Day 0; The seed is starting to open up and it should germinate shortly. Then it'll go in the pot. This Sour Diesel will share the tent with an Auto Zkittlez and a Purple Lemonade. There's also a photo plant, a Green Gelato, in the tent that has a couple of weeks to finish, so I can only keep them in the tent for 12 hrs, and then they'll have to stay outside the tent with a small blurple LED light for 8 hrs. Day 00; Hopefully this will be day 1. I think she'll sprout later today. I made her a dome to get the humidity up and protect her a little bit against the intense light. Day 1; Today she sprouted. Day 6; She's growing as expected

Day 8; She's been setup for automatic irrigation and is now fed 7 times a day. Day 10; She's growing as expected. Day 14; Another few days and she should be ready for main-lining. She doesn't like the light as much as the other plants do, she's getting a bit of twisty leaves.

Day 23; I trained the 4 branches outwards. The plastic clips - Bends - are awesome for training. I removed some lower leaves and increased the light intensity. Day 28; She feels a bit weaker than her tent sisters, but she still grows well

Day 30; She started to show signs of flowering yesterday. She is growing well. Removed some leaves. Changed from 20 to 18 hrs light schedule today. Day 33; Removed some more leaves, and hooked her up to auto-feed again. Day 35; She has stretched a bit. I have defoliated her some. I do that kind of every day.

Day 60; Her buds have grown well and she's showing lots of trichomes. I'm starting her on late flower bloom booster today, and she should be ready in a couple of weeks. She got brown leaves from faulty irrigation. I might give her another flush.

Day 77; I started to flush her 5 days ago. Her leaves never got any better despite a couple of flushes. It's something in what I'm feeding her that she doesn't like I suspect. The other plants (Purple Lemonade) in the tent that have been on the same feed look good, but today I saw similar symptoms on my Glue Gelato. I wonder if the leaf problem could be a fungus named Rust. Does anyone have any knowledge about Rust?

Her leaves started to get orange/brown spots a couple of weeks ago. Now all leaves go yellow and dry and die. Flushing her didn't help. Now I get similar symptoms on my Glue Gelato plant.

Hi @Nickeluring They seem to be PH variations and a slight lack of calcium but nothing to worry about, it is normal at the end of flowering for plants to gain purple and brown tones. otherwise your plant is looking great and almost ready for harvest. good luck mate at harvest 💪🙏👍

I believe the problem with the leaves is a fungus named Rust. Does anyone know anything about Rust? Too late for this plant, but I might be able to save my other plants. What's the best way to deal with Rust?

As far as I know when you see rust spots it usually has something to do with Calcium and/or Magnesium deficiencies. idk if you were giving Cal-Mag as a supplement or not

This sticky plant has a very pleasant smell and flavour. It's got the famous fuel taste, a bit like skunk. It certainly packs a punch! This is super potent stuff. The stickiness delivers a great sativa high.

This girl grew very well. It was no problems to train her with a proper quadline and she performed very well. She grew amazing buds that are very sticky with a very pleasant smell. She did show some signs of Calcium deficiency towards the end. This was never properly dealt with since her harvest flush started shortly thereafter. I would recommend this strain to any grower who appreciate the fuel flavour and a powerful sativa effect. The dry bud weight is just an estimate since it's not finished drying yet. Considering she was crammed into a 2'x4' tent with 6 other plants, the yield is not too bad.

Interesting you keep a high pH for a hydro setup. I've always aimed at 5.5 - 6.5. Seems to be working fine for you :)

Nickeluringcommented5 years ago
@HazeyBobby, yes it was a good switch. It would be hard to make me go back...
HazeyBobby
HazeyBobbycommented5 years ago
@Nickeluring, thanks for letting me know - I didn't realise the extent of AN's line was completely pH independent. Sounds like it was a good switch :)
Nickeluring
Nickeluringcommented5 years ago
@HazeyBobby, I stopped using my pH pen and pH+ and pH- when I switched to Advanced Nutrients. Their nutes are pH independent and as long as you're between a pH of 4 and 8 you're all good. 7.2 is what it comes to from the tap and everything mixed into it, and I just serve it to my thirsty ladies as is. Before I switched I noticed the pH in my nute reservoir kept rising, and I was looking at making something that would automatically adjust the pH, but thankfully I never had to deal with it.

Awesome buds mate, looks like they would have needed a lot of trimming/manicuring. Did you need to wash your shirts hanging there after drying? 😃 Last time I hung weed to dry in my closet, friends would comment on the scents emanating from me for a week afterwards :)
HazeyBobby
HazeyBobbycommented5 years ago
@Nickeluring, I hear you on the drying approach and I'd like to try it on a harvest. I've always wet trimmed and drying times are much shorter - but then I manage them in jars till curing starts. sounds like you're going to be up to your neck in harvesting for a while :) a good problem to have.
Nickeluring
Nickeluringcommented5 years ago
@HazeyBobby, Haha, I think my whole persona constantly smells of this beautiful herb, so no one would be able to tell if my shirts smell. 😄 I do all the trimming when the plant is dry and ready to put in the jars. Dried whole like this it will be more or less cured by the time it has finished drying. With a rH of about 60% it dries in about 2 1/2 - 3 weeks when dried whole. I am a bit worried about the state my bedroom will be in shortly though. I have 8 girls lined up for the drying rack, the first one being chopped in a few days, and then a second wave of 7 more ladies in about 5 more weeks. 😳 As a side note; while I type this I vape the very first sample of this plant. It is of course not cured yet so taste wise it'll get better, but still very good. Potent stuff for sure!

@Denzul, thank you, my friend. Exciting times indeed. I currently have 7 ladies in flower, and 10 chicas not far behind. Perhaps it'll get too exciting soon...

Nice plastic trainers... what are they called? and do you take them off before those branches thicken or does it cater for that?
Nickeluring
Nickeluringcommented5 years ago
@HazeyBobby, they're called Bends and they're absolutely fantastic!! You can take them off or leave them on. If the branch gets really thick, the clip expands. But I usually remove them before they're stretched too much so I can reuse them. You need to be careful once they're in place if trying to bend a branch right next to the clip. It's very easy to snap a branch right off if it gets bent against a clip.

With 60% humidity? No, it's just the effect of flushing and the plant fading, indicating that the harvest point is getting close
