I now have two tents! I will focus one tent on Auto Flowers (see my other journals) and this tent will be dedicated to one photo fem plant im planning to ScrOG. The lucky seed I chose was a Dinafem Blue Cheese. Super excited to see how this grows under my new set up.
12/29/19- Began germinatio in a paper towel. Placed in 81 F grow tent above grow lights.
12/31/19- Sprout reached around 2cm so I transplanted into solo cup w/ fox farm ocean forest soil.
1/1/20- Started the new year banging with this one shooting up already!
1/3/20- First true leaves emerge !
**New Tent Specs**

202w Spider Farmer SF-2000
6' Hurricane Inline Fan 435 CFM
Week #2! This is my first Photo Fem grow indoors and i'm excited because she is doing so well! Im watering with 100% distilled water occasionally just making sure she stays moist. Been watering every time with mammoth p along with all my other grows and it seems to be really helping all together.
Day 12- Transplant day! she seemed very healthy so figured it was the perfect time to transplant! Everything went super smooth and she had a great root structure thanks to the mammoth p. Will monitor for transplant shock but she was good 3 hours after transplant.
Day 13- I watered her with Mammoth p because she seemed to be looking great after transplant and the soil was a little dry.
Day 14- She is growing at a strong pace still! so happy with her performance, no transplant lag at all! good for a first time !!
vegging under phlizon LEDs running 398 w from the wall plants seem to like these lights for vegging. I am doing feeds with Mammoth P every watering. I have a humidifier set up in my and my seedlings in this tent its spraying with distilled water and at this point at lights off with magnesium (epsom salt) since the LEDs are very strong im taking precautions and supplementing the magnesium so deficiencies don't occur.
Day 15- The tent is sitting at 55RH% and 82ish F. The New England weather is so indecisive and its making me loose my mind but luckily my tents have stayed dialed in a are painting steady consilient temps. Growth looks good so I decided to top the f*** out of her and start to mainline or something idrk just gunna have fun with it
Day 17- Recovering fast. starting to grow again . all is good =)
Day 20- She is showing resilience for sure. she is a good and strong plant you can tell. great genetics. 4 new shoots to work with. possibly going to top these as well
This Dinafem Blue Cheese is keeping up with the HST and bouncing back fast she sure is resiliant! I did a tent adjustment as far as lights go. I had my tent running Veg + Bloom lights for majority of the veg cycles on my other plants. Veg + Bloom gets me 80 wats a sq/ft from the wall just a few plants couldn't handle the light intensity while others could like this Blue Cheese for instance. Regardless I set my light back 50% to just veg lights and im pulling 45 wats a sq/ft and the plants all seem to be digging this "cooler" light right now.
Day 22- Everything is great! and im continues with Mammoth P waterings every other day. of week 4 and I did another major pruning. Im thinking of mainlining just 8 colas on this one due to space restrictions. She is responding very well to all the training so far and I think this is due to the fact I let her grow out a bit and establish a nice healthy root system. Ive fed with Mammoth P every day probably .30 gallons each time.
Day 23- Keeeeeeep on training
Day 27- The new growth is coming in nicely. I chose to do a cross rather a T because I might take some nodes and clone them from this specific plant. she is a strong one that I don't want to loose aha!
I got a very cool time lapse video of this plant bouncing back from its topping/ mainlining. I haven't feed with any nutrients I've been focused on balancing PH and feeding the soil with microbes right now to support the roots. The plant seems very healthy and isn't telling me she wants nutes yet! I have 6 colas now but I might go for 10-12 im not sure yet! Im so excited about how she is growing and im hoping to cut a few clones from her to keep these good genetics!
I have a ExHale Co2 bag in the tent its properly propagating and producing co2 at this point. It states that it supply up to 1500 ppms of C02 but I have no way to measure it. I place the bag at the bottom of my tent (because c02 is heavier than air). I have a box fan on low and no ventilation running in my tent. This is so I can maintain higher moisture levels in the tent and also because I don't really need ventilation these plants don't smell. By turning off the ventilation I have significantly higher moisture
I went away on vacation to Utah for a week so I wasn't able to update my grow journal at all unfortunately . She really exploded while I was gone she's roughly 14"tall x 17"wide. She is starting to give off a nice dank smell I had the carbon filter off but I switch it back on. The tents humidity will drop back to 35-40RH% because of this. I also switched the bloom lights back on so the temp is also going to rise up higher than 75F during the day. My guess is at night the tent hits a low of 62F but averages around 65F.
