Do not have more pics for this week, and at this stage haven't finished moving all clones to vegetative tent. All clones from my OG Kush #3, 52 cuttings, 34 rooted (65%) on a bubbler, and 4 didn't survive transplant (88% alive) so 30 cuttings in total. Also I have a Royal Cookies revegging from a tiny 1 mm leaf you will see next week pictures how big has grown :)

Plants keep stretching right at end of week #2 of flowering, expect they stretch a little bit more and keep pinching and bending stems until I get a mostly full canopy on both tents. Still waiting for a very dry soil to water this week Top Bloom feed, probably a couple of extra days because this week has been very cold here.

Week #3 of Flowering, Mid-Week Update (19 days old): Fed the girls 2.0 liters with Top Candy and Top Bloom, been waiting almost a whole week to allow the pots to dry completely. I continue pinching and bending the soft stems, overall look is very "muscular" (will add some under-the-canopy pictures), looking amazing for the third flowering week in my experience. Pistils are looking amazing, this strain still needs to explode a little bit more until buds start to fatten up, I haven't recorded the peak day so I will take care of that for this grow to keep that documented. Will update again with pictures on day 21 to complete this week of progress. Update Day #20: Finished with all the tying down. Did some defoliation. Added some trunk/stem/under-the-canopy photos. To be fair, I wish they were a little bit taller, it's a pain to access down there, mainly to water.

First day of week 4 of flowering (day #22): The girls are looking awesome after being tied up two days ago and fed as per scheduled. Pistils keep growing but still seems like they haven't peaked in size. So nice to keep everything documented here. Day 28# Update: Finishing the 4th week of flowering, pistils already turning orange (see top bud macro photos) and receding, while the actual bud is starting to fatten up. Week #5 is going to be a fun one! Looking forward to taking the next pictures in the following days.

Day #33 Update: We had some really cold days here, but grow room doesn't get colder than 14C at nights, and during the day is sitting at around 20-22C. Watered each with 2.5 liters of fresh water, and once dry again by the end of the week I will keep with the TOP Candy and TOP Bloom feeds.

Starting the sixth week of flowering, now it's Day #36 and they're looking lovely. Still some white hairs but they have already past their peak and buds keep fattening so they will be covered by calixes in the next weeks. Looking forward to this week feed, as the temps are on the low end, soil doesn't dry so often but I think they look a lot better than summer grows with the same conditions but higher temps. Next pictures will be taken midweek, cheers! Day #36 update: lowered the leds 1 inch each, and adjusted the night and day temperatures as we're getting colder this week. Day #42 update: added many macro detail pictures, the girls are looking amazing, sugar leaves are very "hard" at touch, covered in trichs, but they are still maybe a week slower than summer crop, which is expectable given we're starting winter tonight! Soil was really dry today after a couple of nice weather days (19-25C during the day) and tomorrow they will love the watering with Candy and Bloom feed. Looking forward to next week of updates!

Day #54 Update: At this stage I love to experiment and keep learning new ways of getting the best possible pictures of my plants. Today I took around 500 pictures and stacked them in the 5 macro pictures I'm uploading now. I did two different techniques, one is live view stacking for the 10x shots, and regular stacking for the bigger buds. This was really killing photoshop on a 16 core + 128 gb ram workstation, took really long to process and get the final results done :P Finally done processing the pictures! Seems like there is some amber at least, will be doing a statistical count and completing the percents on my spreadsheets tomorrow. Also, if anyone noticed, there is no 450w tent shots (green hue pictures vs purple on the 600w), I will be doing more focus tacking on that tent tomorrow, it's just a slower workflow but extremely better results for the pics! Hope you enjoy, follow, like and comment! Update: lost two weeks of images, something not working all right. Anyway, reuploaded the pictures, they are just missing the original comments.

Ready to chop 3 on the 450w tent, and will keep the 3 on the 600w for at least one or two weeks. Wrapping up a 750 pictures stacked macro shot of a top bud, hope you like it! First 5 pictures are partial zoomed up details of that stacked picture, I'm stacking it 150 frames at a time because even with 128gb of ram, Photoshop struggles with more than that. Normal would be 10 stacked pictures, lol! Update: uploaded the 750 stacked macro shot, open o a new tab or download to be able to zoom in and see the amazing trichome detail!

Day #66 Update: we're pretty close to chopping day, but still not the right amount of amber trichomes we set as goal for this harvest. We had very cold days here, and had to turn the heating on, which resulted in a surge of red spider mites, you will see them on the top of the buds making me hate them for ruining the pictures, lol, not massive infestation, not even visible if it's not very zoomed in or macro, but still, I love candy looking trichome pictures and spideys really ruin them. On the other hand, I started the Royal Cookies grow, it's 20 cuttings transplanted (1 will probably not make it) and will be having a new subject for macro pictures in no time. I hope you like the pictures, will be updating again at 70 days or so, hopefully a higher percent of amber for that time!

