Growing 8 regular (non feminized) seeds I found on a pretty good weed I bought.
Decided to give them a try.
Planning on keeping 2.
Grew way too many plants to start off with. But also wanted to experiment with some techniques like mainlining.
Seeds just germinated a week ago. Planted them and the’re growing.
Transplanted to 1 gallon pots (should have planted here to begin with)
Using paper cups from take outs was a big mistake. The roots stuck a lot to the paper and it’s joints.
Decided it was time to start topping and mainlining.
Topped 3 and removed grow below 3rd node.
Topped another 4 and left grow under the 3rd node for a couple of days. I was seeing how the strain was reacting. Then I cut to follow maibline procedure.
I wanted to experiment with one.
Left 3rd and 2nd node. Topped all 4 colas straight away and removed leaves almost completely
Was going to top Red, the one in the red coffee container.
I saw it starting showing signs of sex. And unfortunately it looks like a male.
It was the strongest growing plant of the lot.
Out it goes.
04/30: 2 more plants showed male signs. Took them out.
Transplanted the remaining 4 into Airpots. Gave the experiment away. It will go exteriors.
Out of the 4 I plan on keeping 2. We’ll see how they go.
05/01: topped for the second time and replaced LST wire.
05/06: Did the last topping and Lst the branches as much as I could, on the two plant on the left. The stems are quite rigid. So can’t bend them too much.
05/08: 3rd and last topping on the remaining 2 plants(on the right)

How do I choose which plants to keep in the tent?
I’d like to keep 2 of the 4. The other 2 will go outdoor in 20 days. So might top again
2 the right have been growing thicker. Bushier, a bit bigger fan leaves. But a bit slower.
2 on the left skinnier, longer braches. A bit quick
hi, i would choose depending on the strain.. i guess you're limited by height, so i would also suggest taking the ones that grow taller/are more on the sativa side (they usually grow taller) and move them outside.
they will get stretchier anyways, and then you'll have more space (if vertical space is a limitation)
else i'd also look whether all of your strains are meant for outdoors.. some don't really like that (with most it doesn't matter)
Normal week of recovering from the last top. Growing strong.
Going to upgrade the space pretty soon. Ordered a 4’x4’ tent. Thinking of keeping them all finally. 😅
Im planning on giving 2 plants to a friend (exterior) and keeping 2.
Currently they are on 18/6.
I’ve read June is the best time to take them out. And that I should “sync” my lights with the exterior sunlight.
Can I reduce to 16/8 and not have my plants start flowering?
Hello!
Yes you can take them outside and you don't need to sync anything. The day you put them outside will just have a little bit longer day or night for one day and then its synced. When you do this just be sure not to give 12hrs or more of uninterrupted darknes 'cos that is when the plants start to flower.
So for the other question: Yes they will continue their vegetation with 16/8 lights cos like I said the plant will start to flower only when there is 12hrs of complete darkness. I've read tho that some strains might flower with 14/10 but not sure about this
Start of the week normal.
I wasn’t really able to open up the nodes after the last topping. The nodes were quite hard and short and I broke one trying. I put some soft wire holding it together and and I let it heal. It fixed it’s wound and is back growing.
Waiting for a bigger tent to be delivered to be able to give them some more space. Should be here end of the week.
It would be great to have it now.

Finally upgraded to a 4x4 tent. I can keep all the babies now.
I think they might have another week of veg and I’ll switch to flower
Added a net for a day to try and make them widen a bit.
05/30 switched the lights schedule to flowering.

I think I need to upgrade my lights too. 😅
Looks like the Phlizon 1000 is good for a 2x2 area. So 2 of them good for a 4x2 area. I would need to buy 2 more to fit my grow room.
I think I’m going to go with quantum boards. Looking into the Samsung lm301b.
How much should I defoliate?
I already removed the first node that grew after the last topping. But the second node is now very cramped in there.
Should I just remove it and leave the 3rd, 4th and 5th node (growing now)
I wouldn't do any more toppings. What you want is to remove everything in the shade and under 3 nodes on each stem this will focus growth to the top 3or4 nodes of all your branches. And then in 3 weeks time make another assessment. 👍🌱

