Day 14 finally! I've been excited to update, this watching plants grow for the first time builds so much anticipation.
The little girl stuck in her pod on day 7 I really should have helped. I noticed she was falling behind and plucked the rest of the seed pod off day 10, she has been playing catch up! I hope she straightens out, live and learn. I had read plants continue to feed on the pod as they sprout and had thought she would kick it off herself when she was done!
I got a humidifier on day 8 as planned, however it only has 2 settings, neither of which works perfect for me. I started it on high and when I came back to check about 6 hours later the res was almost empty and my tent was over 90% RH... I turned it down obviously and kept a closer eye. The low setting only keeps my tent at just under 60% and i would think i should aim higher. An inkbird humidity/thermostat pair would be in my best interest, I'll hope to pick some up well before flower!
My goal this week is too add my planned air flow in. I'm gonna find a small fan and plug in my tents exhaust fan, I may try my humidifier on high with this set up to see what that settles at! I find right now my plants shake a little from my heaters fan air bouncing around and 2 vents being opened but I want something blowing on them!
Hello I'm new, currently having humidity problems in flower. 2 of my plants have a small amount of white fuzz mold on top of the soil. I read i can try to remove it and sprinkle ground cinnamon on top and let them dry out, any suggestions on ammount of cinnamon or what I can do?
What a Great Start, you sure are off to the races now !
& Let me be the First to Welcome you to the Public Gardens of GrowDiaries !
Happy Gardening !
👍
Looks like everything is growing well so far! You're doing great. You're right that 60rh is a little low, but it's not too far from ideal and the leaves are nice and healthy. Happy growing! 👍🌱
@Cheeba_Inu, thank you! The tips of my leaves have a little curl at the moment hope I caught it early, I think I over watered just a tad or my heat was a little too high, I'll let you see how it's going on Friday for week 3 :)
Hey, cheers to your first grow. Your setup/humidity situation is similar to what I just did in my first grow that is in flushing weeks now and at first I was lucky to hit 10% in my apt.
Lower humidity means your soil is humidifying the air...plants will grow alright when humidity is hovering 50-60%.
Environment stability is important and 26 celsius should be max so use airflow to cool the plants. Your exhaust you'll notice is good to get the smell out later in flower but should get heat out too.
I made boxes using dollarstore foam boards to direct air into my vents along with fans fitted in each box to be sure of airflow but my tent is a fishing hut, check out my vent pics in week 1.
