This was the first to sprout out of the 4 strains started. Soaked in cup of water for 24 hrs, room temp around 25c. Seed split and was placed in rock wool. 24hrs was up with round leaves. Next day true leaves produced.
Can see shes starting her 3rd row. Impressive after only a week.
cube started showing signs of roots so placed her in the DWC setup as planing to mother her for spring before switching to flowering.
This strain has had impressive root growth from the start. After a day roots where already in the reservoir.
Added cal mag to nutrients.
As for growth herself; Shes doing well, starting 4th set of leaves and thickening up.
My DWC Setup
-12 gal shallow rubbermaid tub
-2 x 4" baskets
-2 x 4 " rockwool cubes
- 4 outlet top fin air pump
- standard aquarium air tubing
- 2 x 6" air stones
- extra 1" air stone.
Great growth so far.
Roots are healthy and multiplying.
Doubled in size over the week. Side branches started showing decided to top her yesterday (Mar 11).
Opinion of this strains beginning genetics are 5☆ with this girl performing better than all her sisters.
Pulled the Cal-Pro this week as not to over load her with trace nuits.
Rotated position of the tub to allow a full light exposure to her branches. Raised the light by a few inches.
Topped her 6 days ago. Took no time to recover and branch out.
3 - days ago cut 2 clones from lower branches.
Solution temp was getting higher than I like added a frozen water bottle to maintain a lower temp. Sitting around 15-18 now.
Swapped the water out with fresh tap water, and DNF 15/ml per gal. as the base. Then added a peice of copper, nail and few drops of cal-pro for trace.
As for growth shes still coming in first even with being topped already.
I'm going to pull couple more clones off her in few days as want to take lower branches and also top her again.
Cut a bunch (8) of clones from her 6 days ago. Have 8 main branches showing now and she's starting to bush out like crazy. As she spent most this wk recovering from topping should see some height this following wk.
Clones are doing well not much stress showing.
Had high PH Flux but did seem to hurt this girl as much as her sister. This girl has been a tank from the start. The force is strong with this one.. lol
Got the PH under control now and she seems to be liking it a lot better.
Pulled the heat mat and added 2 Asic S9i miners (bitcoin) to the room. Keeping it like summer in there and adds fresh air intake.
Clones are doing well. Rooted and starting to get new growth.
She's doing well. Havent been training her for height, just been topping. Think last time I counted was at 20+ tops. Just a bush now. Going to grow her out this next week and probably top again on wk 9. Was waiting for the autos to finish before flipping the regs to flower.
Pinched all the tops one last time. Training a few branches to grow horizontal and fill in the empty space.
Been well impressed with the genetics of this girl since day 1 and figure I would secure the genes for future. Few weeks ago cut clones and now are getting to the 1.5-2ft height. Picked 2 and named them Mommy and Mommy X.
Mommy X will be sprayed with silver starting tomorrow next 2 weeks. Will isolate both from the rest of the crop.
Started to use Dutch Science - Humates in the DWC.
Pinched a few tops going past the canopy. Tied a bunch of branches down for LST. Defoll all the bottom leaves , nodes and branches to lollipop her and make her focus on tops.
Was planning on flipping her to flower this week but going to push it few more days so can grow out the tops and sides bit more. She's going to be a beast in flower.
So not really 100% on what happened but ended up having an uncontrollable pH spike in the DWC. Sadly shes only one that got effected by it. Sister is still full of color. Would fix the pH and within few hrs be back at high 8s. Had to flush the system to fix it. Seem to have it under control but she got burned up.
Had to defolliate all the shades so wouldn't focus energy on repairing and grow more on new growth. Seems to have worked as see her starting to get color back , new growth and showing signs of going into flower cycle. See if all the color returns next week.
I started dropping the light by 1hr each day until hit the 12/12. She's on the 12 cycle now. Started giving her the bloom nuits but only a low doze. Swapped the light to HPS.
Air pump failed and she developed some root rot. Main taps were fine but 1/2 of her matting was gone and started showing major signs on the leaves n growth. Fixed the pump and lots of new healthy roots tapping into the res. Leaves are returning to there color. Think results she will only be a wk behind but may catch up with her sisters as lots of time still till harvest.
Preflowers are starting and should go into a stretch next couple weeks.
Recoving nicely and building pre flowers. Added bud candy to her diet.
Trying few new things this week. Installed sub pump 100 l/h to help circulate the solution and deposit o2 as the air stones have been swallowed by the roots.
Lights have 1200w LEDs running 3 hrs at start and end of day. 600w HID running 6hrs mid day. Cant run all at same time as pops the 20amp. Really haven't noticed any difference, would almost say behind normal growth with the HID. But as everyone says give LEDs a try.
Noticed tips burning from LED, haven't managed to get the nuits low enough for it.
Ran out of pH strips and the digital is on order. Not doing that bad for guessing, and reading the plants without one.
Shes doing great. Thought would be stunned from the heat stress but recovered fine and went into overdrive. Got about 10 inches growth this week.
Started her Nirvana regiment. Will continue to use for next 6 weeks.
Experimenting with UV-B light. Gave her an hour dose 4 days ago and again yesterday. After the first application could see the tricomes almost double after 2 hrs of it shutting off. Yesterdays application seemed to burn the tips of the hairs so think will stick to once per week. I'll continue to experiment with the uvb until can perfect it.
Bud locations are starting to fill out nicely. Counted over 50 tops figure going to be a nice yield.
Hit her again this week with the UV-B light for half an hour.
Switched her advanced nuits 3 part (grow, micro, bloom).
Shes starting to get sticky and getting a stronger smell. Buds , buds and more buds.
Pushing her overdrive and Nirvana now. Will continue that for next two weeks while doubles and creates more THC. Light Cycle has been switched to LED for a full 12 hrs, full spectrum will increase quality.
UV-B dose of 1/2-1hr per week.
Gave her a dose of UV-B for a hour this week. Buds seem to be filling out nicely. Started backbuding and gave her a huge defoliation this week. Still needs more. Hine sight hould have ScroG this girl. Oh well. Smells of fruits are coming from her.
Switched the feeding to only overdrive; Nirvana and monster bud. Will add cal pro every other feeding.
Brought her outside to bask in the sunlight ⛅. Waiting for her to fill out , taking her sweet ass time. Will probably start flushing in next week or two. Scents of fruits and citrus coming from her. Buds are sticky.
Been flushing for last week. Trichomes are milky. Flowers smell of fruits and are quite sticky. She's got her ass kicked by the heat wave 🌊 and all tips are burnt look like shat. It's about harvest time.
Harvest was good, the dirty girl ended up giving me around a pound of wet buds.
Alot of sticks and leaf still needs to come off so rounded off the dry at 225g at 62.5%.
Pretty happy with half to quarter lb. Can't wait to see how this slut tastes once I cure her.
