Seedsman Auto Lemon is the 4th round of seeds started in my perpetual garden of auto flowers. So far this plant is growing strong. I expect it to start stretching this week. I also decided to try topping this girl today and will probably bend her next week.
Growing in organic composted 'super soil', no additional nutrients added yet. Also as you can see in the pictures there is a 26w CFL (100w equivalent) about 6 inches away - this also helps provide some side lighting to the older plants.
Setup:
24x48x72 grow tent
1 Viparspectra V300 300w LED fixture
1 Viparspectra R300 300w LED fixture
1 CFL 100w (26w actual)
4” exhaust fan w/carbon filter 190cfm
6” clip on fan
Electric oil filled radiator behind air intake
She’s still in veg 6 weeks later. Growing very slowly. I’m beginning to wonder if I got a photo seed accidentally (I ordered and paid for 3 of these seeds and got 2 free, not sure if this was a freebie or paid seed). If I don’t start seeing signs of flowering in the next week or two, I’m going to have to kill it. 🙁
Week 7 and finally starting to see some bud sites starting to develop (I don't think she's going to be ready for harvest on week 8, like advertised). She also grew several inches this week. Pictures are from Tuesday and Friday.
On a side note... My perpetual harvest concept does seem to be working, I have plants in various stages all going strong. But I feel like I'm running into some over crowding with 5-6 plants. I'm going to try staggering new plants on a 3 week interval and see if that helps me get to 3-4 plants at a time.
Seedsman Auto Lemon is growing strong and stretching for the stars. She was defoliated this week, but bushed back out again. Fed her some Espoma Organic Grow this week.
Auto Lemon is rocking along now. Gave her Recharge for the first time this week. Seemed to love it! Defoliated and she bushed back out again in a couple of days. Bud sites are getting bigger for sure. Auto Lemon is back-center in the whole tent photos.
Auto Lemon is rocking right along. Bud sites getting bigger and fatter. I purchased some Fox Farms Organic Big Bloom and added it with the Recharge in this weeks feeding. Looking forward to the results. 👍
Auto Lemon is coming along beautifully 😃 Buds are fattening, white hairs are turning orange, there is frost everywhere and she smells great! Gave her Recharge and Big Bloom again today. Using Recharge at full recommended dosage and Big Bloom at half recommended dosage.
Auto Lemon is back-center in the group pics.
Auto Lemon is looking sweet. Tons of crystals, nice bud development, orange hairs, etc... She still has a couple of weeks to go, but we're getting close👍
Rearranged the tent today and moved the Auto Lemon to directly below the R300 LED (far-right in group pics)
Auto Lemon is sooo close to harvest now! Gave her Recharge only this week. All trichs are still milky white, no amber yet. Once I start seeing some amber she'll be coming down.😃
Auto Lemon is soooo close to harvest. Buds are frosty, hairs are orange, she stinks really strong, the trichs are milky white, but no amber yet. Trying to wait for amber trichs. Gave her Recharge only in anticipation of flushing soon. 👍
Coming into the home stretch here. I've been flushing for a week, going to give her one more good watering then plan on harvesting this weekend. I still don't see any amber trichomes, but I don't want the dying leaves to cause any bud rot, so amber or not she's coming down this weekend. The smell is super STRONG!!!👍
Thanks to all who answered my question on harvesting. I've been having trouble selecting an answer. I contacted GD support, hopefully they get this fixed soon.
Auto Lemon was cut down on March 17, 2018. The pics are from just before harvest. I'll add a Harvest update on GD after she's dried. But I think this might be the largest yield I've had to date. Looking forward the smoke report! 👍
I harvested a ton off this plant in the end, but she took a loooong time to harvest. The smell is very faint, but the high is nice. Definitely worth growing, but I was hoping for more of a Lemon smell/taste here.
Took a long time to flip to flower, I almost cut her down at one point. But glad I let her go, she harvested 4 oz!!! My largest harvest so far. The high is nice and happy, but the smell/taste is very bland - I don't smell/taste any lemon at all.
Hey bro, about the harvest you may do it as you prefere, it will affect the effects on the high, as it follows:
A - 40% of hairs have darken, trichomes are half clear and half cloudy : Produces a more energetic effect, and buds tend to still growing in size.
B-50-70% of hairs darken, trichomes are milk / cloudy, you get the most intense high, with most euforia - pain relief vibe.
C- 70-90% hairs have darken, trichomes are major ambar and turning, you get more CBN less THC and a more relaxing / narcotic / couch lock high.
Basically once you feel the bud has developed to full potencial is your call based on preference.
Be aware the more they go the more you have to keep an eye to potential problems in the buds.
Good luck, cheers!
@CANNASIM, Thanks, good info. I hear a lot about waiting for the trichomes to show some yellow/amber, I’ve been waiting for that this time. In the past I’d cut at this stage. Really curious what other GD friends are doing in their grows. Thanks again 👍
I just went through the same thing with my BDM. I didn’t know whether to harvest or not. Last time I let them cook I got bud rot. These autoflowers are so unpredictable sometimes. Then sometimes they’re blatantly obvious. I decided to cut my BDM and I kind of regret it. I’d let her cook a little and remove all the leaves that could potentionally rot into the buds. But I’m a novice grower. My BDM literally turned more than 60 percent orange pistols over night. Best of luck!
@jon_do Yes and no. Sure I wanna chop em down and smoke em. But I have plenty of weed at the moment so I’m not desperate. I really want to know what my fellow growers would do. For now, I’m gonna keep waiting. Thanks for your support! 👍
@islandgrows89, So far the Seedsman Auto Lemon has been growing very nicely. She took a little longer to switch to flower than I expected but that’s fine with me as long as she smokes good in the end. I have a few other Seedsman strains that I will be starting soon.
Loving your tent mate 😁I also am struggle space at moment - all it takes is one plant to slow whole system ,my gorilla was stunted now is taking up half tent 😁a few weeks and will be back on track 😉
Nice grow dude.. 16 weeks is huge when Seedsman say only 11 weeks from seed to harvest... I'm also doing a Auto Lemon but outdoors on 12/12.. Surprised your comments in regards to smell as mine is like a bowl of lemons on the fingers when you rub the stems, so nice!!
Thanks for sharing 🤙
Still curing, but over 4oz after drying/curing for 10 days. 💪
Still tastes wet when smoked. I'm going to wait for her to cure some more before posting the Harvest & Smoke report.
@Germbucket, they are nice and dense and get me high AF. But very little smell/taste. My dry/cure seems to be the weak link. But I literally had a new idea on what I hope will be better a few minutes ago. Will be trying it with my Mexican Airlines after chopping her this weekend. Fingers crossed
Recharge works!! Noticing nice results after 24 hours. Looking forward to seeing what happens after 48 hours! 👍
Will post pics with the next weeks update.
