This will be my backyard guerilla growth for 2020: 3 x Auto Mazar from Dutch Passion 3 x Purple Punch Auto from BARNEY'S FARM 1 x Gorilla Glue from Fastbuds 1 x White Widow Auto from Dinafem 1 x Critical 2.0 Auto from Dinafem I have started them up inside in a germination tent under flourescent tubes and will transplant to pots outside when the weather allows. I bought the seeds and will be using coco coir and some NPK - nothing fancy. Observations: - The Auto Mazar seedlings all had slightly burned tips. All other plants looked fine, so I expect this strain is more sensitive to light/ph/feeding. - Barney´s Farm seeds didn´t seem that stable - I struggled a to save 1 of them and my pineapple express never germinated. I love the BF genetics, but I´ve had the same germination problems with their seeds last year. - The White Widow needed some help to get out of the husk. I expect that the lack of ligfht made it grow a bit stalky.

I made a mistake, but I don´t think it will be too costly. I used coco coir, but added a little unfertilized topsoil to the mix - juuuust to get the PH down a bit. I noticed that small light green spots started showing on the plants. Also a few plants had small nute burns to the tips. I checked the drain-of and PH was below 5... Since I didn´t have PH up, I used baking soda and brought the PH up to around 5.5-6.0 in the drain-of. I have observed a huge difference between the plants in terms of development - there´s an entire note in difference between some. The biggest plant right now one of the Mazars, but the Gorilla is right behind it. I´m excited to get these questions answered: 1.) Which strain will provide the largest average yield per week invested? 2.) Which seed company is the most precise/honest in terms of their description? 3.) How will the different strains handle the transition to the outside? Stay frosty ❤️🦄

I transplanted the girls to their final pots and a bigger grow room while waiting for the summer to come. This week I will gradually introduce them to them to the sunlight in a small outdoor greenhouse until it gets warm enough.

It´s mid May and the girls are having a ball in the greenhouse - 8 to 10 hours of sunlight every day. May month is still cold where I live, so they spend the nights indoors in the growtent with lights on. Moving them back and forth gives me an idea on when to water them. I haven´t fed them since the transplant (1 week ago) and will wait some more days until they are properly hungry. Then it´s full dosis grow nutes until pistils appear.

The girls are growing up so fast - and with pistils starting to show, they are loosing their innocence as well 🤭 I´m still using the greenhouse, but it´s not just a matter of temperature, but also of hiding them away from prying eyes. I have covered the greenhouse in shadow paste, but it doesn´t work properly on soft plastic, so it appears more like droplets of moisture when looking from the outside. It does however give them some privacy - I have added tomatoe and melon plants in there, so it appears more innocent than it really is.

I´ve had quite a few grows, but the story is always the same: I tend to get nervous that my plants are not performing - that they are a bit flimsy - that the flowers are too small - that the side branching is not working out. I think it´s a psychological thing from watching the plants every day and not realizing just how much they are growing. This is where the growdiaries platform and tracking my grow has helped out. Looking back through the weeks, I´m now learning what can be expected from week to week. It´s almost June and there´s no more cold nights in my region - the girls will be sleeping out from here on out. Pistils are now showing on all strains. The Auto Mazars have been slow to show pistils while the White Widow was the fastest by far - this came as a total surprise to me. I will gradually add more blooming nutes and accelerators over the next few weeks.

I took advice from a fellow grower here on growdiaries and tied down the side branches on my plants. It didn´t occur to me since I have usually only done this with indoor grows. The side branches have stretched out beautifully and the young flowers are following the sun, so I´m really happy. Thanks AsNoriu 👍 The bad news is that the rain is coming, bigtime. At least a full week of rain, lowering temperatures to around 15-16 celcius / 59-62 fahrenheit in the day and 7-9 celcius / 45-49 fahrenheit in the night time . I´m using a soilless medium, so some nutes will be flushed out. I´m not sure if I should put all the plants inside the greenhouse. They will fit, but it will be cramped, so it will probably hurt the side branching. I´m growing sunchokes in front of the greenhouse. They will develop into a tall (2-2.5/6-7 feet) green wall with beautiful yellow flowers - and they taste amazing if you know how to cook them properly (and I do 😁) They will serve as a natural camouflage for the time when I remove the greenhouses in about a month. I want all the girls to get some proper air circulation around the buds later on, so I can avoid too much budrot and get some strong herbs.

