I would also say it's a personal preference when to top. Honestly you can pretty much do whatever you like to your plant as long it is in veg without doing damage, (as long as you don't go all out and kill it :b). Topping and general plant training is all about shaping your plant into a form or structure of your personal preference ๐Ÿ˜‰ I get that some of these things might be a bit hard to grasp if you don't have much experience in growing plants or weed. I wouldn't recommend you to do topping before you have grown out a few plants naturally/LST. Neither would I recommend to top if you depent on the yield of the plant and isn't sure what you are doing, simply just to avoid reducing your yields ๐Ÿ˜Š Personally I don't top before I fell the plant has put out some solid roots and started growing properly, not that you can't do it earlier you just have a risk of hurting the plant to the point of no return ๐Ÿ˜‰

Hi Hotdamnitman Every one likes different times and heights for topping. Some people do it straight after 2 nodes. Other when 5th nod appears. It is really up to you and your plant Growth and Health status. I personally done it on first node whit plant high off 6cm. And it worked great. Done at node 2/3/4 and it always showed great benefits. Best way to decide When to top should be when you feel your girl is Growing vibrantly, quick and healthy. Depends at what high you will do topping if you plan To 1-to save stretch space 2-to train for more bud sites and les popcorn buds. 3-to prepare for Scrog method 4-to achieving better light coverage So is up to you let the plant talk to you and decided to top her depending on your needs. Hope this helps And good luck with your grow.

For the first topping, a good rule of thumb is to cut the plant above the 5th nodeโ€”this will give you enough branches on the bottom for the plant to bush out properly. You can also top the plant above the 3th node.

Its hard to say/ to see anything, if they are in the purple light. i see discoloured leavetips and spreckles on the leaves. Leaves are grwing " weired" but i dont know what// if you feed anything . so to get a better diagnosisi, take a picture in natural light and fill out the schedule for fertilisers

@Mrs_Larimar, I did move my lights up 4 inches. We'll see if that helps.

@Mrs_Larimar, it's an organic expand and grow soil. I don't remember the brand. I've got 3 others going and they look great. Two lemon haze and a random seed I had. And I changed the light in the pic. I hope this helps

Are the leafs always drooping mate or are they up and down, last time I had slow growth and droopy leafs I was overwatering.also is 31 intentional ? I find that too hot, which can also slow growth.
hotdamnitman
hotdamnitmancommented5 years ago
They are up and down. I had just watered that morning, and the temp is all over the place. I don't have good enough ventilation!

At this stage, I use molasses - 2 ml/liter per week. Week 11 - I start to add yoghurt. These increases terpenes and bud weight without interferring wtih branded nutes that you are already giving. Phosphate fish tea and pottassium guano helps. Howecer, you are already adding bloom nutes. This could lead to overdose. I would suggest that you look at Foxfarm feed chart. It will tell you to buy a few more products.

What are you feeding her?
Med_in_Tropic
Med_in_Tropiccommented5 years ago
@hotdamnitman, think soil is much too strong with some hormones promoting stuff. If your plant survive at four weeks, she can continue. This is a testament of how strong GDP is. On feeding during flowering, I recommend that you look for single compost main fertilizer- potassium only. And cal mag additive. Combo fertilizer on top of hot soil may kill her.

@Med_in_Tropic, I hope so. She's looking pretty nice In my opinion and I'd hate to lose her!

@hotdamnitman, soil may be a bit hot. Guess your plant will outgrow this eventually.

@hotdamnitman, I donโ€™t worry about indica stretching. Classic indica is stout. The hybrids that I grow are stretched indica and stretched. Waist I look is that the number of nodes. If each top has about seven pairs of leaves, the I stop begging. My patience limits is around 7 weeks. Beyond this I get the itch. Some people goes for 12 weeks vegging but theSe folk go for 8-16 tops.

hotdamnitmancommented5 years ago
@Med_in_Tropic, oh for sure. I'm just not sure how much longer I want to go. I'm hoping she packs in some hight this week. She's just not stretching at all. Its keeping her short and tight. How tall would you let it get. I've only got about 48" of room for hight (including the bucket).

@Mrs_Larimar, I have tried to remove the old one but for some reason it wont let me. I've tried many times !
Mrs_Larimar
Mrs_Larimarcommented5 years ago
@hotdamnitman,I agree, i would " clean up" one more TIme, she grows very dense and close.... I think takeing away some lower leaves dont hurt her, and if there are leaves who block the light too..... but flowers look quite uncovered so it wont be to many leaves And if you want to start a new question just remove the old one
