Pineapple Express Fastbuds

This is my fist shot at hydro. I went with a simple bubble bucket set up. I’ve talked to enough people on here to build up the confidence to do so. Luckily I’ve also learned anything I can screw up, you fine folks can help me fix. Lol. This is a Pineapple Express from fast buds 420. If she does anything down the road like she has started so far I’ll be in for a treat. Just 2 days between starting germination to poking her head out. I think she’s ready to go! This week was just a normal seedling week. Nothing much went on. Went to the hydro shop and got some goodies. Thanks to LaBossa and The Bud Whisperer. Looking forward to the next week bringing some good action.

Well, she seems to have recovered from knocking to lid over and disrupting her roots. Now they’ve dropped back into the nutrient bucket and looks to be coming out of the funk. She really had me worried when I had the broken root. So much to the point I started a GG seed to replace her with, but now I guess I’ll be starting a auto GG diary.

The roots are really dropping now. The growth is accelerating finally. It’s been a learning experience for sure. My water temps have been staying down where I need them. Plenty of light. Plenty of goodies. Seems like she’s starting to shape up.

Well growth really picked up this week. So much to the point I took a gamble despite the tap root issue a couple weeks ago. I topped her. Growing fast and looking healthy I took the chance. We will see how it goes. She seems to still be growing well so far. Hopefully it stays that way. Feeling this hydro stuff out is a bit of work. Seems to be worth it so far. Yields will really tell the story. However, screwing the taproot up right off the get go sure couldn’t have helped. Time will tell. Any thoughts opinions or advice is ALWAYS welcomed. Boy oh boy where to begin. This week was a fun one. Between not being sure on root condition, and pH fluctuation, slow growth etc etc I was at my wits end. Once again our great community steps up to save my ass. So many people added advice and tips, thank you all! Special thanks to @Free_HongKong, @thebudwhisperer, and @greenmachine. This weeks ultimate winner on the save my ass contest I like to run weekly is @greenmachine. Talking to him we figured out switching my nutes saved me a FORTUNE, and the maxibloom he recommended is ABSOLUTELY the most pH stable nute I’ve seen. We also figured out my air pump was a underpowered piece of junk. So with his suggestions I bought a commercial grade 793 gpm pump. (Shoulda seen the guys at the hydro shop when I said I was doing one bubble bucket with it lol) Since making those 2 changes YESTERDAY this plant has really blown up and started looking healthy. Roots are clean and happy, the bubbles are INSANE. I was ready to give up on hydro after this, but this might actually convert my thinking. Once again, thanks everyone for the help!

Well we finally had a week without disaster! Veg is still happening, which is a little surprising. If she doesn’t start flowering this week, I might put her on 12/12 and see what happens. Plus side, she’s getting big for when flowering does come. The pH isn’t a issue any more. Nor are the roots or water temps, or anything I believe. Finally moving along.

This will be the last week of vegetation. You’ll see in the pictures a few pistils have showed up. I think most of the training is done now, so time to let her grow up and fill out. Looks like she’s got a pretty good foundation to work with. The roots have really been piling up. I’ll try to get some more good pictures of that here soon. We also did a flush with botanicare clearex today before the nutrient change. Seems like all is well finally.

Well it’s safe to say flowering has begun. She’s really piled on the size the last week. The stretch has been noticeable to say the least. Right now she’s using 3/4 gallon a day. Training is over at this point until she shows me she needs something. Im trying to lay off the defoliation right now, because the light is still shining through the canopy decently. What started as a nightmare has really turned into a enjoyable fun grow! UPDATE*** just realized up uploaded week at pics as week nines. So, week nine is now up and correct.

Another week in the books. This lady just continues to get bigger and bulking up. I’m having to add about a gallon of nutes back into the bucket once a day. I think the stretch is just about wrapped up now, so hopefully we will start seeing some mass build up on the buds soon. All in all, everything is pretty much well running like clockwork now. Just keeping the nutrients full, and flushing at the end of the week. The root ball has gotten massive like I would expect to see. I really need to get some pictures of that up here soon also.

