This is my first Photoperiod plant to grow indoors. I chose a 1:1 strain, since I am interested in processing most of it into oils and a good little CBD is always helpful. My last grow from Humboldt went well and since I like the Blue Dream she seems like a good one to try. While obsessing over different growing techniques, I came across two journals on the 420 Magazine: Dutchmans Grow Journal and also Asesino85s. Asesino85 is calling this training method QUADLINING and the results look amazing. In this diary I try to document, how well or not this worked out for me and my plants π
Week 0:
I like to soak my seeds in a Hydrogen Peroxide solution for 12-24 hours and then move them to a warm & dark place inside a ziplock with a paper towel soaked in the same solution until a tap root shows.
Quick info on the solution: 1 ounce/28ml hydrogen peroxide 3% in 1 pint/473ml water - google for this article as reference: How Does Hydrogen Peroxide Affect Seed Germination? I am doing this, since the first time I lost 6 seeds with regular methods. My guess is, it wasn't warm enough. So now I add a heat mat to avoid that mistake, but still go with the peroxide, since superstition :)
3 days after soaking & paper towel, the tap root was long enough to be put in a jiffy and join the big ladies (my last Roadtrip grow) in the tent. She was roughly 60cm away from the light, on a heat map still and in small plastic house for humidity.
Call it Day 1, when the first real leaves are showing π
On Day 3 her tap root showed at the bottom of the jiffy, so I thought it's a good idea to repot to a small plastic pot. I watered her a little and added a humidity dome. I didn't think about the different environments needed for my plants inside the tent. So while the seedling needs lots of humidity, my other plants in flowering don't. Have to think of this next time.
What I also noticed is my impatience, it's awful... Since not pretty much is happening in the first couple of days, I tend to overthink everything and also do things, that might stress my plants. Here comes the overthinking part: I put her in a small plastic pot, watered a little with PH water (approx. 300ml). 3-4 days later the soil was still wet at the bottom. I blamed the plastic pot and was worried she might be overwatered. I really like fabric pots and never had to think of overwatering so far. So I ordered a small fabric pot to repot again.
Looks beautiful! Well doneπ. I've left plants in the dark for 3 days before the chop with no problems. Now onto other critical steps...the dry and the cure. βοΈπ»πππ₯.
Thanks @DeaneR and you say it, still trying to optimize the drying game. One part of the plant I already processed into a fresh cut oil. The rest is drying in the tent and fridge. Canβt wait π
@starke, wow, the coloration of the leaves is astounding, I LOVE THIS COLOR! π You did a great diary with AMAZING pics here! GREAT job, keep up the good work! ππ
Thank you @stonedjeasus, indeed with lots of love πThe strain is 10% CBD and 10% THC, I don't want to harvest too late to get all the good things out of her. I hope she will have some more time. Have a good day βοΈ
Thanks @Cr8grow βοΈ I'm happy too and the baby box is amazing, I just got a better light and the box is now ready to home 4 Autoflowers up to harvest, yeay. Go build one too, it's fun. Happy weekend βοΈ
Hitting mid bloom with our Blue Dream CBD and looking in great shape π€
Good luck with the rest of the flower show my friend π
We will keep dropping in as you update your diary π
Watching with interest from Humboldt County βοΈ
Kind regards
Team-HSO...
@Humboldt_Seed_Organisation, Nice, that's good to know, thanks. She's nearing some more cloudy than clear. Should be in a good time frame then. Have a good day βοΈ
@starke, With high CBD strains we have found through lab testing that the CBD % starts to degrade and turns into other cannabinoids such as THC, CBG and CBN when the glandular trichome heads start to turn Amber π
I like to harvest with only 2-5% Amber 85-95% still cloudy with 2-5% still clear π€
That should work out perfect mate π
Stay safe out there π
Kind regards βοΈ
Team-HSO..
@Humboldt_Seed_Organisation, Thanks guys, very excited for this grow. Lot's of good things to come from this great strain. How is your experience growing it, do you harvest earlier due to the CBD content? Have a good Sunday βοΈ
@starke, as this is just my second grow, I never used anything else than BioBizz. And it seems to work fine for me. Honestly I think that "every nutrient line is the best one"; if you find something that works for you, I see not need to change. I think there is a lot of voodoo and superstition involved also. Reminds me of people who can hear the difference of a 1.000$ cable in their stereo set π
@Buddha2, you're welcome, try a small bottle, you won't need much. This is my 6th plant in total using this and 1/3 is left. I use at 1/3 to 1/2 of the recommended dose. In another forum, everyone is raving about Megacrop by Greenleaf Nutrients (https://greenleafnutrients.com/product/mega-crop/), have you heard of it? I've ordered a free trial package and will try with one of my next grows. It's a one-stop-solution with a little calmag added, I like the idea of that. Have a good day and thank you to you too, you're very kind, it's a joy meeting people like you online, incredible value added βοΈ
@starke How did the harvest go mate?
We hope you are enjoying this CBD enhanced creation π
Beautiful work and a well deserved harvest π€
Kind regards βοΈ
Team-HSO..
Absolutely phenomenal work with our Blue Dream CBD π€
Check out the size of those CBD rich flowers and those colours popping through are simply, gorgeous π
Not to much longer and you'll be well rewarded π
Please stay safe and don't forget that pre harvest update π
Kind regards βοΈ

@Humboldt_Seed_Organisation, you say it π This plant is such a beauty, not to forget her smell and hard buds, wow πͺYou have done an amazing job, thanks for following along, that's nice. Day 60 of Flower today, updating some photos later and can't wait to have another look at her trichs. Happy day βοΈπ
Looking great! Nice buds forming π. The triangle shape is interesting π. I think I'll try the quad method in a future grow. Check out my White Sugar OG diary and my Mango Sapphire diary. I'm experimenting with a couple of training methods. Goodluck going forward, you're on your way to beautiful harvest.
@DeaneR, thanks, I'm very happy π Definitely check out the Quadlining threads on 420 Mag, much better explanation then mine, I'll send you PM with the link. And also, don't do the same mistakes as I did. Happy growing π will check your 2 Ladies. Have a good day βοΈ
@Psilocubensis, I like it. Was thinking about adding silica, heard it's good and helps with strong roots and other benefits. Heaven seems to have amino acid like silica and that's what I had at hand. Amino acids allow the plants roots to do 1000 x more chemical reactions than normal. Since using it, I had great root growth through my fabric pots, which is supposed to be a good sign.
