6/12/20: Buds went in the tent to hang and dry. Will update with a smoke report after. 6/21/20: Stems were snapping so I trimmed the buds up today. Total dry period was 8 days, humidity stayed at 50-55% for the first 6 or so days, and then we had a heat wave which brought humidity levels up to 75% or so. Wasn't happy with that but what can ya do. Super happy with the quality of the buds. They are frosty as ever and my fingers were the most sticky they've ever been when handling bud while I was trimming. The top buds are really dense and even the bottom buds which didn't get as much light are still gonna be good to smoke. I put my trim bag in the freezer and I plan to grind it all up to collect the kief from it. I'm curing in mason jars with 58% RH Boveda humidity packs and the mini hygrometers in each jar. Can't emphasize how sticky the buds are! SMOKE REPORT: 6/12/20 - Just vaped some (because I'm impatient) in my G Pro and I'm nicely baked. I'm never really good at describing the high but I definitely feel chilled out and am looking forward to going to bed now. I feel a bit inspired to make a beat or something, I'm a music producer. The taste was on the sweet or smooth side but I want to wait to review taste until I actually smoke some. I will also come back to this diary after like 2 weeks of cure to see if I notice any different effects in terms of taste. It feels good to smoke your hard work! 7/2/20 - It's been almost 2 weeks (12 days) of cure and I just smoked a joint. Feeling very euphoric, happy, and goofy. I have no anxiety at the moment (which is rare for me) and feel relaxed. Definitely an indica dominant strain. The taste was exactly like it smells, which at this point is a lemony gasoline aroma. The smoke was averagely smooth and I actually did cough a few times. Could've been a drying flaw on my part, but I didn't mind that much. As far as 1-10 (1 being barely high, 10 being highest I've ever been) I'd put it at a solid 7 to high 6. I'm comfortable, noticeably laughing at more things, and I feel that almost loopy relaxed sensation throughout my body. 9/28/20: Ok so I ran out of Sour Crack about a month ago but I want to update the smoke report to about a month of cure on this strain. The nugs seemed to only ripen in smell the longer it cured. The highs were awesome. I shared some very great memories with some good friends all smoking on the Sour Crack. Sharing is caring for sure. I really loved the outcome of this plant. Nugs had noticeable trichome coverage, almost to a point where they had a white tint to them. I'm sad I ran out so fast but I was excited to share with friends and smoke it myself.

Reviews. Nutrient
I've had much success even with only 2 grows under my belt using Fox Farms. Their Ocean Forest soil is awesome and packed with nutrients to get your plants started and healthy for the first 4 weeks. This grow was my first time using their trio nutrient line and I think it made a big difference. My last grow when I used no nutes, the buds were airy and soft. This time they are super sticky, dense, and fat. I have no complaints!

Hands down a top 5 brand for me at the moment.

I had an absolute blast growing, learning, and adapting to this plant. With that said, there was not much effort on my part honestly. The genetics are incredible. This was my first time growing Mephisto but I had high confidence going in seeing as I've heard nothing but good things about them. From seed to harvest, this plant really didn't ask for much. She was super tiny and bushy and I literally never had to move the light from seedling to harvest. She took nutes pretty well except for the fact that I overfed and caused her to claw, at which point I dialed back the nutes and she was fine. She hardly reacted at all to lollipopping and she seemed to thrive with the LST that I did to her. This grow was an absolute 10/10 for me. I wish I had made a grow diary for my first grow a few years ago because the results of this one compared to that were night and day. The only reason I won't give it a 10 star review is because it's my first Meph plant and I have nothing to compare her to. My last grow was different genetics.

Wow - very nice grow! Following here since I'm going to use the same medium and nutes for my first ever grow. My ILGM seeds were majorly delayed so I am now waiting on my Meph seeds to arrive. Grateful in a way since ILGM's delay led me to try Mephisto which seems pretty solid! You planted the seed directly in the soil - even before it germinated?

@@jcbud, For sure man, looks like you still got some solid seeds! The Youtuber I'm referring to is Mr. Canucks Grow. His channel is: www.youtube.com/channel/UCtU2-cpxx18iQ4BvracrxDQ He grows a lot of plants and keeps a video journal for all of his grows both photo period and autos. Really informative channel for newbies like me. I was scared of using nutes with autos too (this grow is my first time trying it) but if you ease into it and make sure your PH levels are good then its really a breeze. If you still are hesitant, you can always use top feed nutrients meaning you sprinkle the nutes literally on top of the soil and proceed with watering normally. The grower in the channel I just linked you ONLY uses top feed nutes and has direct links in most of his videos to the nute line he uses. If I hadn't already had the FF Trio on hand I would've bought the nutes that he uses as it seems like top feeding is way easier and less stressful as a grower lol. Check his channel out for sure and let me know if you have any more questions :)

@DsTrees, it is what it is...COVID processing and April deals led them to sell out of a few seeds from my autopack so they're on their way now (I ordered on 4/10!). GTK about Meph. I might start with one ILGM and one Meph depending on when the seeds arrive. do you mind linking the YT grower or DM'ing me? Thank you and def following your progress. I might go with MegaCrop for my nutes instead of dealing with liquid nutes...but I hear autos are pretty sensitive to nutes/nute burn so I'll prob just see how the FFOF works during the first 3-4 weeks.

@@jcbud, Ah that sucks man, ILGM has some good seeds too. Meph is simply the best though or definitely in the top tier of auto genetics. I opted to plant my seed directly into the soil, yes, before germinating. I follow a Youtube grower who uses the same method and never has problems with germination which is why I decided to try that method. If you are gonna go this route just make sure not to overwater and be gentle when watering on top of where the seed is buried as to not disturb it or dig it up. I'm having good success with this setup though and I consider myself a beginner for sure, so you're in for a good grow!

Very nice! LST seems daunting but you make it seem easy :). Did you end up LST'ing 4 sides of the plant or just 2 sides/sections?
DsTrees

@@jcbud, After doing it for my first time this grow I can tell you I had the same feelings at first but once you make that first tie down it becomes really easy after. Just follow the general idea which is to spread out the canopy and make sure that outer shoots are being pulled away from the center of the plant. As for your question, I currently have 4 sides tied down on my plant but I started with 1. I just adjust as I need, sometimes I only needed 2, but now that the plant is more mature and has more shoots I've added more ties.

How heavy were you going on the Fox Farm trio? Did you use any CalMag? I'm about to pop some Mephisto Sour Crack so would love to know how they handle the nuties
DsTrees
DsTrees
@Randy_Custy, I was using about half the recommended ratio for the Fox Farms Trio. I didn't use any CalMag either. She took the nutes very well and I probably could've gone a little heavier on them but didn't want to cause any problems.

How long will you keep the humidity dome on for? 😎🤙🏼

@Puffer_Bill, Just until it sprouts! Then I will take it off and allow the fans to make her dance a little and strengthen up that stem
