Buds are starting to bulk up now. I've been disappointed not to see more purple. The temps here are pretty cold - think it's getting down to about 16c with lights off, but still not much colour. I also thought (given it's name) that this would just naturally purple. I was even wondering if a seed had got mixed in, but I can see a slight bit of purple on the inside and just hope that becomes more prominent as it really starts flowering properly.
The plant continued to have a slight deficiency with one of two leaves turning a pale colour but it's slow and nothing to worry about. May have even stopped now as it goes into proper flower and it's certainly getting enough food.
Has an interesting smell. Flowery and sweet. Kind of a refreshers sweets smell. Very different to the OG funk from the 3BOG.
Seems to be doing well for week 7 and look forward to those buds filling up.
@Zannabis7, Thanks a lot mate. My two 3BOG grew to a nice height, just right for my tent, but I underestimated this one so hence the weird bending. Looks like she's stopped stretching now though so that should do it.
Thanks for the update. Looking very nice. I love the shot of the strong bend on the main stem. I never have enough courage to make such a strong bend out of fear of snapping the main stem! Continued best wishes on the grow.
Don’t panic yet, I have the real Bay Area GSC and it naturally blacks out at week 5. But the first half of flower it’s Forrest Green? Lol. I also grew a purple kush a few years back that only changed weeks 6-7. So sometimes it’s more than just cold weather. It’s a hormone switch in heavy or near end flower.
@bobo420, Thanks mate. I know. They've got a good wobble on them when I pick them up. Those colas getting heavy.
Edit: oops thought you were talking about the 3BOG. But this one is doing well too
Nice update, some good looking buds ;)
As of purple, you can try lowering your (night) temperature, if you can, by a few degrees. It shold 'jump start' them to bring that purple out.
@bobo420, Yeah I hear that. Not sure there's much I can do about it unfortunately. When it looks more or less done I can take it out the tent and leave it in a cold room for a few days. Maybe that will bring out some last colour.