The co2 bag has some awesome growth and Its Cleary producing co2 because this lady is praying towards her lights ! I 100% recommend using c02 bag for sure even though most places online will say its useless.
DAY 40- Added tomato cage to help support it ! it is two feet exactly as of today!
*New time lapse*
2/10/20- Took 2 cuttings for clones, she is a cool plant and id like to keep her genetics alive for breeding projects this summer =) lollipoped the bottoms a bit and defoliated the lower fan leaves as well. Temp is back to 80F and 38RH%
2/11/20- Did absolutely nothing but admire this beauty today ;)
2/12/20- Watered with Recharge (double the strength), Cal Mag, and Mammoth P at 6.5 Ph
2/13/20-NFTG mis flower feed
Day 43-Im waiting just a little longer to flower because she's in my veg tent with no room in my flower tent. If I wait another week or so I can switch this VEG tent into flowering lights. She is a beat! I started to defoliate the inner leaves and did some minor LST my twisty tying the main stocks to the cage. I wanted to "open" her up and get the small branches some light to grow during this veg period. Having a lot of fun with this plantl so far!
Day 44-2 feet tall as of today 💪. she has surpassed her step sister(bag seed rando that's actually a phenomenal plant) even with multiple toppings. She is a true work horse IMO. I have 2 very healthy clones taken from her and I am planning on taking 2 more for mothers . Excited to keep her genetics alive to possible breed with this summer. I picked up some original NL#5xHaze seeds from swami I want to breed with this cheese. would be crazy.
Day 46- Found a cool branch with three new bud sites coming from one node which was a first for me! Fed with NFTG mid veg feed, recharge, and Mammoth P. Defoliated a few more leaves that I thought blocked light to much from getting to the under growth. I want to focus on growing out the middle of the plant for one more week before throwing it into flower.
As much as id like to keep vegging this beauty I need to flip to 12-12 to flower because of height restrictions. She is a beast and I am excited to see her flower. Now she is off to the flower tent with the SF2000 hooked up. Lets see how she reacts to the stronger light.
Day 50- Mammoth P/Recharge/Cal-Mag/Epsom salt water feed @ 6.3 ph / Bloom Khaos foliar spray @6.2 before lights off.
Day 52- Major defoliation
Day 53- Recharge/Cal-mag/MammothP feed at 6.4 ph ~ Bloom Khaos foliar feed
Day 54- Nothing happened just took some photos
Day 56- NFTG early flower feed
Second Week of flowering and she is almost 3 ft tall. I made more room in the tent in preparation for her to stretch a bit more.
Day 57- Shaved her legs a bit ;) general defoliation/ pruning of small buds that won't make it to canopy. No watering.
Day 58- Flsuhed with Bush doctor
Day 59-60 Skip water
Day 61- Mammoth P/ Recharge/ Cal-mag watering @ 6.3ph and foliar with bloom khaos @ 6.2ph
Day 62-63- Skip water
Day 64- NFTG mid flower feed.
Third week of flowering and she's still showing great progress. Starting to show pistols now.
Day 64- NFTG mid flower feed
Day 65- No watering. Bloom Khaos Foliar spray
Day 66- Flush
Day 67- no watering. Bloom Khaos Foliar spray
Day 68- Mammoth P/Recharge/ Cal-mag feed
Day 69-70 No water
Started the week with a NFTG Mid flower feed. She's looking healthy and I shaved her legs a bit ;) definitely flowering and still stretching! almost 40 " or so as of right now =) Added a video of how I mix my NFTG solution
Day 71-NFTG mid flower feed /Mammoth P/ Recharge @ 6.5 ph
Day 72-73 No watering
Day 74- Recharge/Cal-Mag/Mammoth P/ Bloom Khaos Feed @6.5ph
Day 75- No water
What a beauty ! Imso glad I have 2 rooted clones to keep her genetic alive =) possibly will cross her with a landrace Hindu Kush strain.
