Welcome to a new grow journal. This time I’m focusing on Sativa heavy strains, so I’ll need to manage their height and longer flowering period. I’ve never grown a Sativa, so that’s new. I will also be experimenting with hydro by growing a couple of plants in coco coir and the other plants in soil. Wednesday: I’m soaking seeds in RO water for 18 hours. Keeping them in the humidity dome at 78 degrees. Thursday: Transferred seeds to jiffy pellets with RO water. Holding at 78 degrees. Friday: No sprouts yet. Holding at 78 degrees Saturday: i can see activity in 4 of the 6 the jiffy pellets holes Sunday: Four sprouts above soil. No other activity visible. Moved jiffy pellets with sprouts into solo cups with coco. Monday: starting to doubt whether the other two seeds will sprout. Raised sprouts by 3 inches to increase lux to 20-22k. They were stretching too much. Tuesday: Planted another Black Jack seed in a jiffy pellet. Two seeds still unsprouted. Feel free to chime in with input or ideas....I’m still learning how to grow in coco (first time)

Looking good in here. So how is the nuts and timber working for you?

@Walty, Looks like you have had some really nice harvests. I am very close to pulling the trigger on a timber set up. We have only been thinking about it for a couple years now...lol... I'm not crazy about having to water every day so doubtful I will do the coco thing. Usually watering everyday is required towards the end of flower. That is enough for me. I may call Dan today and chat about a 4X4 timber set up. I like the redwood set up but think I would like a little more light added too it. maybe 1 or 2 more lights. 4 healthy plants in a 5X5 should give them plenty of room in there.

@Giturdun, hey man!! The Timber grow lights have been a nice upgrade. Fewer heat issues, and if anything I had difficulty keeping the grow warm enough. The nutes are simple and cheap, and I had a lot of success with them. Given the amount of water that coco uses (1 gallon per plant per day) there’s a lot of money to be spent on nutes. The General Hydroponics trio worked great and we’re pretty affordable to refill. I followed the General Hydroponics schedule but only used 50 percent of recommended levels. I also was religious about 5.8 PH on my water. Coco was a fun experience too. Overall I regret running 6 plants in my 5x5. I’m going back to four plants.

I didn’t see some of the strains. Is your raspberry cough in here too?

@Walty, Although there was a ton of smack talking going on in Rollitup concerning the Kind LED lighting, after over 4 years of using the 750W, it works perfectly fine and has produced some very nice harvests here. Averaging two harvests per year has been nice. However; I still have the itch for the timber...lol

@ThatoneAKguy, yes, the raspberry cough is top left corner and growing faster than the rest. I’ll fix my signage so you can spot her better next week.

Nice grow dude! I'm currently running raspberry cough and jock horror as well as five other strains. I'm curious to know if you used the light, medium, or heavy feeding schedule, as I am also running the same nutes as you.
