End of week 3 from seed.
She's been FIM'd a week ago and has recovered nicely. Not planning on doing must LST or scrogging so this will be fairly simple.
4 Weeks in and 1 week into transition for my girl. I opted not to do any real LST or a serious scrog since I'm already sitting on a bunch of White Widow dry smoke. Just did a simple FIM two weeks ago and started a transition 1 week ago. Only did a tiny bit of training to open canopy a bit. Shooting for a medium sized plant
First full week of flowering after transition. Now we are off to the races and the little buds are starting to form up nicely. I've even started to notice the first traces of trichromes appearing. With luck she will have a nice dusting of trichromes by the end of the next week.
Second full week of flowering down in this harsh Massachusetts winter raging outside. This room has come through a bit better and I only suffered a tiny bit of fox tailing from heat. Errored on the side of caution and bumped the temps up in the room to counter the -26f outside.
Frost frost everywhere! Its always good to see frost appearing out on fan leaves 😍
Sar far so good as she appears to have weathered the extreme weather fluctuations going on outside. My poor heater and humidity controls have been working overtime in this grow room! She did seem to really drink up some more water than I would expect at this point given my setup. She also appears to want me to back down on the nitrogen a bit more than I am used to as I've noticed some ever so slight clawing on a few tiny leaves. Slight adjustments and into the next week!
I really really REALLY need to ditch the lazy routine I've developed with my grows and get back to some decent training and defoliation. All in all though I think the bud structure is forming up nicely and with luck by the end of next week things should start looking a fair bit more connected and solid. The initial buds forming have an extremely hard dense feel to them so no whispy buds here! Woot! (pH meter in pic showing readings from a small bucket I was spot checking, not the res for that plant at the moment.
She's rocking right along still and the buds are filling in nicely. The bigger buds are long and filled with nice tight and dense buds. I couldn't be happier with the structure of the buds so far. The aroma is super strong now! Time to hook up the carbon filter again.
First week down in the second month of flowering. She is plumping up nicely now and since I neglected to SCROG I'm starting to add some needed support to the branches. Smell is amazing as usual with the white widows.
We are certainly coming into the final stretch with this lady. The buds are so dense and the smell is amazing. Even the small buds in the undergrowth are nice and dense so I'm excited to have what looks like a good amount of fodder for my cooking.
Closing in on being done and I'm eager to get it chopped and down. A new hydro setup is waiting to take its place! Its easy mode flood and drain for this guy.
My phone camera sucks, or I suck... there is a combination of sucking going on in those pictures. I need to invest in an actual camera.
All long trip down as she finished up about 55 days from flip. Glistening in nice milky trichs! White Widow is one of my favorite strains as it is so easy to grow and usually yields very nice buds that are super tight. This plant didn't disappoint in that regard as the buds can be used as weapons! Very dense and fragrant.
I think I would have let it go a bit longer if I were not up against a family trip next week. Oh well, it came out great!
White Widow will always be one of my all-time favorites! Love that flavor.
Very lightly clipped plant pics below. A better trim will happen soon. I'm tired!
All in all growing the strain was fairly straightforward. Using the Growdiaries site made things a ton easier as it is a convenient way to track everything in one central spot online.
I'll fill in the dry weight information as soon as I have it. I'm going to guess in the neighborhood if 10-13oz dry.
Using a pair of sunglasses used for working under HPS as a filter for the camera. Does a better job of a regular picture but the color shift is still far from perfect. Oh well.
@MassEric,do you take photos with a smartphone? because with almost all you can change the balance of white with several modes: incandescent lamp / fluo / daylight etc
it helps a lot 😊
I wish you all could smell the pictures. It went from mild to wild in here over the past week. She's really starting throw out all kinds of trich's and along with that, the smell is becoming VERY strong. I just love that White Widow smell.
Whats up Mass Eric. This is looking pretty darn beautiful :D
This girl is gonna finish as an absolute monster of bud once you are done with her. Great
work :D
@DabCrab, Thanks! I love the nice tight buds WW usually produces. With luck, by the end of next week I should have a firm idea of what the bud structure is going to feel like.
She sure did pack on some weight my friend and you can see from the picture's how densely structured those buds were :)
Thank you for a great diary and enjoy that dank and frosty looking OG kush :)
All the best
