Hello there! To give some background knowledge, I've grown bag seeds and what not a few times throughout the years that ended up being males. I finally took the plunge, went fully in and splurged on all the equipment to have a decent quality medical grow. I have an idea for what I want to do, as I've done LST, Defoliation, and Topping in the past. But since I'm mostly working with Autoflowers, I'm hesitant to top it. If I do, it would be after the second or third node. I'm not sure if the Skywalker Kush I got is an autoflower or not. I had gotten it as a freebie pack from Seed Supreme from Mephisto, and all the background info I find on this strain from them is that they had an autoflower that was out of stock (apparently not!).
ANYWAY! Off of the long amount of back info; I germinated these seeds on May 18th, then planted them on May 20th. They were slow to grow. I got super excited and mixed the light nutrient water in a gallon to be prepared, but was accidentally feeding the seedlings the nurient water. It seemed a bit too much, I started feeding them regular water 3 days ago when I noticed. The light I have right now is at 40% strength. I'm going to kick it up a notch to 60% to give them a bit more light to grow. They've all been growing slow as seedlings I think because I gave them nutrients instead of straight water. I've been giving them distilled water. We will see how it goes in the next week!
Hi! So some bad news :( Two of the seedlings didn't make it. They weren't growing really at all comaprd to the rest so I pulled them up and redistributed soil since the seedlings were stretching a little bit. I will be germinating one more seed, another Hindu Kush to grow with this cycle. Outside of that the plants are doing okay! The Skywalker Kush seems a bit stunted, it's extremely small. I'm hoping maybe to give it some nutrients in a few days. I fed the Hindu kush the nutrient filled water today, it's doing really well! I had a fan running 24/7 right next to it for 4 days, so it ended up developing a natural LST technique to get away from the breeze a bit and has kind of leaned off to the side. Kind of cool really lol. Outside of that, the plants are doing okay. I'm going to feed the plants nutrients every other day to see if this helps with the progress at all. Hindu Kush had a lil mutation too! On the first set of fan leaves, one leave didn't even have any fans! The other had two fans. Very interesting!
Yo! I'm back! So my plants have been doing super well! The Hindu Kush is going on it's 4th node. I did a bit of LST by tying some branches down overnight then letting it come back. I think I'm afraid to abuse my babies with vigorous LST because they're doing so well. So to not give it as much nutrients, I give the plants 2/3 water with nutrients, 1/3 clean distilled water. Total, I'm giving each plant 1 cup of water (except the new seedling, which gets 1/3 of a cup for now). The skywalker kush is growing up a little more! I'm thinking it's more of a feminized instead of auto. The preflowers are growing like crazy on the Hindu Kush and GSC autos! Super excited to continue to see them grow.
Hi Y'all! Update; the plants (except the new hindu kush) will be one month old on the 20th! I planted them on May 20th. Very excited!! I've defoliated a bit of the hindu kush and some of the smaller branches on both the Skywalker and GSC as well. Ever since, the preflowers have been growing something crazy! I thought after looking at Skywalker, realizing it's a photoperiod instead of an Auto like the rest, I topped it. The next day while doing LST stretches on the top branches, I accidentally pulled a branch off :( One of the preflowers migrated and is growing in its place! And interesting enough, the node that I topped on it started sprouting a little more so I think it's going to regrow where it got topped. Very cool! In an effort to keep the second hindu kush short and even bushier, I LST'd the main branch down pretty severely. It's reacted well though! Growing well. This hindu Kush from fastbuds has such weird mutations for the first set of leaves. Lol. Anyway, I'm having a bit of a reaction out of the leaves (specifically two leaves on each plant). I thought it was nute burn, so I flushed for two days with straight water. Still progressed, so I'm thinking it looks like a Magnesium deficiency but i'm not 100% sure. Gonna buy some Cal-Mag and introduce that into the nutrient uptake just to be safe! Put the plants on a 20 hour light cycle again. They've responded well!
