Its very hard to make a choice from the very large selection of seeds from Royal Queen Seeds, I was only too happy that they suggested me two new varieties. 🙏 One of them is Triple G (Gorilla Glue x Gelato 33) 💪 So let's grow these ladies Thank you RQS for giving me the opportunity to grow these new strains 😍

The seedlings grow well and their root system is in full development. All seedlings are growing at the same pace 😍 Despite the fact that the seedlings constantly move a little - because of the wind of a fan - the tallest seedlings bend until they almost touch the ground. That's why I supported them with small bamboo sticks. These are particularly handy because of the hook/loop they have at the top. 👌 I give the seedlings 1 liter of water every 2 to 3 days. The water is chambring at least 24 hours in advance. I pour the water into the trays (1/2 liter per tray), so that the seedlings can absorb it themselves. 💤

It's been a busy week 😵 Yellowish leaves to start the week; indicating that my babies had a nutrient deficiency. So I had to repot them to 1 liter pots with Plagron Growmix and added perlite. 😉 Before repotting, I gave them a diluted nutrient solution once. I probably spilled some, which I think is the explanation for some stains on the lower leaves of some plants. 😱 The stems of the plants are now fairly sturdy and they no longer need support. This makes them easier to repot.💪 It was not that easy to wring the plants out of the square pots. Believe me: round pots are easier to repot! 😨

DAY 22: The plants have responded well to the repotting of last week. The new leaves are beautifully green and the roots are already fully developed. All plants are about the same size. 😋 DAY 26: I have too many plants. This is because all seeds germinated and have grown into beautiful plants. 😻 Because I would like to continue growing with the autopots (and I do not have 20 autopot pots) I decided to plant 4 plants per pot (4 x 4 = 16). 🙌 I take a certain risk, but because the plants will grow for only one extra week, I hope the plants will not grow too much in height. My intention is not to top the plants, but to tie them up against the planting sticks that I have placed in every corner of the pots.👍 For the pot mix I have re-used and upgraded the soil mix from my previous culture (El Patron) by adding the additives listed below. Unlike the last time, I filled the bottom 5 - 10 cm of the autopots with clay pebbles. Pot mixture: + - 100 liters of recycled soil (50% perlite) 250 gr. Startex: 200 gr. Seaweed lime 100 gr. Kieseriet 100 gr. Betonite 25 gr. Mycotrex en RQS Easy Roots (Mycorrhiza) I used 3,5 tablets per 24-liter pot (I didn't have enough Biotabs to use four per pot). 👊 I watered the pots with 15 liter water with 15gr. Bactrex & 30 ml. Orgatrex. 😨 Wait and see how this experiment ends .... 😊

Last week before flowering 😊😄😝 The plants did an excellent job last week. The repotting to the large pots has done them well. 👍 I have watered the plants 3 times now. First two times 5 liters of water, containing 1 tablet of RQS Easy Grow Booster. The third time 1.5 tablet for 5 liters of water. Mind ! It takes a while before the tablets are dissolved! 😹 The color of the new leaves is beautifully green. The VPD is now also perfect most of the time with a value of 1.0 👌 For that I had to increase the relative humidity to almost 70%. 😭 I attached the larger plants to the plantsticks with a plastic binding strip. In this way I pull the plants to the same height as the smaller plants. Hopefully this results in a nice flat canopy. The lower branches may develop faster now, but I will remove them later. 👽 The plants now get 18 hours of light instead of 24 hours, so the shock is a little less when they go to 12/12. 🙏

FLOWERING First flowering phenomena are visible in the tops of the plants.😜 -------------------------------- GROWTH The plants are still growing rapidly. To keep the size of the plants somewhat at the same height, I use the following techniques: 😷 1. Removal of the side branches (Defoliation) -Small plants: I remove almost all side branches. In this way the small plants do not have to spend energy in the growth of side branches. -Large Plants: I don't remove anything. The plants will put energy into the growth of side branches, so the plants will not grow too fast in height. -Other plants: I remove the side branches in proportion to the size of the plants. In the course of the following days, I gradually remove all low side branches! 2. Tying the branches (Low Stress Training) -The smallest plants grow straight upwards. -The largest plants are tempered in their growth, afterI have tied them to the plant sticks with the help of plastic plant binders. On DAY 5 the plants vary in length between 23 and 41 cm AIR HUMIDITY 😨 When the lights are on, it gets nice and warm in the growing room. To keep the humidity at the desired level, I have two 7.5 liter humidifiers working almost continuously. In less than 24 hours I have to refill them. As long as the plants do not have real buds, I like high humidity so the plants to keep a low VPD. -------------------------------- WATER and NUTRITION 😱 Due to the high humidity, I don't have to give that much water. Every 3 days I give 1.25 liters of water per pot. I add 3 tablets of Easy Grow Booster to 10 liters of water. I divide this mixture between the 8 pots. This week I gave 2 x water.

