Hi,
it´s always hard for us, to define the optimal distance, since it´s heavily depending on many other variables (temperature, nutrition supply, ...).
That´s why we always mention a specific range for the distance.
In fact you have to watch and read your plants. As soon as you see signs for too much light (most of the times the first signs are whitish leaf tips on the top!!! of the plant.
As soon as you have that, we suggest to increase the distance or dimm the light.
Further, if you do not care about energy consumption, I would increase the distance slightly and let it run on 100%, since you gain more homogenity in the light distribution, the furhter away your light is to the plant.
