Will move lights down to 50cm after making sure transplant is good. Had a few feeder roots break but nothing major, consider it a success. Liking these cut & drilled 2L for seedlings, with pucks and straight coir.
Moving up to veg feed as well. Waiting for their first cut, will probably take them a bit to make roots and then nodes. 3 Gal bags with 50/50 cocotek & coarse perlite.
@Jaindoh, Hopefully it turns out well, I guess we dont learn anything without trying!
looks like its working well thus far.
I'm sticking to topping and low stress until I get better.
@CW_3SGTE, yeah now that I've done it I'm paranoid that it will leave the branches stiff; yo-yos are in my plans to suspend the branches either way so hopefully it will go well
my assumption was that if you practice hst you do it with everything, so let's see if I doomed myself to mishaps or not.
@PoppaMac, thanks; i wish they were a little flatter tbh I had a bad week and didnt tighten the LST ties while I was waiting for my ratcheting hangers for the scrog; they got a bit vertical on me.
they should get a couple more weeks and then a flip -- hopefully they fill the tent more deeply than not
the real key will be removing all the vertical nodes (on both sides) to reduce crowding
@Jaindoh,
Thx for reply Jondo
i am at the moment of phase that i can still lower it. in my case seems so slow that one of tops will touch the net :( so i am thinking to lower it again:)
@jungpot, I had to apologize.
I forgot and removed the screen when I moved them =( sorry bud it was like over 8 inches though and thats supposed to be the "maximum" for it to be "right".
i'm mostly just happy i didn't have to use it as a support, like an actual trellis. They stand on their own and filled the tent. Counts as a win for me, especially given how deep the colas are compared to my other grows.
Hey buddy - sorry to hear about the mishap. You don't know how many time I have done that exact thing (luckily without the broken stem). Anyhow, the training looks like it is coming along nicely! I really like the training wires you have that seems gentle on the stems. Where did you get those? Are the homemade? Anyhow, continued best wishes on the grows and thank you for the continued support!
@Jaindoh, Thanks for the info. I had no idea - I use the grow weed easy site all the time. I actually have a trichome guide up right now on my Pineapple Express grow. It is an excellent resource for sure.
@Zannabis7, Nebula Haze is the author of GrowWeedEasy, a corny name for a very informative beginner->intermediate guide site. It's extremely thorough and I have learned all of my techniques from her.
She's less of some brilliant mind who reinvented growing and more of a very very good editor of other people's methods... particularly for those who do not already know how everything works.
Any time you see me suggest this site for people, despite the name, it is not to condescend to beginners; this is how *I* learned.
@Don_Pablo, to be honest my perfectionism stems from an anxiety that i am not doing enough and won't end up with enough yield off of only six plants
this medicine is a big deal and running out before the next CBD crops roll in could be a big failure, if I made mistakes (laziness) that led to this shortage
they're some of the healthiest plants i've grown yet, and i appreciate the compliment. it's just stressful
@Don_Pablo, thanks, I have been having a rough time managing three tents and 24 plants so it's not quite perfect enough for my OCD tastes by a bit =)
it's a learning process lol
@Endriu, when i transplanted, the top of the root ball was a mound above the edge pot a few inches so it kept falling off lol i will topdress them and try to keep it going then lol
edit: huh, they have settled down into the pots which made this much easier, and i had not even noticed
@Jaindoh, yeah mate keep 'em at dark, cover with some coco and perlite. The roots come up because, maybe, you lst them but not anchor the main stem, so evey time you move the branches, you also move the main stem 😉
@Endriu, oh definitely i try to topdress them but the way they ended up sitting so high after their last transplant it keeps poking out
afaik its not a huge deal but i can try to put some fresh coir on it if itll make a difference
@diamondtrichomes, yeah these last couple batches of 1:1 i have been harvesting 1-3 days later (as per nebula suggestion) for higher levels of cbd.
these last two are barely or not milky and have a bit, but are impeding progress of my northern lights. they will probably get chopped early.
@Jaindoh, Glad to know that you have endured the long road and found your independence in the grow world. Here to support you journey when needed. Best wishes on the grow. - Zannabis7
@Zannabis7, Thanks! I have recently expanded my garden and this set of three crops represents a lot. It has been a long road toward independence on the medicine my family needs.
@iHateSativa, thanks these are definitely my crowning achievement so far. have yielded more but these are special. and the most healthy. the black stems are a first, very happy with that.
The technique you are using for Lst with the twist ties holding the soft ties is genius! I have both materials but didnt use the cheap twist ties cuz the edges are sharp as hell. Now I can stretch my supplies further!
@Beans, Stole it from Grow Weed Easy just like everything else XD
Particularly makes it easy to do such a high quanitity of ties. You run almost no risk of hurting the plant by forgetting one of a hundred ties... plus when it comes time to tighten them you can just tighten it instead of re-tying everything.
Totally. Could save myself a lot of time hunched over on my floor lol. I'm getting ready to trellis net mine as well. What is the best placement for the 1st net? Do I want to go all the way down and flatten it out or do it right above the canopy like a barrier and try not to let anything pass? Getting ready for my 1st flower and height is a major concern of mine.
@Beans, The latter -- according to the guide I use, the scrog is mostly for the first 3 weeks of flower and you leave it completely under until then. I did, except...
A) my plants were stagnated or close enough, before the stretch B) there wasn't room for a long time so they went vertical especially once the scrog was up and they were in each others' way C) I'm waiting to make sure it doesnt try to close up on me, mostly.
I think the entire goal is to never use them as a true trellis, i.e. supporting their weight; rather as a spacing guide for doing a lot of LST almost automatically.
So I mainly did ties during the actual manifolding during veg, and just left the ones still on b/c the scrog gets in the way.

I want to grow cbd next, for those aches n pains that require almost no high because I got stuff to do lol I’ve never tried it so I’m curious how much you’d need to smoke to help with pain.. say a headache.