Update Day #73: Took some amazing macro shots of the top buds that weren't touched by the damning red spider mites. Buds are getting really fat and now there are some calixes exploding with lots of white hairs, so while there is still progress we won't chop. You can see more amber appearing on the trichomes, really frosted and candy looking, I hope you enjoy! Update Day #71: Not too much to upload today, really hating the red spider mites ruining the best buds to be macro pictured. Still, managed to get a nice shot of a side bud, and also I have a little update about the OG Kush #3 Mother harvest, and a nice picture of a cured bud that was already smoked and was even more delicious than the picture. The bad news is, OG Kush #3, the oldest OG Kush we had, didn't reveg after harvesting, probably because it was overwatered. We're really lucky we still have almost 10 OG Kush #3 clones in 1 liter pots, some are huge for that little container size, and the strain will live as it's the best producer on our growrooms in our 8 years of history. Will be updating later today with some pictures on the Royal Cookies grow, as it's a strain loved everywhere (Girl Scout Cookies) so get prepared for the best macro pictures ever for you prefered strain! Happy smokes!

What is your prefered amber percent for harvesting OG Kush and similar strains? What do you think? One or two weeks more seems right.

Hello Ooooo wheee those are some good photos thank you for that. I personally like mine to be about 20% amber, but I usually go off the vibe from each individual plant, some I've harvested with less amber and some with more. But I don't like to get anxious weed so i usually wait till i at least don't see much glassy ones...dominantly milky and then evaluate the amber. Yours looks like it has passed the 20% marker...if it was my plant, I'd be doing a mild flush and cutting her down here very soon....within the next week. Happy harvesting. ✌️

Day #80 Update: we're really getting close to chopping day, and attention have shifted from this grow tent to the next Royal Cookies diary. Red Spider Mites are making things worse as they deplete the motivation to shoot nice macro pictures by ruining everything, but still I managed to take some nice shots of the clean buds on this girls, and I hope you enjoy them. Still processing the +300 macro shots while writting this so I don't know the amount of amber, but hoping for it to be closer to 10% at least, with some extra time ahead. I have also included in this update, the sisters of this girls that are currently growing naturally on the backyard, in winter, with temperatures closing to freezing at night, but still very well protected as the temperatures on the street are at least 5C lower than inside the street block. They still need months to go, compared with the grown under the 600w. Keep in mind my backyard is very sun limited/deprived, so maybe 2-3 hours of direct ligth, and then I depend on the sun reflecting on another building. Hoping you enjoy the updates! Happy smokes!

We have just three strains that are "perpetual" on our grow setup, and while we have tested a huge amount of them, we always keep a Dinafem OG Kush mother because we're sure the clones are going to root really fast, they're going to endure the transplant with no issues, and will produce packed, short, really bushy plants that will be full of huge, fist sized buds, frosty looking packed with sticky trichomes. Just a breeze-like touch on the buds will make them smell a lot like pine and citrus, and as they get older and more mature the smell will get pungent, earthy and cheesy, totally changing the smoke experience and flavours. The "Goods" of the grow and what we did like it most and try to at least repeat next time: 1) Got a lot better with focus stacking in Photoshop, and got a better workflow to make sure the best macro pictures are taken from a huge amount of shots, maximizing the quality of the cropped details. This takes a lot of processing time but patience is key during all the process so the more patient the better, always. 2) Managed to test the OG Kush strain during the last 6 weeks of flowering, by harvesting a plant per week from week #8 to #13. We documented and pictured each week so in the future we will better adjust the grow cycles depending on the desired effects. Also we managed to collect enough data to compare equal grows during different seasons, concluding this grow took a lot longer than the summer one, the plants were a lot darker, and the effects and overall results are better at lower temperatures. The "Bads" of the grow and where to get better for the next time: 1) We still have issues with red spider mites, this time we didn't mist the buds with neem+potasic soap because the past grow we had some bud rot and mold, and really the spiders don't do much damage besides ruining the pictures. We will double down on using diatomaceus earth and brushing them down, plus hoping the cold weather keeps them controlled. 2) We didn't respect our own "protocols" when moving some plants inside after transplanting this time (no bug checking or bug spraying), just to get some silly pictures of some lady bugs, and in the process there was a black aphid infestment late during flowering, luckily it affected just 1/6 plants and a tiny portion of regular leaves, so not bud touched. 3) The girls didn't stretch as much as the previous grow, so it was a pain to water. We took care of this on the current Royal Cookies diary by letting them grow straighter for longer time, and doing some bottom defoliation. Hope you liked this grow, and stay for the next ones, as always, if you like or dislike something, and you make us know, we will do our best to get better, and we're also always available to help, just send us your questions and we will do the best to help. First completed diary, for many more! :) :) :) Happy smokes! DrJynx86
