This is my first grow. I selected White Widow Autoflowers from ILGM. My grow box is a simple cardboard box lined with mylar, kept in my closet. I plan on getting a 48"x48"x80" grow tent next month, along with all accessories. My light is a 36w LED from Manlong. I hope it is good enough for the first few weeks until I buy a larger LED. 2019-12-09: Germination of seeds 1-2. 2019-12-11: Germination of seeds 3-4. I originally planned on only growing two plants, but the first two seeds were placed in tap water by mistake so seeds 3-4 were planted in PH 6.0 - 6.5 balanced distilled water to germinate. 2019-12-14: Transplanted seeds 1-4 to soil. Added Mykos Pure Mycorrhizal Inoculant to root. 2019-12-18: Germination of seeds 5-8. Plants 3-4 died following transplanting to soil. 2019-21-21: Plant 1 is 1.5 inches tall. Plant 2 is 2.25 inches tall. Transplanted seeds 5-8 to soil. Added Mykos Pure Mycorrhizal Inoculant to root. I now have six plants total.

2019-12-24: Mid-week update before the holiday. Looks like plant 2 is having light burn issues so I moved the light back, it is now 24 inches away from the plants. I'm worried about the strength of the stem, however, as it doesn't seem to be able to support the weight of the leaves very well and wobbles like it might break. Any thoughts, anyone? 2019-12-26: The fan is in place, hopefully it will help strengthen the stems of the plants. Plants 1 & 2 doing well, Plants 5-8 have broken through the soil and are between .25 and .5 inches tall. 2019-12-28: End of week 2. Plants 1 and 2 gained about half an inch in the last week, and lots of foliage. Plants 5 & 6 are struggling, each are less than .5 inches high after 1 week. Plants 7 & 8 are doing well.

2020-01-02: Plants 1 and 2 are really gaining new growth. Topped them both just above the 3rd node and they look fine. Also applying LST. I think this Manlong 36W light isn't giving them enough energy, they look pretty small compared to the other WW auto grows here. I ordered a grow tent, grow light, ventilation system with carbon filter, etc, it should all be here within a week. Here's the setup I bought: Grow Light https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PLYR5HG/ref=psdc_14252941_t2_B07TS82HWB Grow Tent https://www.amazon.com/Ohuhu-Observation-Hydroponic-Gardening-Germination/dp/B07Y57F2LW/ref=zg_bs_3480699011_32?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=EEWE6SK5FB6AVG3VW491 Air Filter https://www.amazon.com/VIVOSUN-Inline-Controller-Ducting-Ventilation/dp/B01NA07G79/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=carbon+filter+fan+combo+6%22&qid=1576713843&s=lawn-garden&sr=1-4 Radiator Heater https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076J929TG/?tag=graswor-20 Humidifier https://www.amazon.com/TaoTronics-Humidifiers-Ultrasonic-Humidifier-Nano-Coating/dp/B07RYM5SW6/ref=sr_1_15?crid=3W2KKZEBBKPXR&keywords=humidifiers&qid=1576723717&sprefix=humi%2Caps%2C187&sr=8-15&th=1 Thermometer, RH meter https://www.amazon.com/AcuRite-Humidity-Thermometer-Hygrometer-Indicator/dp/B0013BKDO8/ref=pd_bxgy_86_3/133-1104689-3082167?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B0013BKDO8&pd_rd_r=326d14f9-293a-415c-a52d-dc1bccf2bb86&pd_rd_w=3gaHb&pd_rd_wg=IIqy9&pf_rd_p=09627863-9889-4290-b90a-5e9f86682449&pf_rd_r=JSR2HM52WF2K3T8S9JNB&psc=1&refRID=JSR2HM52WF2K3T8S9JNB Oscillating Fans (2) https://www.amazon.com/VIVOSUN-Patented-Oscillating-2-Speed-Control/dp/B07TJCVQ15/ref=sr_1_11?keywords=oscillating%2Bfan&qid=1577373590&sr=8-11&th=1 I'll post pics of the grow tent as it is built. 2020-01-04: The pieces of the tent are arriving, everything is scheduled to be here within 3 days. I unboxed, assembled, and started using the Mars Hydro TSW-2000 grow light, it is like a small sun in my closet!

2020-01-05: Woke up to some wilted plants this morning. Plants 1 & 2 appear to have overheated under the new light, but plants 5-8 (that are 1 week behind) appear unaffected (they are about 1/3 the height). The soil on all plants was very dry, so I watered them and turned off the light until I can find my small screwdriver and dim the light. 2020-01-08: The new tent arrived last night, we finished putting it together around midnight. It is a 60" x 60" x 80" by Ohuhu. I'd never heard of them before, but after researching them they received good reviews in the general tent category. The tent appears well made and we haven't observed any problems. The ventilation system I bought is overkill, 6" 440 cfm. It is pulling out the humidity before it can accumulate, even at the lowest setting. It is quiet though. 2020-01-09: Transplanted into five gallon pots this morning. Plants 1 & 2 were root bound in the Solo cups, transplanting was overdue. 2020-01-11: End of week 4. Plants 1 & 2 are leading the growth with heights of 5.5" each after topping and fimming. Plant 2 took some serious light burn during the move. Solved the over-ventilation problem: The ventilation system is too powerful and sucks the humidity and heat out of the tent. Solution: Route part of the filtered air back into the tent as seen in the pictures. There is still a 6" intake at the bottom of the tent wall, and overall negative air pressure.

