First grow, bought Hindu Kush, Critical Jack, and got Snow Ryder test seeds. All relatively small plants and fast bloomers. I searched around for some good nutrients and landed on Plagron (root, grow, bloom). I'm eager to see if all the nutrients have a significant effect on the end result. Bought a seedbox for optimal soil + nutrients. The idea is to add water to the nutrients (1:1) and let the patches soak all the liquid up before planting the seed in the hole. 12 soil patches were included in the packet (too much for me to use at once) so I took 8 out to use another time and divided the nutrient and liquid by 3. The Seeds are set for germination and will be set to mature on my balcony. Time till harvest should be up to 3 months. On day 7 now, the instructions of the seedbox say to plant to a bigger pot when the roots grow from under the patch, however, my fabric pots (11L) haven't arrived yet. The parcel service is busy due to corona. So I have potted the girls in something a bit bigger in the meantime. I used Plagron Growmix with Perlite for soil, as it is recommended for beginners. The soil contains Plagron Terra Grow nutrient for the first 3 weeks. I will be complementing with Plagron Power Roots 1ml/l.

The girls are getting used to their environment. Unfortunately, this week wasn't very sunny, so they began stretching a bit. Fabric pots I ordered came in, but I think ill wait it out a bit longer till the girls thicken up just a bit more before I plant them into the huge pots and set them outside on the balcony. Still mixing Plagron Power Root 1ml/l and the soil contains Plagron Terra Grow for 3 weeks, usually, 5ml/l. I hope it will get sunnier next week!

The sun was shining, and the girls were enjoying every minute of it. I put them on a book, so I can move them during the day to the location in the house with the most sun (quarantine got me sitting at home, so I might as well make the best of it). On day 18, side branches started showing. The smell of the Hindu Kush is stronger than the others. She's also the fastest grower. One of the Snow Riders tends to shrivel in the evening a bit more than the others, looking a bit unhealthy, but nothing serious. They're almost ready for their fabric pot. Still mixing Plagron Power Root 1ml/l and the soil contains Plagron Terra Grow for 3 weeks, usually, 5ml/l.

I've potted the girls in their 11 L pot, to start training them and set them on the balcony. The weather was not as sunny as I hoped for, but the plants responded well to the balcony. In the evening I still put them inside. I bought a metal wire to LST the plants but as I couldn't get the wire through the fabric pot I just used some tent herrings to help the girls lay down and enjoy the sun. I know it cant be good for the roots, but I haven't got anything else at the moment, as I don't want to destroy my pots with huge wholes, so this will have to do for now. LST is going very well. Every morning I've been training the plants to lay down and give the side branches more light, laying them flat and curling them further around the pot the next day, as they bounced right back after a day in the sun. Still giving the girl's Power Roots from Plagron 1ml/l and the soil contains the equivalent of 3 weeks of Plagron Terra Grow 5ml/l. Things that stood out were the thickening of the stems. They doubled or tripled in thickness in just a couple of days, furthermore, I've observed some hairy armpits. Which tells me the girls are starting to bloom! Day 28 will be the last training day. As the side branches are beginning to develop at an increasing rate and are catching a decent amount of sun.

It was a sunny week, and the girls spent some great hours in the sun. I felt I should remove some big leaves, so the smaller branches can get more sunlight. This resulted in the big pile of leaves in the picture. At the end of the week, the plants really grew back in their form and are really starting to develop bushy branches. All and all I'm happy with the result. Still mixing Plagron Power Root 1ml/l and the soil contains Plagron Terra Grow for 3 weeks, usually, 5ml/l.

The weather was hot and sunny. The plants were mostly outside to absorb as much sun and warmth as possible. for their sizes, they were drinking a lot! big leaves were blocking sunlight5 on the side branches to I had to trim the girls twice this week. Very happy with the result, as the side branches really started to catch up. I'm the proudest of the Critical Jack, which has formed the best due to the LST with 3 main branches and is developing beautifully during the first part of the flowering phase. The Hindu Kush is flowering together with the Critical Jack at a rapid speed. The two Snow Ryder's seem to be very different from one another. One is big bushy and flowering, and the other is a lot smaller (about half the size of the other) and not flowering yet. Maybe a mistake with sorting of the seeds? In any case, I am thinking about FIMing the smaller, non-flowering plant. Not sure if I will. It's also possible that I will give the smaller plant to someone by next week. We will see. Still mixing Plagron Power Root 1ml/l and the soil contains Plagron Terra Grow for 3 weeks, usually, 5ml/l.