GROW 😛 Plants have grown rapidly. GraduallIy I removed the side branches. They look very naked now. But experience has taught me that - especially with SOG - you can almost never overdo it, by removing sidebranches for up to 3 weeks of flowering (depending on the sativa/indica ratio). Usually these branches do not get enough light, so they do not produce many flowers. 😺 On DAY 12 : The smallest plant is 36 cm. The largest plant is 60 cm. 😊 ------------------------------------------ BLOOM 😍 First flowers appear. The plants already smell very nice ! 👍 ------------------------------------------ WATER + NUTRITION 😱 On day 8 I watered the plants by hand, for the last time: 5 liter water with 2 tablets of RQS Easy Bloom Booster. From day 9 I have connected the autopots to the water tank. Hopefully the biotabs tablets provide enough nutrition for the coming weeks. ------------------------------------------ AIR HUMIDITY 😨 To keep the humidity at the desired level, I have to refill the two 7.5 liter humidifiers daily. 👍 As long as the plants do not have real buds, I like high humidity for a stimulating VPD. 💪

GROW 😛 Pruning is growing 😍 Only 4 plants remain small babies. 😵 No more defoliation On DAY 19 : The smallest plant is 44 cm. The largest plant is 85 cm. 😊 ------------------------------------------ BLOOM 😍 ALERT : MALE FLOWERS 😥😪😭 on DAY 15 I noticed male flowers on the lowest node.. I removed the male balls manually (+/- 50). Probably a stress response to the strong pruning last week. In the following days I have not seen any new male flowers. ------------------------------------------ WATER 😱 +/- 6 liter water / 24 hours / 16 plants / 4 pots ------------------------------------------ AIR HUMIDITY 😨 I reduced the humidity by 5%. I fill the humidifiers every day 👍

GROW 😁 As you may already know, I have 2 varieties in my growroom. 👍 I have 4 pots of each species with 4 plants in each pot. So 16 plants Mother Gorilla and 16 plants Triple G. 👽 In the first weeks, the Triple G plants were the fastest growers. But since flowering, most Mother Gorillas are now higher in length than the Triple Gs. The 16 Triple G vary in length. On DAY 26 these are the various lengths (in cm) : 47, 51, 66, 71, 74, 76, 78, 81, 83, 83, 83, 85, 91, 95, 96, 102 The drastic pruning in week 2 has stimulated the plants enormously. The plants have been multiplied by 2 to 2.5 times in height since flowering -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BLOOM 😍 The plants are now busy making new flowers. The plants with the most Sativa genes do not yet have that many flowers. But the plants with more Indica genes are already working hard to string the flowers together to thick buds. The scent of the flowers is fantastic. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WATER / HUMIDITY 😰 I have lowered the desired humidity again this week by 5% 👇 and the temperature is increased by 1 degree. 👆👇 The plants have made many new leaves. Every day (24 hours) the 4 pots (16 plants) get about 7 liters of water to drink. 😂 Most of the water evaporates through the leaves and therefore the humidifiers evaporate less and less water. At the beginning of the week, I had to fill the two humidifiers with 7 liters of water every 24 hours, now every 40 hours. 👌

GROW 💪 Growth has stopped completely. The Triple Gs are medium in height (tallest plant : 106cm). A few plants have remained small. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NUTRITION 🙌 The plants receive their nutrition via the biotabs tablets. I put four plants in each pot and I put 3,5 biotabs in each pot. No shortages. 👌 On the contrary, the leaves of the Triple Gs are darker than dark green 👽 and the tips of the leaves show no signs of burning.👍 42 days later after repotting and using the biotabs tablets., I have given- as Biotabs recommends - the plants a one-time dose of 20 ml Orgatrex (5-1-5) on 500ml water per pot. This Growth & Flowering booster is a greasy substance full of organic material. "Orgatrex helps to maintain your soil life in optimal condition. You need a healthy soil for healthy plants and Orgatrex helps you to achieve this. Orgatrex works great in both the growing or blooming cycle. With its high content of trace elements and sugars, Orgatrex works in harmony with beneficial soil bacteria and mycorrhizae fungi. NPK: 5–1–5 with balanced quantities of Zn, Cu, Ca, Mn, Mg, S, Si and Fe. Certified 100% Organic. " ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FLOWERS 😍 The plants are now investing all their energy in flowering. They make more and more flowers and the trichomes are now developing at a rapid pace. The flowers and the smaller leaves now seem to be covered with a silver powder of trichomes. The scent is delicious and with the slightest touch the scent sticks literally and figuratively to your hands.💪 Every day I remove one or two fanleaves that literally cast a shadow on the small flower tops. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WATER 😨 All 16 plants consume 9 liters of water daily for 4 autopots (24 liters). There are 4 plants in each pot. 😐 I try to keep the humidity below 55%. Because of the rainy weather that is not that easy. I don't want the temperature to drop below 25°C during the day. At night the electric heating is on, which keeps the humidity below 50%. 😘