2020-01-18: End of week 5. Plants 1 & 2 are doing well, lots of growth outwards and about an inch upwards. Plants 5-8 are about a week behind plants 1 & 2. Performed plenty of LST (adusting the restraints almost daily) and did some minor defoliation on plants 1 & 2 to expose the colas.

2020-01-20: Near start of week 6 and plants 1 & 2 have sprouted little white hairs! They are little less than half an inch long and are white. 2020-01-21: Reversed the order of the plants in the tent so that the oldest plants are in the front. That will save my back some effort! Did LST on all of the plants that were capable of supporting it. 2020-01-25: Good week for growth in every direction and the plants hit flowering. Plant 1 is 13 inches tall, plant 2 is 6 inches tall. Need to start feeding nutrients, I will pick up some this next week.

2020-02-16: Finished week 9. The RH was spiking up into the 70's so I bought a dehumidifier, now the RH stays where I set it (50-55%, I have veg and flower autos in same tent). Now the problem is the soil is drying out too quickly and the plants are dehydrating as can be seen in the above pictures. An interesting observation, some of the plants are showing more of their sativa genetics, while others show indica traits. For example compare the leaves of plants 1 & 2 against those of the plant in the last picture. Also the height of the plants varies from 15 inches to 22 inches.

2020-02-22: End of week 10. Because the plants were dehydrated last week, I decided to water them again on 2/16 but I unfortunately fed them nutes again, causing a major nutrient burn. Lots of yellow leaves with curled up claw tips. I immediately flushed with distilled water the next day and everyone seems fine. Watered with PH 6.0, 1/2 gallon distilled water each. There is a lot of runoff from plant one, the soil just isn't retaining the water.

2020-03-07: End of week 12 for Group 1. I nute burned them again, sigh. Probably didn't mix them well enough and they were concentrated at the bottom of the solution. Week 13 now, flushed everyone with distilled water in prep for possible harvest next weekend.

2020-03-08: This was my first grow, and these plants were not well taken care of during their short lives but they survived and produced 228g of wet buds total (well, today is actually 3/10 so they have been drying for 2 days before I got to measuring them), so maybe we'll get around 2+ ounces. Once the flower is dried and cured I'll update with the details. 2020-03-19: The flowers shrank by about 75%, yielding 2 ounces of light popcorn buds. Sampled some and it is very good, however, so I am excited to apply what I've learned from this first grow to future ones. Here's hoping everyone out there stays safe and healthy during this pandemic.

Lookin nice.. Only thing is, I think these dont produce much.. Mine is lookin a little on the smaller side.. I grew a berry ryder from auto seeds before this one and the colas were massive compared to these.. Lookin nice tho.. Mine is lookin the exact same.. I shouldnt have taken down my WW auto diary

@Professor_Chaos, Wow you have a seed bank going! I think the harvest for plants 1 & 2 is going to be in about 3-4 weeks also, sadly seeds 3 & 4 died from group one so it will only be 2 plants. Pistils are still white, and the sugar leaves are turning visibly white with trichomes, it is amazing to watch.

@Uthon, i just got some of ILGM's wedding cake myself.. Haven't popped any of them yet.. Waiting to finish what I got going on now.. I got ALOT from them.. Super Skunk.. OG Kush and OG Kush Auto.. Blueberry and Blueberry Auto.. Blackberry.. Strawberry Kush.. Master Kush.. Bubblegum.. Bubblegum Auto.. Uhh.. Gelato.. GSC Extreme Auto.. Mango Kush.. I think there's more... I kinda went on a spending spree.. Needed to stock up.. Also went crazy with some Sweet Seeds and Fast Buds.. I probably shouldnt have bought all these at once since I only have 2 tents.. But I keep them stored very securely in the refrigerator with a few silica packs to keep moisture out.. I think they will be fine lol.. As for the WW Auto.. Not a huge yield but its gonna be kinda dank.. Hell buy 10 get 10 free.. Cant lose with that deal lol the pistils on my WW auto have already been turning.. I think harvest is gonna be in the next 3 or 4 weeks for me.. What about yours? The pistils are still white on your WW autos??
Uthon
Uthoncommented5 years ago
@Professor_Chaos, I agree the autos have lesser yields, 4-6 ounces per 3x3 area vs 18 ounces per 3x3 area for ILGM WHW both :(. For me, WHW autos are good because I have 3 grows in the same tent staged one month apart. This lets me harvest every month. I'm growing 12 plants (legal limit), 4 plants harvest each month so I hope to harvest between 4-8 ounces per month, enough for my use. If I was growing photos they couldn't all be in the same tent, so I'd need 3 tents. I'll have to try a different strain next time, we bought 20 of the WW seeds from ILGM and have 5 left. I'm thinking of Wedding Cake probably. The soil is killing me though, the effort required to move 12 pots around is a lot. I am in a 5' x 5' tent and it is packed, I am thinking of expanding to a 5' x 10' so I can tend the plants without moving them, and using hydroponics for better yields.