Rain is coming - about 60-70mm over the next week. I know rain won´t hurt my plants, but I´m growing in a soilless medium, so it will flush out the nutes, right? Place the plants inside? Add more nutes? Any best practice is greatly appreciated. Thanks 👍👍

kinda, but the nutes in the ground exist too... it won't just wash away in one rain. it likely will be more dilute, of course. apply nutes afterward, and all is well again. could cover them from rain.. but that seems like a PITA with potentially limited benefit for such efforts. i think this'll be a non-issue for you.

I tied down the plants, not just the side branches, but the top as well - and there´s a reason. The plants are placed in a corner of the garden, so they will only get sun from one side - therefore I decided to arrange the bud sites relative to the sun. Observations so far: - The Purple Punch Autos are not doing so well. They have started to show yellow tips. I will give them less nutritious meals over the next period of time to see if it will help. - The White Widow XXL Auto was the first to bloom of all the strains - it has been looking healthy all the way. Flowers are developing nicely. - The Critical + 2.0 Auto is the shortest plant by far reaching only 70 cm or so, but it´s stocky and bud sites are closer together than any of the other plants. It is flowering fast now and has caught up with the White Widow, so both Dinafem´s strains are the fastest overall. - The Gorilla Glue Auto is developing nicely, but not as fast as I would have wished for. I thought this strain would dominate all others in terms of size. - The Auto Mazars was the very last to bloom - and I even managed to snap off a main branch on the biggest one, so they really haven´t been given much of a chance... but they didn´t care about my abuse or harsh words. The Auto Mazars, in particular the biggest one is showing incredible growth!

This is my favorite time in the cannabis lifecycle - when buds are starting to mature and months of preparation is starting to show. It feels like the first real reward before the actual harvest. - Public Service was cutting hedges this week using a lift - and could see everything in my garden!! Luckily, I heard them starting their engines and hid the plants in my cellar until they were done. I´m happy that I chose to place the support bamboo sticks in the pots - instead of in the ground, so I could remove them quickly. I moved all plants within 5 minutes - one branch snapped, but that´s a low price to pay 😅 The girls are purely getting blooming nutes now - and added epsom salt and sugar cane molasses to the feeding schedule. The smell is very noticable now and I may have to think about adding lavender or some other flowers to conceal the scent of liberty. One of the three Purple Punch plants is very different than the others - it´s showing some clear purple color in the bud sites, so I think it hit a pheno. I´m excited to see how she developes and if the scent and taste is noticably different. Check out the pictures. Sunshine and warmth is coming - up to 28 degree celcius / 82 fahrenheit in the week to come, so I´m taking my 3 daughters to the water amusement park - the rest of the girls will have to stay at home 😏 Have a great Summer - all fellow growers ❤️

The girls are hungry - and are now taking in 2 litres per day in average. Buds are fattening up on some strains while others are still stretching and stacking up. I´m estimating that the Dinafem strains will be ready for harvest in about 3/4 weeks, so I´ll add PK to their feeding schedule in the coming week.

I´ve been on holidays for 1 week with my family and had a friend feed the girls while I was away... It´s exciting to come home and see a full weeks development, because I normally check in on them every day. They have really grown, but the garden is a bit of a mess :-( It´s been rainy with low temperatures - and my Critical is hit by the budrot. I estimate to have lost about a third, but unfortunately it´s the better third, so that´s a bummer. I´m chopping within 24 hours. The widow has overdosed - and the leaves had some blue/purple-ish color to them. Otherwise she looks intact and almost completely unaffected by budrot. The buds are medium in size and are starting to look fat and nice. I need to clean her up, before I chop, so this week I'm flushing her. The Purple Punch trio has become the most interesting grow this week, because they act like 3 completely different strains. One has regular color medium sized buds - another has larger sized buds which are in a lighter purple color and the last one has sticky dark purple buds and with an insanely pungent fruity smell to it. The Gorilla Glue looks ok, but also overfed, so I´m leaving it for a few more weeks on a diet, before I flush. The Auto Mazars will be the last to fall. I have no doubt in my mind that these will provide the biggest yield. The budrot has kissed them here and there, but I´m home now, so things will not spiral out of control.