Not much to do this week. Plants are doing great ! Lots of trichomes. Very frosty 😍 Since a few weeks the leaves have small spots. They are not insects, not spider mites. But I don't know what it is. Started to add BioFinale PK 0.5ml/500ml water/24l pot.

I did a lot of defoliation work this week. Plants look very naked now. 😻 But more light for the buds 😛 = Less leaves = less water (-25%) The plants don't make many few new flowers anymore. Plants have nice fat buds, swelling and getting hard. 💪 Pistils turn brown.

The plants are doing great. The buds are getting thicker. The fragrance is incredible. The plants got their first week of cold nights. Now the buds have a beautiful pink-purple appearance. As last week, the 4 autopots of 24 l., (each containing 4 plants), received a nutrient solution of 0.5 liters per pot every 5 days.

DAY 63 / 9 weeks of flowering. Last pictures. Ready to harvest 😛 Last week the buds have swollen enormously. And with cold nights; temperature between 5° - 10°, the pink colors darkened, rather than turning purple. 👌 All plants are fairly even in ripeness. The buds are hard and sticky. 😍 The fragrance is mainly that of Gelato. The legendary Gorilla genes express themselves rather in the color and appearance. 😻 A beautiful main Indica that is easy to grow, full of trichomes, great pleasant scent, perfect maturation and good yield. Highly recommended ! 👍 Only water till the end. 😨 Plant size and description : #1 96cm Falling in love with this beauty is easy. Beautiful buds. Nice colours. #2 95cm Beautiful plant. Looks a bit like #1, a bit later ripe but thicker buds. #3 100cm Beautiful large plant without side branches. A lust for the eye. Spectacular dark green-purple buds. Perfection. 😍 #4 89cm Another beautiful medium-sized plant. Like # 2 ripe a little slower, but even thicker buds. #5 106cm The largest of all plants. She looks different from the others. She has the most of her parents Gorilla genes. She has slightly longer side branches. Beautiful beautiful light pink color. 😘 #6 78cm Short thick pheno. Gelato style. Beautiful color. Thick round top. #7 69cm Again a thick short pheno. Fantastic colors with a thick slightly more pointed top. #8 96cm Beautiful medium-sized plant. Short side branches with thick main top. Brilliant colors. Very Frosty #9 75cm Small plant with weak, somewhat longer side branches. Semi-thick top. #10 53cm Very small plant. Beautiful big fat bud. Green Gelato type. #11 50cm Very small plant like #10, solid mainbud. Stunning purple-pink colors. #12 85cm Medium sized plant with side branches. Perfect buds. Stiff of trichomes. #13 73cm Super short plant. Enjoy the green color of the leaves, with a tasty purple complexion deep and high in the buds. #14 89cm Medium-sized plant with a lovely thick top, but also with short side branches that are built up with thick buds. #15 85cm Medium sized plant with weak side branches but a nice head bud. #16 99cm Absolute winner. Large plant with thick, fat buds. Super harvest. Top shelf. 😛

Triple G is a sensational cross between Green Gelato and Royal Gorilla. Never before have I seen an Indica dominant strain with buds so sprinkled with trichomes. Superior power, great taste and high productivity. Highly recommended !