Having to water them everyday now. Otherwise the leaves become very droppy.
Thinking of installing a drip system
One of the plants seems further ahead in flowering. Grew taller than the rest and is already showing orange and curled pistils
Starting to get some very fruity smell.
Wondering what this Dark Star was fertilized by. Seems like some sort of grape or purple strain.
Buds are getting thick and big.
One of the plants is more advanced. More brown pistils Around 20%. The other 3 have about 5% brown pistils.
One of the plants seems to be falling. Not touching the sides yet. But getting close.
Wondering what my options are to keep it up.
7/16: I hang a piece of net I had from the light to keep those buds up. Without support some colas were bending 90 degrees.
It’s not pretty but I think it will do the trick
7/18: Another plant had the colas starting to fall down. So just decided to install the whole net. Not easy on 32 nearly fully developed colas. 😅

Pretty sad news. I found some rot on some buds. Decided to cut them off. Hopefully it doesn’t extend no anymore.
I have found some mold in some main buds. (Too humid in my tent)
I’ve cut them off.
Anything else I can do to stop the spread?
Apart from trying to get the humidity down?

Your photos look great this week. You did good by pulling the buds out that have the mold so it won't further . Id go in and do a good defoliation, less leaves less transpiration, lowers humidity. Then increase the airflow all around the buds heavily, open any extra ports for fresh air. If you don't have an exhaust or intake i would get some usefu?
Crazy start of the week.
My humidity levels have been pretty high. So 2 plants developed bud rot on some of their colas. Had to cut 7 colas out. Pretty sad to chop them off.
I got a huge dehumidifier and brought the humidity at around 45%.
Hopefully it doesn’t extend to other plants or colas. So close to harvest!
After fighting against some mold Last week that took 8 colas it looks like the plants are recovering. Still have 26 colas and a lot of weed underneath to collect. Looking forward to it. Hopefully no new issues arise.
08/06: started to flush.
Another week of flowering!
It’s a long flowering strain apparently.
Managed to get temp and humidity to 24C and 40%. Looks like I got rid of the bud rot for now. Fingers crossed.
The buds are starting to swell up and to foxtail. Also some purples appearing but. I’m not too sure if that’s LED stress, or burn, or the strain itself. Maybe a combination. They have been smelly very fruity for a couple of weeks too. Like grape, blueberry or similar...
Discovered some seeds in some buds. So I’ve found 2 out of the four plants (for now) to be hermaphrodites.
I thought it might have been the stress of two weeks ago, when they got bud rot. But on the lower canopy I’ve seen a fully mature seed. So that fertilization must have happened longer than 2 weeks ago.
Maybe it was the stress. But I believe these seeds, that I found in a dispensary weed, came from a hermaphrodite themselves.

Around 10% amber trichomes on the top buds. Less on the lower ones.
Plus still a lot of white pistils.
A lot of leaves are drying. But doesn’t seem to be affecting the buds. Just the bigger leaves on them.
08/20: One plant looks done the other 3 seem like they could use another week.
Not going to water the one that’s ready and harvest it in a day.
08/22: Harvested one of the plants. The buds were nice and frosty with around 30% amber trichomes.
One of the remaining 3, the biggest one (far left) is showing a lot of male flowers within the buds.
08/24: Watered and will leave the plants 48 hours in darkness before harvest.
08/27: Harvested the remaining 3 plants. Time to dry!
I overdried the weed in fear of mold. Which appeared none the less. Which confuses me a little. Not sure if it was there to start with or it appeared during the dry.
Plas: 180g
Pretty dense buds. First one to cut.
Overdried so not as pungent smell like the rest.
Primus: 172gr
Quite bushy plant. More “indica”smell than the others. Found a tiny spot of mold in one of the colas.
Jelly: 162g
Bud rot appeared on all main colas that I dried. 6/8 that remained after the first appeareance of bud rot and chop.
The most fruity smelling of the bunch.
Plis: 221g
The biggest of the bunch. Beautiful crown shape. Fruity and pine smell. No bud rot appeared on this one. But did “hermie” more than the rest. Creating a lot of “bananas”
Overall pretty happy with the result for a first grow. Followed the mainline tutorials found online and got quite impressive results. I didn't find one for the flowering process, which I think I should have trimmed even more lower branches, stems,....to lollipop the plants even more.
Went from a 2x2 to a 4x4. From a smaller 1000w COB (which felt like 150w) to 2 of them (which still wasn't enough for a 4x4) to a GeakBeast 600w (which I'm pretty happy with)
I feel like the plants could have used a bit more space. Next time I might try and do 3 plants. To have a bit more control over the environment too.
Also I don’t think I’ll be flowering in the peak of the summer anymore. Rookie move. 😅
Very good learning experience. Looking forward to the next.
PD: As my weed overdried I laid it in a tray in my grow tent with humidity at 60/65%. Prob messed the curing process but it's a good moisture for smoking.
