three, super frosty
Grand Total - 224 grams plus trim
