Start of week 2. This probably should be considered the start of veg but I already put a whole 5 min into Week 1 already so deal with it :-P. My girls were looking a little leggy and sad last week so I dropped the light to 30", which is the manufacturer's recommendation, and they seemed to respond right away. Last grow (my first, in soil) I got light burn 5-6 weeks into vegetation also at the manufacturer's recommended distance, so I guess I'll need to be more vigilant in looking for signs of it. Also, for some reason the journal won't save my daytime/nighttime/solution temps. They're pretty consistently 77/72/77 but even when I hit 'save' and everything else stays, the temps reset to 50. So who knows.

I went from 1/4 to 1/2 strength nutes this week and man have they responded! I've been able to get my RH up to 50%ish with buckets of water and a humidier but ugh. I do not like the brown gunk getting left behind by the Fox Farm nutes so I'm going to switch over to GH. I'm already seeing great improvements after the switch in my Amnesia Haze grow. Also I had some browning on the tips of the top leaves. I had the same issue in my last grow, my LED burns at the manufacturer's recommended distance. So that's bad, and also good because I choose to believe that means it's a powerful light :-). So I raised my lights to about 36" and will keep an eye on things

Holy cow, do these girls like the switch to GH! I'm starting to think this DWC thing is for real. And I love the control mainlining gives over the shape of the plant.

I went from 1/2 strength to full strength nutes this week and wow, have the girls responded. And with the GH nutes I don't get the discolored roots.

These ladies love the full strength GH nutes. I figure I'll switch them to 12/12 next week to keep pace with the AH in my other grow. I can't believe how much bigger these plants get than soil grows

Things continue to grow really well. I had a little bit of browning at the tips of some leaves right after the swtich and res change and I watched it like a hawk, but outside of 4-5 leaves on each plant, nothing else happened. I shouldn't be near the upper limit of nutes, but who knows.

Opened the grow tent the other day and the smell hit me in the face. I'm thinking the stretch time is over and not a moment too soon as I was starting to worry about space...with 3 plants in a 5'x5'x6' tent lol.

I stopped defoliating after two weeks like most guides suggested, but #3 is still putting out big fan leaves. I tuck them as best I can but some are still shading buds. Should I continue to defoliate?

Dang these girls keep putting out leaves! I keep telling myself to stop clipping them and then a couple days later most of my bud sites are shaded. Oh well, the buds seems to doing OK

No defoliation anymore, but man they sure look bushy. The smell is getting really strong and the humidity has show up like 15% over where it was in veg.

#3's at about 80/20 clear/cloudy so I'm thinking another week or so. #2 looks like she's still 2-3 weeks out at least. It's become pretty obvious these are different strains. #3 looks a lot like the Amnesia Haze it's sharing a tent with, so it's quite possible I lost track lol

Almost there! I'm anywhere from 50-50 clear/cloudy to 10/80/10 clear/cloudy/amber, depending on where I look. I can't imagine it will be more than another week.

Just cut these and put them into the water cure, so I'll have to come back and finish up later. I'm hoping I can get 3-4 water cured oz out of 16 oz wet but I'm probably dreaming. The crazy thing is I thought for sure 2's yield was much bigger than 1's would be, but no. Fewer buds, but fuller.

Hello from Russia! Your plants look good! Head in the same direction
TheUk420Show

The Vegetation period is usually judged by having two sets of true leaves Ie: atleast two sets of the iconic looking 5 blade leaf we all know and love. I would personally say this was a tad early to add to your main lighting you may stunt the growth slightly with such intense light at a young age. Though I'm sure you will be fine. all together looking great man keep up the great work :) GL with the next 10 weeks :) Oh also your PH seems to be a tad high for a DWC system that will defiantly effecting your ladies. The idea range is between 5.6 to 6.2 is ideal most people tend to set it around 5.8 for most hydro systems including dwc. In no way am I knocking you everybody grows in different ways and No way is specifically correct. You may have an issue with your temperatures too 10c is way too cold for your girls. You could also up the RH to 60%-70% to see optimal seedling/vegetative growth. Anyway tell me to F off if you want and carry on going the way you are either way wish yah thee best of luck :)

@fumble1130, Nice That will help you out alot :) You can go upto 80% RH and see nothing but good things in Veg most people keep it around 65 -70 in veg then 30-40 During flower :) I have used GH overdrive for almost 2 years I find it packs on so much weight in the last weeks and makes the nugs rock solid and quite weighty I could only imagine what FF would do along with over drive it is something I have looked into myself but I've got nothing but love for GH I havent had alot of dealings with Fox Farms Im afraid. I am currently changing my nutes to a newer company Called Hornet Hydro But will not know the out comes for a few weeks yet also with dwc being kind of new to me until Im in veg myself bee hard to tell. I know Fox have a very good reputation and im pretty sure you could argue between them until your blue in the face but I like to think this game is not a brand name game but more a personal preference of each grower. Its something really hard to tell because each brands formula is different and each strain is different and will react differently to certain concentrates of nutes. I have heard that some of the best nutes are called emerald harvest range but you need deep pockets for that and most people arnt looking to shove their wage into something thats suppose to help them save money lol. I know its a hobby to alot of people too but surley you want to see some product for your efforts even if it stops you buying locally for a month it would be a month worth of medicine for the cost of the electricity lol.

@TheUk420Show, thanks for the info! I have ordered a humidifier from Amazon and I'll go put an open bucket in the corner. I haven't considered CO2 induction because I'm a newbie :-). Thanks for the tip on silicon. Speaking of nutrients, I've been using Fox Farm but I'm considering moving to GH for my hydro and using the FF for my upcoming outdoor grows. Do you have a preference between the two? The main reason I'm thinking of switching is it seems most growers on here use GH and I want to emulate their successes as much as possible.