The correct name for bud rot is Botryotinia Fuckeliana - and what an appropiate name that is. The name almost sounds like the name of the exwife that ate the better part of this plant and left me with the fluff. The weather changes for the worse - in the whole of July - and I got hit by bud rot. It started on this plant, the Critical Kush, and quickly spread to all other plants. I acted quickly and have chopped all but 1 plant. She grew dense and low and had some really big buds (before the rot). I would never grow her outside again, but I´d be tempted to grow this heavy yielding, compact plants in my inside grow room. I will add taste/effect info later - when I have cured and tested it properly.

A wonderful strain to grow outside - low leaf to bud ratio and resistance to bud rot. She responded well to training - and stayed low. I could probably have given her a week more, but I didn´t want to take any chances since she was already nice and fat. SMOKE TEST (after 4 week cure) Lovely smoke - both sweet and sour. Put me in a state of relaxation. Will grow again for sure.

The Gorilla Glue was a disaster. At some point the growth slowed down a bit, properly a nute build-up (or punishment for using nutes that I bought 10 years ago). Then She was hit by bud rot - heavily - she didn´t get to mature, before I had to chop her. I lost most of the yield - and was left with two handfuls of small buds. SMOKE TEST (after 4 week cure) The smell and taste is lovely - like a fresh green pine forest - wow! I´m relaxed, but not stoned - hardly anyone would notice that I´ve been smoking the gorilla. It´s not as strong as I had expected, but the growth was also stunted somewhat on this particular strain.

I initially had 3 of these girls, but one got lost to the plague (of bud rot). They acted like 3 completely different strains: 1 had no purple color and lost the fight to bud rot 2 had normal purple color and was somewhat damaged from the rot 3 had dark purple color, foxtail structure and an incredible pungent stench to it - it was almost unaffected by the rot Yield was decent considering the circumstances. They were not the most easy strain to grow - somewhat sensitive to PH/deficiencies. SMOKE TEST! (after 4 week cure) It´s pungent with some citrus/berry notes to it and it has a woody aftertaste. I will probably have to cure it some more to improve on the taste. The effect does have a 'punch' to it. Knocks you down, turns your head off and places you in a time bubble. It´s definately an afterhours, evening smoke, because you become utterly useless after. You end up on the couch and wake up next morning feeling completely refreshed.

The Dutch Passion team did not oversell this product in terms of claim about yield - the big on was over 100g and it was 1 week early and damaged by the rot. I could have done 150g, easily. SMOKE TEST (after 4 week cure) Being an ex-cigarette smoker, I was surprised to find that the mazars taste almost like mild tobacco. It´s stronger than I thought - and delivers a powerful body high.

Very nice! I see yellow tips by your photo and this outdoor. Come this from nutrients or have you a lot of Sun? My Question comes from this, i have this too by some plants and i everytime try to inspect this problem....

@Bud_Spencer, I grow in coco coir, so it could be salts building up in the medium. I´ve cut nutes by half in the damaged plants, so it should take care of it 👌

@Jesperado, ok thanks for info.....then maybe its really from salty soil ?!

The only thing that i found working against budrot is cinnamon, i treat wound with it, to me it looked, like it stops quick spread through the plant. But its always a lost fight, i lost my mazzars last year exactly to budrot and they where hudge and damage came in one day to biggest part of plant, in a week time all 15 was effected. Had to use peroxide , soda and water to clean buds before drying, you never know where it is still hiding. And i mostly never do photos, plastic bag on infected part and all branch go away.... Thats my way.. Hope you won't need all this, weather will be better and they will finish nicely !

@@54degreesnorth, yeah, they are in the sunflower family - called Jerusalem Artichokes. They grow tall, have yellow flowers, just like the regular sunflowers, but the side bonus here is that you can harvest them - the eatable tubers tastes like nutty potatoes - really delicious 🤤
