Popped these ladies in peat pods on a heat mat, then transplanted into 3 gallon fabric pots with Coco coir and earthworm castings.
Not trying to do anything fancy this grow - just trying to smoke weed and maintain, for less than $60 an eighth. . .
This week I will start adding some fox farm "Grow Big" (half strength) and a CalMag to the waterings.
Trying my best not to over-water and feel like I'm walking a fine line; my coco growing medium retains a ton of moisture. So far it's been every 4-5 days or so.
Will add more pics if I notice any affect this week (good or bad) from my intro of the nutes.
On another note, I can't decide whether to top, so I am tentatively planning on topping 1 of the 2 zkittlez (planning to top the more vigorous of the two) maybe end of this week or so.
One is short and squatty & the other is lanky showing pistils and stretching.
Had thought about topping, but too late for that.
I think it's best for the universe if I just back the ef off for now and continue to watch/let these girls do their thing
Start of week 5ish, and growth seems suboptimal and I may push some more nutes and see if that helps. By all reports this strain is quite thirsty so hopefully it's a good call. We shall see!
Apologies for the lack of photos / depth of post here -- tough week for yours truly (luckily the ladies seem to be doing OK, though) and I just need to get _SOMETHING_ posted here so I can stay consistent with this journal ish and start fresh with a better week next week.
Growers love to you all
Lots of promising bud sites on lanky plant. Squatty is getting nice dense foliage. Been pushing nutes pretty heavy and ladies seem receptive.
Update the answer re my purp stems:

Although I don't have black dog light I have UV. Kinda interesting . . .
Home quarantine means (some extra) fresh air and sun for these ladies. They are THIRSTY and it's fun to feed them. This is gonna be a good week 😎.
Full feedings on Wednesday and Sunday, and they lovin' it from what I can see.
Start of week:
Incredibly thirsty ladies. Buds small but frosty thus far. Smell is intoxicating. I'm getting very excited to see some colas soon, I hope.
Lankier plant chunking up from the outside in which I haven't seen before. Squatty is more uniform and progressive growth. I'm hoping to see some more vigorous flower growth soon but we shall see.
Switched to advanced nutrient line this week, and I'm hopeful this might take us to the next level.
Everything is looking pretty good except for flower growth - frost, scent, overall plant health all seem OK, just no flower bulk yet on many of the branches . . . .
I can't seem to get that flower bulk I was hoping for. Lankier pheno was showing about 10percent amber trichs so was chopped early this week (shitty yield at 1.5oz dried [herbsnow dryer used for quick 96 hour dry down]; smokes real fruity, and fairly potent, but I’m reserving on any judgment till both plants are chopped and blazed]).
I'm looking at squatty pheno (pictured) to bulk up and help with my otherwise-lackluster Skittles yield, but only time will tell. Unlike her sister she shows 0 signs of a natural fade at this point....
I can see the weight beginning to pack on which makes me feel very, very good. I decided to defoliate some, and tried to be careful since we are so late in flower. I may have taken a bit too much, but other than that issue I think we are really in for a treat in another week or two. Still 0 amber trichomes. Very strong fruity-skunk smell. Love it. Hope all the fellow growers doing OK out there in quarantine madness. Growers love.
I chopped just the main cola for now, to give the side nuggs a little extra time to catch-up before full harvest. With quarantine still in full effect here, I've been smoking prodigious amounts of the herb, so I don't have too much more time to mess around with this plant.
I think growing is a lot less fun when I've been worrying about producing an ample supply. One day, I hope to have a big enough stash not to worry about my grows in this way. I think it would liberate me to experiment more and just have more fun overall. So anyway, this and my next few grows will be all about building up a stash for myself. And hopefully my growing can outpace my smoking, but we shall see!
Two different phenotypes in coloring and senescence was very interesting. The buds are a pain to trim because the sugar leaves (and even some fan leaves and certain stems) are completely trichome'd out, making me think this strain would be a good extract producer maybe. I gave them as much time, attention, energy, and nutrients as I could, but ended up with a slightly disappointing yield. But hey, this one was worth a try. On to the next one.
