I cultivate a bottom water absorption system in a 25L pot, but I am troubled with EC management every time. Since it is raised with 165w LED light, it is fun to determine the limit that does not burn. Please tell us when to raise your EC.

it's really not advisable to feed nutrients and use bottom feeding at the same time because the water stays stagnant so the bacteria start to break down the nutrients and the plants will burn in the end. the thing you can do is top feed once every "third watering" and do bottom feeding for the rest of the time. hope this helps ! 🚀

zoma_indoor Finally, the cute three-finger leaves have come out. They're a light green because I've been growing them carefully. The roots are starting to get more abundant, so I'm adjusting the EC to around 1.2. Managing the indoor temperature is crucial during this time. I’m trying to keep it below 30° as much as possible. Equipment in the growing space: - Cool air fan - Dehumidifier - Digital temperature and humidity meter from SwitchBot, humidifier - Small air purifier Growing in a closet is fun.

zoma_indoor I'll cut the top once it grows a bit more. I always struggle with whether to go for four or five nodes, but this time I'll try topping at five. My pH meter broke, so I need to buy a new one soon. It will probably be a while before I set it up in the gogro.

zoma_indoor In the fourth week, the growing medium has been drying out faster, so I set it up in the gogro. I adjusted the EC to around 1.4, and once the medium is generally moist, I close the reservoir tank's valve to manage it so it doesn't get overly wet. With the outside temperature rising, I'm looking forward to the growth rate from here on. I want to add cannazim, but since it would sit in the reservoir tank for a week, I wonder if it's okay to add it. It's convenient to have an air stone under the pot to prevent oxygen deficiency, but shouldn't the included air stone be a bit smaller?

zoma_indoor I'm seeing symptoms of overwatering, but they're growing relatively well. The reserve tank is also depleting faster, so I decided to experiment with adding Cannazym. I've been observing daily, and the bottom watering system is super convenient since it requires less effort for watering. However, with the included pots, overwatering symptoms do appear, so using non-woven fabric pots or air pots might improve the situation. Also, I bought a HANNA pH meter. Apparently, the latest model can measure both soil and nutrient solutions; it's called Soil Test Brothers. I really want it!

zoma_indoor The mesh is small, but for now, I covered my daughter with it. Well, it's a bit early, but I changed the light schedule to 12/12 to make her bloom. Since the symptoms of overwatering have disappeared, I recognized that the roots have taken hold enough, so I moved into the flowering phase. By next week, the tops should start to even out, so let the height comparison begin. I wonder when the hairs will start to show. I'm looking forward to it! I refilled the reserve tank with 10 liters of nutrient solution. I hope it lasts for a week!

zoma_indoor It's been a week since the flowering stage started. I'm spreading the branches horizontally while increasing the area that receives light. I've removed some of the large leaves that weren't getting light at the bottom to ensure airflow, but I might have taken too many at once, as growth has slowed down a bit. In a week, about 7 liters of nutrient solution have been consumed, so from now on, it might be better to consistently replenish 5 liters to help lower humidity and other factors. The surface of the coco substrate has turned white, but I think that's normal with a bottom watering system, so I'm not worried about it. The smell is starting to come through quite a bit. After I topped them, a nice aroma started wafting from my hands. The tops are also starting to even out, so I think it's about time to let them stretch up a bit.

zoma_indoor Since the tops have become evenly aligned, I'll take off the net for a few days and observe. I admire big buds, but for a single plant grown indoors, this method seems to be the best solution. From the looks of the leaves, it seems fine to raise the EC a bit more, but I'll do it gradually. I feel like I could ultimately go up to around 1.8. It's better to prune the lower leaves that aren't getting light and branches that aren't likely to grow much gradually, as it causes less damage to the plant, so I'll take about a week to do that. The only issue is the humidity—it's getting close to 80%, so I've tried adding two dehumidifiers. I'm also making sure to change the air frequently to prevent mold from growing.

zoma_indoor It's the flowering stage, and I've noticed some differences in the growth of the tops, so I did some LST. I've also done some pruning, so I'll let the LST'd tops rest until they start to point upwards. I cut back the parts that weren't getting enough light to allow for better airflow. The flowering is going well, so I'm adding my homemade PK solution to see how it goes. I also have canna's PK13/14, but I want to use them wisely to produce beautiful flowers. The humidity has been exceeding 80% lately, so I added a big dehumidifier to the grow room. Mold is my biggest fear, so managing humidity will continue to be an important issue. I really want to set up another Q4W, but I don't have the budget. I'm sorry, my beloved daughter. Please forgive me for being so inadequate.

zoma_indoor I'm giving them a little stress by exposing the roots. They're gradually changing to a nice green color, looking good! I took the net off early, but they’ve kept a nice shape and are stretching out well overall. The trichomes are looking great, and when I rustle the leaves, the whole room fills with a lovely citrus scent. I’m cutting off any pesky leaves that block light to the top so they can grow big and strong. The lower buds might need some support, so I'll let them grow until they bend under their own weight, then enjoy them at the right time!

zoma_indoor I was worried the stems might break under the buds, so I’ve been pulling them in from the inside to support them. The flowering stage still seems long, but I’m starting to dilute the EC to prepare for a lovely harvest soon. At this time of year, I can’t help but enjoy taking pictures of my girl. I often see people comparing the size of their buds by placing a lighter next to them for a photo, and I totally get that feeling. A few broke while I was tying them up, so I’m drying some, but taking it slow to remove moisture is definitely the tastiest method. Humidity is super important. This time when I can enjoy my girl’s glamorous appearance is my favorite part of growing!

zoma_indoor The color is looking nicely brown, so I'm flushing with just water and Superthrive. I'm aiming for a harvest in early August, so it's about 1-2 weeks away. There are parts that can't support their own weight without support, but I hope they hang in there a little longer without breaking. Since I'm using coco with bottom watering, I set the flushing period to 2 weeks, but based on how quickly the reservoir is going down, 1 week might be enough. I'm still indulging in my tasting habit and consuming about 10g, but I hope it reaches 100g. I remember someone saying that adding Pocari or grape juice during flushing is good, and I don't think that's entirely wrong.

zoma_indoor It's a bit early, but I've decided that I've removed enough nutrients, so I cut it. 900 wet grams? If I include the taste test, it was about 1kg. I wonder how much the final weight will be after drying. I've roughly finished trimming, so I'll dry it in a dark, cool place with some airflow for a week. It probably won't be smokeable yet, but it'll be a good way to check how much moisture has been removed. Four days after the harvest, it's dried, so it's time for the final trimming. I don't want to take off too many leaves since that would waste the trichomes, so I'll wait for them to break off naturally. I've tasted quite a bit, and since it was 160g, I'll take that as a win.

Beautiful grow! What do you think about this type of net for scrog? When the plant reach that do you flip? Do you keep it at which distance from the pot, and from the light?
zoma_indoor
zoma_indoor commented6y ago
@Psilocubensis,String type scrog for multiple plants. steel type in one plant. It is useful because you can change the height frequently. Is a lie. This is my first challenge. Now I am keeping a distance of 50 cm from the light source 👌