Day 78- NFTG flower feed/Mammoth P/ Recharge @6.5ph
Day 79-80 No Water
Day 81- Mammoth P/Recharge/ Cal-Mag/ Bloom Khaos feed @ 6.8
Day 82-84 No water
Wow is all I have to say..She is an impressive plant for sure. From size to smell to the way she looks I can't find anything to complain about and I haven't noticed one deficiency yet. Ive been relatively light on the feeds with this one with only one large feeding a week and 2 small soil feeds or a flush in between. Easy to mainline and stress train, very resilient to it all. Dinafem is kicking some ass with this one for sure
Day 84- NFTG mid flower feed/Recharge/Mammoth P
Day 85- No water
Day 86-Mammoth P/ Recharge/ Cal mag
Day 87-No water
Day 88- Flush
Day 89-90 no water
Slowing the nutrients down . She is extra frost 😍smells super sweet/sour definitely a really unique smell and I love it! the buds are truly beautiful =))))
Day 92- Herc Harvest/Mammoth P "flush" starting
Day 93-95 no water
God damn is it getting hot in here or is it just this 🔥🔥🔥Blue Cheese plant. She is frosting up nicely and fattening up her buds pleasantly. I am a little hesitant to heavy nutrient feed at this point but will add a little something in tonights watering and possibly begin flushing after this week. As of now you can catch me just checkin her out in the tent and staring 😍
Day 99- No water
Day 100- Mammoth P/ Herc Harvest/ Aphrodites Extraction flush @ 6.5ph
Day 101- No water
Day 102- Herc Harvest/ Aprhodites Extraction Flush @ 6.6 ph - Starting to fade a reddish purple on the leaves 👌
Day 103-105- No water
Last week before harvest! =D She is such a beautiful plant and came out so lovely. I mainlined her to 6 main colas. The fade on her is unreal and beautiful . Its reddish purple and the onset was fast. I knew she was done by 110 under the scope she was half cloudy and had a good amount of ambers in there. some beautiful weed and such a pungent unique sour / sweet smell. Not much cheese but maybe I just don't know what im smelling for! haha
Day 107- No water
Day 108- Heavy flush
Day 109-112 no water
Day 113- she got the chop!!!!!!!!!!!
10/10 on this strain. Such a fun and rewarding strain. tolerable to light, nutrients, HST, LST , you name it . The smell is so STRONG but with this pheno I get absolutely no cheese. Its a minty fruit almost refreshing smell which I am A - OK with. Plants a stunner for sure and would recommend anyone from a pro to novice to grow this out.
Blue Cheese-
Light- farmer sf-2000 only in a 3x3 tent
Substrate- Michigan Made M3 Soil in a 6 gal fabric air pot
Training Methods- Mainlining (HST), LST, and Defoliation
Growth-
Initial growth was fast and vigorous and was moved out of a solo cup after 12 days with a very impressive root system established already. I topped her almost immediately and started to manipulate her into the manifold I wanted. I ended up going for 6 mains and allowed the inner growth of new buds to continue as well. She never showed any signs of stress during transplant and during the extreme HST at first which was very impressive. When she hit 2 ft tall, I switched her over to Flower which was after week 7. She continued to consistently grow and keep a very lush green color and nearly doubled herself in size during flower and she really took a liking to the SF2000 light. Even when she stretched up real close to the light it just seemed to help more. I got 5 really massive colas on this mainline attempt , one for one reason or another ( I think kuz I took clones from this branch) didn’t grow up past the cage but I still got a nice fat dence bud off it. The buds grew super dense with an incredible layer of sticky trichomes that would make my fingers feel like glue whenever I touched them! She faded into a beautiful purple/blue color and I believe she was definitely more so on the blueberry pheno side than cheese so im real interested to pop the other 2 beens sometimes in the near future.
