These are the gelatos from the halloweed contest. I was going to wait until the new year, but why wait. I’m super excited to see what these girls do!

What nutrients would you recommend for this grow? I still have some @foxfarms combo nutes. This is all about trying everything until I find what’s best for me. We have a massive amount of knowledge on this site, and I trust growers more than anyone. Thanks in advance.

I love the GHE maxigro and maxibloom. They are cheap, simple, hold steady pH, and they are true "stand alone" nutrients. They perform well without any boosters. They work great in soil and hydro.

My soil was hotter than I wanted, so I did a flush. Once the soil dried a bit, I topped them all, and did another light flush. One was stressed pretty good, but she’s recovering now.

I’m afraid I stunted these girls when I topped them. They’re slow grower for now for sure. I even untied the limbs hoping to unstress it a little. Any advise would be appreciated.

What did I do wrong here. These girls are growing slow. They were slow before I topped them, which I know I messed up there. But there’s not much going on. They look healthy just sooo slow growing. Any suggestions on what to do to fix this? Or just wait and see what happens?

hey there, the growth rate is determined by VPD, right now you're in a seaside climate and instead you should be at coastal mountain climate. Reduce temps by a degree or so, humidity you're good but it's okay a few points higher too, reduce your solution temperature to a cool 20 and get the substrate a bit cooler too : something like 22/23. These little shift will really help especially if you put them together. BTW i'm seeing some magnesium issues as well : never grow without cal mag, even in soil ! Hope this helps ! 🚀

The ONE good thing from such a rocky start on this grow, is I’m guessing all the early stress has pushed off flowering a bit. So I took advantage and did some defoliation on her. I’m just now starting to see a couple pistols coming out, so it’s go time now! FINALLY got to feed these girls too. After such a terrible start, it appears everything seems to be lining out finally. Thanks again to the community. You guys really saved my grass on this one! 🙏

These girls are starting to come around real nice. I’m giving them the good stuff now like the Pineapple Express grow. I just started giving the Zeus juice and the calmag a couple days ago. Hopefully we see some real good gains soon. Any advice, please feel free to share!

Everything is still just trucking along now. I added the silica blast for the potassium. I was getting a few signs of being low. That’s clearing up and buds are getting fatter by the day.

Everything seems to keep heading the right direction with these girls. The first plant I started flushing yesterday. The second plant, I’m still feeding. She’s still growing so no sense in forcing it. The trichomes on plant one are starting to whiten and become milky. The smell is really starting to come out from the tent now also. Even with the carbon filter. It’s a sweet smelling, truly unique smell of its own. I can’t wait to try this out.

These girls are coming to a close. The lollipopped one is gonna finish first. Almost all of her trichomes are white and milky. Just waiting on amber to come on, and would like to see some more color loss out of the leaves. They smell absolutely AMAZING!! It’s a sweet smell. Really hard to put a exact scent to it. These are by far the most dense and pretty buds I’ve ever grown. I will definitely be growing this one again soon.

Let me start by saying; THIS DIARY IS WHAT GROW DIARIES IS ALL ABOUT!!! The community helped me on this more than words can express. Too many of you to list off individually, but all of you know who you are and I think you and all the great BOOFERS out there. With that being said. . . . Boy oh boy was this a grow! I had some soil issues in the beginning that led to a little slow growth. Add that with the stress of topping and training, it’s a wonder they grew at all. This was really a “devils in the details” kind of grow. Adding in this and that as we went along following the suggestion of a lot of gray growers on here. No matter what I did or what I screwed up or got right, these girls grew. And they grew nice. Tough as nails and recovered from every battle that came her way. The smell of this gelato is WONDERFUL. It’s a sweet, almost berry-ish smell. I can’t wait for it to dry and cute and try it. I’ll update all of this info when that’s done. Flavor profile and final dry weights and such. The wet weight really surprised me. But figure on losing 75% water weigh, should still end up with 5 or so top shelf weed. These buds are DENSE. Pictures don’t do them justice, though we certainly tried. This is certainly a strain I will be growing again in the very near future. Doing it right from start to end will be amazing. If you haven’t grown this yet, do it. Do it now! Just a beautiful bud, with wonderful scents. I imagine the taste will be nothing less than amazing. So, until the next update, enjoy our other diaries. We’re trying to do better. No more purple tent photos. We lost a lot of good vegetation pictures due to poor quality. Always room to improve! Hope you enjoyed!

hey man , start using a chelation agent like humic acid your plants will start beasting (btw you can start using that humic acid early on too)
CRiSPrGrow
CRiSPrGrowcommented5 years ago
@WildeWeed, you need three things : NPK + calmag (micro) + chelation agent (eg. humic acid) the last two start early on and remain constant, the NPK ratios change over time. three things, not infinity things 😉
WildeWeed
WildeWeedcommented5 years ago
@CRiSPrGrow, Oh yet another thing to add. It’s never ending! Lol
CRiSPrGrow
CRiSPrGrowcommentedweek 65 years ago
your main problem is you need to keep the root zone cooler, like 20°C
BeanswithPork
BeanswithPorkcommentedweek 65 years ago
Just keep exercising patience, WildeWeed. You gave the hot soil at the critical stage so it will take longer to bounce back. You also only flushed last week, so it will take a multitude of flushing if its the dry amendment in the soil before you really start to irrigate it out of the soil. Until that happens, things will be slower. Also, having such overwatered soil from the flushing is also going to hold you back for a short time. Keep the water coming until you start to see solid relief and growth explosion. Because of the extra nitrogen you are going to have a bushy monster with tons of excess leaf vegetation. At some point you could consider defoliation to clean things up. Not time to panic, things look fine WildeWeed! 👍🏻

@CRiSPrGrow, Well I’m just in a 2x4 tent. So 3 was my magic number. But if the 4th woulda took, I woulda gave it a good home. I’m starting to learn less is more sometimes.

@WildeWeed, dude just pop another seed if you want another plant, always germinate more than you keep right?
WildeWeed
WildeWeedcommented5 years ago
@CRiSPrGrow, For once timing was on my side. I started 4, however one of the babies never broke soil. So 3 plants this go round.

I'm running a pretty detailed nutrient schedule with details in first weeks of grows, but in hydro. Greenhouse Seed company of Strain Hunters fame has some great nutrient charts on their websites that give weekly suggestions.

I just wanted to add that I find Autos get fert. burn pretty easily. I may fert. Once in veg. at 1/2 strength and maybe 3 times in bloom. Fried my leaves on first auto attempt. I never go more then 1/2 suggested fert. amount.

Autos are like that, they start slow and make you think something is wrong and then ... BOOM ... They start growing and won't stop! Good luck with the rest of your grow my friend.