This Pineapple Express continues to just keep on growing up and out. I’ve had to do some supercropping because I’m simply out of room. My lights are up as high as I can go, and she’s smothering the others in the tent. I’ve brought in 400 real watts of side lighting for the whole tent to make sure nothing is getting shorted. Still using about a gallon to a gallon and a half of nutrients. I introduced a very small dose of beastie bloomz this week. The smells are coming out now, and continue to get more and more powerful. This thing is really getting fun to keep up with now.

Not a whole lot going on this week. I did another flush this weekend. Everything seems to be taking shape and gaining weight the way I would hope. She’s just getting so big it’s creating issues for the other plants in the tent I ordered a new one and a new light this week. So hopefully can free up some room here soon.

This one just keeps on getting bigger, which I’m not sad about. She’s changed every aspect of my growing. Mainly due to room I had to order another tent to give her the space she needed. Awaiting a custom grow light (thanks @silverbackgorilla for hooking me up with your light guy) Other than this plant wanting to take over the world, she’s doing really well. The buds are getting more dense, the stems are all filling out. Still have a few more weeks on this one I’d say. Well worth the wait. I’ve learned so much this grow, the same as every grow. Once again the community as a whole has helped this girl along. So very thankful for growdiaries and all the cool growmies ive met over the he course of being on here. This beauty just keeps on growing! The buds are starting to fill out nicely. The smells are starting to come out. It’s surely a sweet scent with earthy undertones so far. The trichomes are starting to show quite a bit more. We’ve still got a couple weeks to go I imagine, but she’s really starting to take shape. The bud weight is beginning to be more than the branches can handle in spots. I’ve had to wire up a few of the branches. I’m going to have to switch to a more efficient way of growing hydro here soon. Moving this big Bertha around and not breaking a branch is a art form all in its own. So time to start looking into other possible hydro set ups. All in all, every thing seems to be doing well, and growing as it should.

Well, sorry about the pictures. That’s as good as it’s going to get until harvest. This thing can not be moved out of the tent anymore. She just keeps packing it on. Every day we move a little closer to being done with this one. The hairs are turned nicely, buds are still fattening up trichomes are clear, however I’m seeing them start to cloud a little now. We will see what next week brings

The final flush has begun. Most all trichomes are cloudy with some amber sneaking in here and there. She has really frosted up big time the last couple weeks. I’m not going to draw out the comments this week. I imagine a early harvest next week, so that’ll be the big one.

I decided to push this one a little further. Trichomes don’t have quite enough amber to my liking yet. I flushed with Clearex today, and now she’s just in pH balanced water. Saturday morning will be her chop day. I’m going to move her into the dark tent Thursday night to give a night cycle before harvest. This thing smells and looks wonderful. The trichomes just seem to keep packing on, but the cloudiness of them really makes them stand out. Anyway, I’ll update with the harvest next week I’m sure. See ya then.

Where oh where do we start with this grow! This was by far my best grow to date. What started as a plant I thought was doomed for death, to the biggest and most impressive I’ve grown to date. Thanks to our community this one did some amazing things. Special thanks to greenmachine, freehongkong, SBG, budwhisperer, all you fine folks contributed someway or another and I sure thank you all for that. Oh and a special thanks to my better half, she absolutely killed it on the harvest photos! Full credit to her on that! Now back to the grow. We had some serious issues in the beginning. Fox farms nutrients are not sufficient for hydro, in my opinion. Luckily greenmachine swooped in and changed my life by converting me to GHE Maxi series line. That was a GAME CHANGER and it was time to grow after that. pH was no longer a issue and she loved everything it brought. The biggest problem I had with this grow was space. She ate up my entire tent by the end of the grow. And no matter how much light I through at her, she needed more. The buds all got so heavy she had to be tied up, as you can see from the harvest pics. Lol. Ceiling fans do work in a pinch if your sure they can’t be turned on. The trimmed wet weight of this thing is crazy. 75.6 oz. Even figuring loss from drying and such this will be a nice harvest. I’ll be sure to update this as soon as I know the dry weight. Let’s face it, that’s really the number that matters. Hope everyone enjoyed this grow as much as I did. This was a ton of aggravation, learning, fun, and some more aggravation.