Nutrients ~
Like I do with most my plants I started her slowly with just microbial feeds (w/Mammoth P and Recharge) and I did not start using my main nutrient line (Nectar for The Gods) until week 7 for this run. Because im using M3 I kept it real simple because of how nutrient rich that soil is. She showed no signs of deficiency at all throughout the entire grow. This plant reacted real well to my NFTG soil drenches and foliar feeds. I kept my program as simple as possible with following this schedule (for the most part)
Microbe tea /VEG ONLY*foliar spray
No Water
Feed /VEG ONLY*foliar spray
Microbe tea
No Water /VEG ONLY*foliar spray
No Water or Flush (every two weeks)
Aroma/Taste ~
Besides how it grows the best attribute to this plant is its aroma. It is SO uniquely refreshing. It’s a very sour almost minty burn on your nose , with a lingering berry / fruit layer to really compliment it. I did not get any cheese smells at all however , which is fine for me, I didn’t get them during growth and I don’t get them even after a month of curing. The aroma is so intense though that it almost does not matter. Its definitey the kind of bud the reeks through the bag through your pants making you completely obvious haha which is what I want! So far out of all the bud in my line up , this is the real crowed pleaser and very comparable to the “premium” quality bud people want/ get around me.
Effects~
Heavy hitter for sure. Definitely a spread down the middle of Sativa/Indica on effect. Makes me feel happy and euphoric and almost energetic , doesn’t make me couch locked at all. Its a perfect evening toke for letting a bad day fade away or for hanging out with friends and definitely for playing some xbox 8)
Overall thoughts~
This plant is really easy to grow. Hands down. I think Dinafem did a fantastic job in creating a strain that is tolerable to many diferent conditions. She grows very quickly and is “branchy” so she can get thick quick! Because of this she has potential to be a huge yielder even when using varying types of training. I mainlined my plant, and this was a first for me, so I went into it nervous as hell! I’m glad I chose these Dinafem blue cheese genetics to experiment with because she took everything like a true warrior! It just goes to show the true ease of growing this plant.
*Also on a side note she clones very well almost consistently on the 12th or 13th day . If you get the purple pheno you will definitely be glad you saved its genetics! Such a cool strain with endless possibilities.
Drying Method:
-Hang dried for 12 days as a whole plant
-Big fan leaves trimmed off on 8th day of dry
-trimmed and jarred WITHOUT boveda. I believe boveda ruins the aroma and flavor of my bud personally and have better success with the traditional curing it in a mason jar and burping for a month .
May I ask a question please?
What sort of stretch have you faced with our Blue Cheese?
Has it been manageable so far?
Thanks for the update mate 🙏
All the best ✌️
Mark..
@DinafemSeeds, Yes very manageable in my 7ft tent. I have about 12-14 inches of wiggle room right now in the 6th week. Will definitely keep updating this grow diary!
@DOOBS_N_BREWS, Thank you for the added stretch info mate 🙏
By the look of things she's stayed "manageable" and what a fantastic bud structure with crazy crystal coverage 👌
Please keep the diary update coming as you enter the home stretch 🙏
All the best ✌️
Mark..
@DinafemSeeds, In the last three weeks from the flip it has stretched 1ft. As of right now it has been easy to manage but I'm not sure what the future holds!
Our Blue Cheese is looking happy and healthy just what we want to see at this stage of growth 👌
Good luck with the grow my friend and thank you for choosing our genetics for this adventure on the grow diary platform 🤗
All the best ✌️
Mark..
Good luck with the harvest my friend 🙏
Beautiful work with our Blue Cheese 🤗
That's going to be some tasty product once fully dry and cured of course 👌
Please do a pre harvest update 🤞
Stay safe in these crazy times 🙏
All the best ✌️
Mark..
@DinafemSeeds, Thanks man!!! This plant was by far my favorite plant ive ever grown. The smell, her appearance , her tolerant personality , a growers dream to be honest. I am looking forward to this medicine so much! Thank you for such a beautiful plant and great genetics. From the XXL auto I grew to this photo fem plant - Dinafem genetics have been superior ! 👊🙏🙏
(Cheese skunk smell )mine I thought the same thing in the beginning not too cheesy but after curing most definitely you cannot open a jar or a bag without the cheesy smell taking over and when you smoking it still has this fruity berry flavour to it and the high is very nice congratulation and enjoy my friend very beautiful plants.
@Canadian, Thanks dude. Im excited to see what curing will do to this aroma , its already so awesome! Definitely seems like she's a more blueberry dominant plant but i'm sure like you said that smell will come through with a proper cure!