This week was all rainy and cloudy, so unfortunately not a lot of UV for the girls to absorb. But it didn't seem to phase them, as most of them underwent a growth spurt! The stems thickened significantly and the flowers are really beginning to develop. All and all, very happy with the way things are going. However, one of the two Snow Ryders has a major growth deficiency and has not begun flowering yet, in spite of getting exactly the same treatment as the others. The Hindu Kush has big flowers on the main branch and is beginning to form flowers on all the side branches as they are all catching up due to LST. I'm beginning with substituting Plagron Terra Grow (5ml/l) with Plagron Terra Bloom (5ml/l) in the upcoming week. As the Terra Grow is finished, I will not continue supplementing the last Snow Ryder that has not begun flowering yet.

These brownish forms appeared on some leaves recently. I cannot find any trace of insects. Does anyone know what this is, and how I can stop this from happening?

I had this problem too, these are leaf miners. You should def. take action. You can crush the larvae by pressing the leafs with your fingers. Also you can use a mixture of neem oil to protect your leafs and kill the miners. You can take a look on my diary where i asked the same question and got some really good replies on it. I used the neem oil solution and it works well as of now. growdiaries.com/diaries/63065-dutch-passion-auto-duck-grow-journal-by-killuminati Good luck!

Last week I had some leaf miner problems. I didn't recognize what was going on right away. so they were able to spread to quite some leaves. I asked a question here to find out what I was dealing with and removed all the infected leaves the same day. The SR that doesn't want to bloom was the most affected, but all the plants had some leaf miners on them. Must have taken off at least 40 leaves, but the girls still look bushy and are going strong! Buds are forming at an increased rate. Especially on the CJ. She really looks amazing. Leaves sticking outside of the buds look all snowy from all the resin. I mixed 2 tbsp of oil and 1 tbsp of eco-friendly dish washing soap in 500 ml of water and sprayed the plants and let it dry. The mixture forms a coating wherein the leaf miners suffocate and die off. I haven't seen any after that, so I think we're golden. The HK isn't developing as much as I would want to see. Buds on the main branches are looking a bit smaller, and are being vastly overtaken by CJ. Unfortunately, the week wasn't really sunny, so not a lot of UV for mah ladies, but the forecast looks good for next week, so I hope to see some progress on the next update. I included some mobile-friendly pics up this week, as I heard that landscape mode was bumming people off on their phone ;-)

Ok, so I definitely learned a lot this week. It all started after my Plagron Terra Grow was finished. I thought to myself I would sit the rest of the grow out without buying new newts, as this feeding regiment was in line with the Plagron recommendation, but my girls were starting to show deficiency quickly and I'm not even close to harvest so I had to act, and as I see all the growers here give an amount of growing nutrient even after blooming has started I decided to do so as well and order me some quick! While I was browsing I found that PK 13-14 would increase my yield and produce compact buds, so I thought I'd try it as well. Furthermore, I've watched the: "Cannabis Super-Cropping: Kyle Kushman's "Chiropractic" Plant Training Method/ Green FLower" video and was really impressed by his training methods and how he was shaping his plants to produce big colas by removing all the "suckers" and "satellites". This guy clearly knows his way around girls! And as I looked at my novice trimming style with my girls I spotted a lot of leaves that were blocking light from reaching buds and mini buds that would never have time enough to ripe, and would have kept stealing energy from the main buds, so with a heavy heart I decided to do a (very) late and heavy trim to fix what I can even if that meant I had to sacrifice some mini buds, I figured the late trimming would redirect the plants' energy the right way, even if a bit of energy would have been wasted on the trimmed mini buds. However, my SR that is still not blooming has had a really big makeover Kyle Kushman style and I'm eager to find out how this plant will further develop! Next time I would go about it in a whole different way for sure, but I guess learning is part of the deal, and it makes the whole growing process more fun as well!

Going on vacation! will be gone for nine days. CJ is getting close, so flushing will probably start when I get back. Got a loop to see what color the trichomes are, but it's harder then I thought. They're still pretty small and it's difficult to make up if they're clear or milky or even amber. Closeups are made with a Galaxy Note 10 AND the loop for extra magnification. Not very clear, but it's the best I could do.

Back from vacation and the buds on CJ look much thicker! SR has developed significantly as well! Will begin flushing for CJ. SR which hasn't flowered yet is growing very rapidly as I've begun feeding him nutrients together with the others. Started one week flush for CJ whereafter I will harvest!

One SR had been harvested. The other has just started blooming, but it seems to have some kind of deficiency. I tried looking at the roots, loosening them up a bit, but the brown tips keep spreading! HELP!

Looks like underwatering or wrong P.H values that mess with nutritient deficiencies.