Im not for sure.. But it kinda looks like maybe you sprayed the leaves and the droplets magnified the light and burned the leaves?? I could be wrong.. And careful with raising the light up that high.. They might start stretching. If it were me.. I would CAREFULLY dig up plant 2 and try to bury some of the stem .. Or some people just use something to hold the plant up till its strong enough to hold herself up without any help... Just a thought
Uthon
Uthoncommented5 years ago
@Professor_Chaos, @Daviduhh Ah, yes, I was missing a fan. I have one now with some light indirect air currents hitting the plants. Many thanks.
Professor_Chaos
Professor_Chaoscommented5 years ago
@Uthon, yeah digging up could cause problems and even stunt growth for a couple days.. Actually, I'm sorry, what I guess I meant was, if she were a photoperiod I would dig her up and replant her.. Not an auto tho.. Im only on my second auto ever.. But going smoothly as my last did. Yours are looking great to me tho.. I spray mine the first week or so but I cant say I've ever gotten the mist burns before.. Kinda weird. Do you have a fan in there??
Uthon
Uthoncommented5 years ago
@Professor_Chaos, I did spray the leaves! I will keep an eye out for stretching, but I think I'll place a support in rather than digging up plant 2 that really scares me hehe. Thanks for the insight.

@Uthon, Its such a coincedence. My 1st strain I grew was also ilgm ww and I harvested early haha. I wish I still had pics, looked exactly like yours

@ReginaldJohnstonX3, It wouldn't be the first mistake but we'll see where it goes from here. I made oatmeal raisin cookies out of the trim, and they came out working as intended, so I'm looking forward to the buds :).

Do you feed, water, feed, water?? Do you check your runoff ph? Some people dont test the runoff ph but I check every time I water/feed... Salts build up.. I use coco coir now.. And I usually have to feed, skip a day, water, skip a day, feed, skip a day water and skip 2 days (usually Saturday and Sunday). My first grow that was in soil.. I did the same thing but it was feed on Mondays and water on Fridays.. My point is.. Check your runoff and you can see exactly where you soil and your plant even out together.. Some people have to feed, water, water, feed, water, water.. Just depends on the soil condition and what the plant likes
Uthon
Uthoncommented5 years ago
@Professor_Chaos, Hmm, no, I only measured PH on the way in. I'll definitely apply that next time though.

Still lookin good! Will be harvesting mine after completing week 13.. In the first week of flush now. One more week and chop chop!!.. My WWA produced purple calyxes! Very pretty plant.. Cant wait to see the final results!

@Professor_Chaos, Thanks, I really wish I hadn't crowded so many plants into this small space though! Haha such problems to have. From looking at the plants I'm estimating 1-3 ounces between the two of them.
Professor_Chaos
Professor_Chaoscommentedweek 35 years ago
That's a good setup you ordered! You'll see the difference in growth when you get the new light! Make sure you have a fan blowing onto the light cuz they do get pretty warm. I tried the 600 and it got pretty warm (without a fan) in 30 mins to where it blistered my finger when I touched it.. But I just returned it cuz I already had the Sunraise 1000.. And make sure you dont put that light too close cuz it is pretty easy to burn up young plants when its too close. ATLEAST 24 inches (if not more) until they get bigger and stronger.. They are lookin good tho growmie!!!
Uthon
Uthoncommented5 years ago
@Professor_Chaos,Awesome,thanks! I am really worried the plants are stunted because of the poor light, but hey if they are that's just two plants lost.

Hi I used to buy from ILGM until they decided to ship no more to Uruguay, White widow autoflowering seeds was the first strain I bought from them, with fairly good results despite it was my first grow. I'll follow up your grow. Good luck 💪
Daviduhh
Daviduhhcommentedweek 25 years ago
Good start! If you’re not running a fan, the stems could become weak. I would suggest getting a fan or slightly blowing air on the plants a few times a day. That hardens the stems and strengthens them. Good luck on your grow!
Professor_Chaos
Professor_Chaoscommentedweek 15 years ago
I just started my WW auto from ILGM too.. Hopefully your new light gets in soon. That one MIGHT work but it wont yield very much.. Ive used the screw-in LED grow lights before.. 2 60 watt and 1 18 watt.. I was only able to use it on a solo cup grow (entire life in solo cup) but I just used a bag seed.. Didn't get much but it was still fun and a great learning experience for sure. Hope your grow goes well gromie!
the end.