Don't underestimate this lady. Her effect is overwhelming, just like her smell and taste. An incredibly strong aroma. A volcanic eruption of trichomes: the buds and the leaves are covered with resins. Rarely seen! Flavors of rich chocolate, berries and sweets complement these effects. However, the sensory bombardment does not stop here. Expect pungent aromas of earth, herbs and diesel. Add to this the fantastic pink to purple shades, then you know that perfection is very near. Triple G develops a dense canopy full of narrow, spiky buds. It is a shame to remove the leaves, because they are also covered with a thick layer of trichomes. The plants have sturdy branches. They are easy to grow. They do not get unexpected growth shoots during flowering. A typical sturdy Indica. The aroma of Triple G is unseen. A penitent kush aroma that merges with a Gelato scent of black chocolate and mint. Enriched with the overwhelming scent comes the sweet smell of cookies, which everyone knows how delicious they are. But what makes Triple G so great is the crossing with the other parent, namely Gorilla. The result is the perfect combination of the super fat chocolate kush and the crispy sour diesel sensation. Take your time if you want to enjoy this top strain. Top quality deserves the right time. I like to make time for this lady. The only drawback is that all plants made male stress flowers during the first weeks of flowering. I manually removed it, but some balls opened up and spread pollen. So now and then I have a seed in my buds. Fortunately, they are clearly visible and therefore easy to remove. I am very satisfied with the autopots. You can leave for a few days without worrying. I wouldn't use them if you live on a floor. Occasionally they leak sometimes .... The pots are wet and heavy, but strangely enough you don't have problems with budrot. Finally, I would like to thank Royal Queen Seeds for the fantastic opportunity they have given me to grow this top strain. Keep up the fantastic work! # 1 96cm 31.0gr Nice yield. Delicious sweet cookie scent. # 2 95cm 28.4gr Aroma is earthier. Color is more purple. Odor is more nasty. # 3 100cm 27.4gr Spectacular dark green-purple buds. Deliciously sweet from cookies. Also shades of berries. # 4 89cm 30.6gr Beautiful buds. Not sweet. No fruit, but a pungent aroma of chemical / diesel. Gorilla. # 5 106cm 49.7gr High yield. Beautiful buds with a light purple color. Acidic fragrance. Diesel. Delicious Gorilla taste # 6 78cm 24.7gr Smaller plant, low yield. Beautiful color. Sweet Sour. Berries. # 7 69cm 32.2gr Small plant with good yield. Fixed buds. Beautiful purple shades. # 8 96cm 48.6gr High yield. Potent. Slightly sour. Half Gelato / Half Gorilla. # 9 75cm 32.4g Good yield. Beautiful buds. Potent. Wonderful fragrance. # 10 53cm 14.6gr Very small plant. Very low yield. Soft aroma. # 11 50cm 28.6gr Very small plant but with a good yield. Stunning purple-pink colors. Strong penetrating odor. Wonderfully earthy. # 12 85cm 16.6gr Relatively large plant with a low yield. Earthy and sweet. Beautiful buds. Beautiful purple shades. Stiff from the trichomes. # 13 73cm 23.5gr Less yield. Fat buds. Neutral odor. # 14 89cm 44.5gr High yield. Fat buds. Fragrance is less pleasant. # 15 85cm 44.4gr Large yield. Top quality. Hugely tasty buds. Beautiful color. Hard. Gorilla style. Studded with trichomes. # 16 99cm 49.4gr The plant with the highest yield. Fat buds. Rather neutral taste.

@Nebula420, Exactly as I thought at first. But no signs of any spider mites. Very very very very sporadically I saw some things under the leaves that do not belong there. But no spider mites. Under the magnifying glass, it looked rather like light-green spots but certainly no bugs. I have had the phenomenon for at least 4 weeks, and if it were spider eggs, I would have seen a lot of mites by now. Thank you for the nice comment on the frosty buds. Yeah, the are really frosty. Had a lot of seeds? I have a similar problem, What could be to blame?
Oyziphar

Although the smell and taste of Triple G is fantastic, I also suffered from male balls. Probably due to defoliation stress. They appear only during the second and third week of flowering. But enough to provide (unwanted) offspring. I've had it with feminized seeds. That is why I now put regulars and took cuttings from them.

KrautFabrik
KrautFabrikcommented5 years ago
@Oyziphar, ty for sharing your experience ✌️
Oyziphar
Oyzipharcommented5 years ago
@KrautFabrik, Because all plants germinated and grew well, I had too many plants. Buying extra autopots was not an option because of the price. Four plants per pot goes very wel. If I had clones I'd do it every time. But with seeds you have so much difference in size, that's a bit of a problem..... In the previous grow (El Patron) I only had one plant per pot, but due to the buds and the long growing time, the plants had a nutrient deficiency in the beginning of flowering.... What I do like is that the autopots allow the plants to drink water individually. Even if they are in the same pot.
