Growing in organic composted 'super soil'. Have not added any additional nutrients yet. Have not done any training at all, this girl took off much faster than expected once the stretch began. Looks like she is going to be a monster.
Setup:
24x48x72 grow tent
1 Viparspectra V300 300w LED fixture
1 Viparspectra R300 300w LED fixture
1 CFL 100w (26w actual)
4” exhaust fan w/carbon filter 190cfm
6” clip on fan
Electric oil filled radiator behind air intake
Coming along strong. Tons of bud sites and the cola looks like it’s gonna pack on some serious weight over the next few weeks. Going to defoliate soon.
She's starting to fatten up after growing pretty tall. I love the way this plant has been going. I haven't done any training at all yet. I am planning on defoliating in the next week or so, but so far she is looking very healthy. Haven't added any additional nutrients this week, she's just working off of the organics in the soil. 😃
Pictures are from Tuesday and Friday (today). She put on some weight in those 3 days and the hairs have started to darken. She also looks packed full of buds! I'm guessing she still has a good 3-4 weeks to go, but looking forward to a nice harvest with this girl.
On a side note... My perpetual harvest concept does seem to be working, I have plants in various stages all going strong. But I feel like I'm running into some over crowding with 5-6 plants. I'm going to try staggering new plants on a 3 week interval and see if that helps me get to 3-4 plants at a time.
I fed her some molasses last weekend. Personally I never really notice much difference after feeding molasses but I still try feeding it 2 weeks before harvest anyway. I have beed giving her just water since then. Going to flush real good this weekend, then let her dry out til the following weekend when I am going to harvest her. That should put the harvest date right around 1/27/18, which would be a full 3 months of growth - seed to harvest.
The Blue Mammoth has been just a great plant to grow so far. I did not do anything to her except some defoliation. No bending, training, topping, etc... And she looks awesome in my opinion. She's bigger than the Girl Scout Cookies I harvested a few weeks ago, which yielded 2.6 oz.
Looking forward to harvest, cure and smoke👍
Blue Mammoth is 3 months old today and was harvested today. 440 grams wet (untrimmed and still on the branches). Going to try drying with the leaves on, then doing a dry trim this time. She smells sweet and fruity. I'll post the harvest info after she has dried and cured.
She grew for 3 full months when harvesting. She produced the most amount of weed of any plant so far. I think I may have harvested a little early and I know she dried out too quickly (3 days). Maybe that's why the taste is just average. But that's not going to stop me from smoking the shit out of this plant!😎 (I'll add some pics of the dried buds soon)
Update...
After allowing her to cure for another week she tastes and smells even better, and gets me high as hell!!! 👍 The taste is difficult to describe other than she tastes like good mary jane, very good mary jane actually. She does not have a minty, sweet, citrus, etc. taste, but tastes good as she is. The high is happy and relaxed and comes on pretty quickly, does not last too long, but not too short either. Overall Blue Mammoth is very good. I upgraded her to 8 stars.
