I am surprised just like you that my Skunk in veg smells really amazing. Its pleasure to touch and smell that aroma.

Cannot provide a smoke report yet as I will 'try' to not touch this strain until it has had 8 weeks in the jar. What I can say is that the day after jarring there is no 'green or hay' smell - just that overwhelming Skunk fragrance almost like it has already had 8 weeks curing!
Really looking forward to sampling this old school classic in a month or two.
Whilst there are lots of fashionable hybrids around today, growers should not overlook their hertiage and the old school strains. Whilst I have grown many modern hybrids, not many can match up to Skunk XL for smell and denseness of nugs.
Would recommend this Royal Queen Seeds strain/genetics to all.
Smoke Update 1 :
Gave a nug or two to a desperate friend after only a week in the jar - stunk the house out and smashed him into sleepy relaxed couchlock after a single doobie. Should be rather nice after 8 weeks curing ๐

Root madness - Huge root mass entirely filling 25 ltr airpot and with a disc of roots underneath the pot around 1cm thick!
Explode is a must from week 2/3 of flower - visible results. Take Root and multi total both excellent as alterative weekly supplements
Did not use A + B for this grow
First time using but plant seemed to like it. Root mass was huge and healthy.
A must - humic acid - soil improver - plant loved it - apply every other week
Dry Bud Weight = 176g
Trim and popcorn buds = 52g
Dried over 9 days at between 62-68f and RH of 52% - 58%
Dried lovely, small to medium sized buds but these little pebbles of green joy are as solid as hell. Nugs that go 'thunk' when they hit your trimming tray.
Scissors kept glueing together during 2nd (dry) trim and smell is simply that Sam the Skunkman 'old school goodness'
Jarred at 58 -62% RH - now I need to keep my hands out of the 'cookie'jar for at least 8 weeks ๐
Very happy with how this plant turned out as I had a number of problems during the grow. I used a new brand of soil and ended up misreading the plant and creating a lock out of magnesium by adding more when I should have flushed. Despite this fundamental error and extensive mainline training, RQS Skunk XL genetics kept on soldiering through to produce just over 6 ounces of wonderfully smelly and dense hard buds. Definitely a good beginner strain as it is very tolerant of mistakes!
Most modern hybrids have Skunk somewhere in their antecedents and it is easy to see why.

Looks good! I've bookmarked your grow: my next round starting in March will also be RQS Skunk XL and I plan on trying some of the more advanced techniques as mainlining too (as it will be my second grow ever), so thanks for sharing your methods! I will definitly follow untill harvast and use your diary as a reference.