Hey Everyone! Week 5 here we go! Two of my plants are showing pistils! The big Hindu Kush, but the Girl Scout Cookies is showing way more pistils! I decided to do some more research in training, watched some tutorials and read through some training techniques a little further. I decided I was going to mainline the youngest Hindu Kush, and do something similar with the Skywalker Kush due to my happy little screw up (lol). It was easier to do with the Skywalker Kush as it was far more developed. I also defoliated the HELL out of these plants. I decided to cut off the baby leaves and lollipop some of these plants so I can have better bud production on the tops of the plants where there are more leaves. I started feeding the plants heavier, a cup of water for the baby hindu kush, and a cup and a half for everyone else. They seem to love this regiment! I feed them mostly just the nutrient based water, and none of the plants are really showing me nutrient burn. There was a bit of burn on the GSC on the tips. I flushed for a few days and that seemed to lessen as well. When I saw the pistils, I went back to using the nutrient based water and she's been very happy since then! The smell has gotten strong, and I have been having issues battling humidity (it's been leaving condensation on the plants and in the tent) so I am keeping my fan going 24/7 until I get my carbon filter.
Hey y'all! I'm back with an early update because my biggest two plants are flowering! Hindu Kush looks like she's gonna grow some really thick buds. I'm super excited to see it flower. The GSC pistils are some clear, some amber. It makes me really excited for how she's gonna look as she develops buds. I wanted to give a better tour of how the plants look so I took a video to share as well! I am super excited, and I'm starting to get impatient quite frankly! Lol! But really, I can't wait to watch my plants grow day in and day out. I need to find a way to control the humidity, as it is getting hotter in my home and when my tent is closed the humidity climbs up to 82% and some leaves that touch condensate on each other. Not good! I leave my tent open for hours at a time to tame the humidity but this is not a full time solution. if anyone has suggestions please let me know! I will be asking a question soon on it!
Hey Y'all! I Hope the season is treating you well! My plants are getting big!! Hindu Kush is the tallest at about 2 feet and 4 inches from the soil. Skywalker Ghost Kush is the second tallest, and it's still growing. Hindu Kush is stretching too as she flowers! The GSC is stretching but not as much, I can see her sativa qualities a lot more now that she's beginning to show her flowers more. I'm still having issues with Nitrogen Toxicity specifically with this plant as well. She's got burnt tips, but after getting some advice on reddit I was told the nutrient issues aren't that bad. Will be ordering the pH tester, and jewelers trope, and some dedicated flowering nutrients for the plants this week. I am hoping to harvest GSC and Hindu Kush are the same time before the baby hindu kush and the Skywalker Ghost Kush. I'm anticipating the Skywalker Ghost Kush to be ready by October, same with the second Hindu Kush. The first two plants I'm expecting to be finished within a month to 6 weeks! I started feeding them more water, about 2 cups of water each feeding. The big Hindu Kush and Skywalker Ghost Kush need fed twice a day now, they're so big they take up their food so quick! If you have any questions please ask! Impatiently waiting for more buds to grow lol.
EDIT: So this is at the end of the week. There's been a heat wave this week and my Skywalker Ghost Kush has not been happy with it. Her fan leaves have been wilting down a bit from the heat, it's hard to keep the heat down in my tent it's been up to 85 degrees F. So I got an air conditioner and had that running with the tent open for a bit and that helped. Just bought some General Hydroponics Bloom Nutrients to help with some of the Nitrogen burn, hopefully that can balance out the nutrients. I just got a carbon filter as will that I will be installing next week! I will do my next update after I install it!
Hey everybody! The plants have been coming along. Hindu Kush and GSC that's in flower are showing bits of stress, and Skywalker Ghost Kush is showing signs of overwatering it seems. I've been having to water twice a day just about now, once in the morning once at night. Big Hindu - 2 Cups, GSC - 1.5 cups, Skywalker - 1.5 cups, Lil Hindu - 1 cup. Night: Big Hindu - 1 Cup, GSC, 0.5 Cups, Skywalker (depends on if it needs it (0.5 cups). Since the preflowers of Skywalker Ghost Kush has been showing, I'm slowly transitioning the lighting cycle to flower. Gonna get some colored LED light for the sides of the tent too to promote growth. Right now it's at 16 hours. In a few days, I'll go to 14 hours. Then a week after the light cycle will be 12/12.
Just started using General Hydroponics FloraBloom two days ago as well on the plants! I mixed it (2 tsp) in the gallon of water that had a little of the Big Bloom left in it, and then a full gallon with 3 tsp. I also installed an exhaust fan into the tent so i can recycle some air into and out of the tent. I'm feeling great about the grow, Hindu Kush is just inches away from the light (i'm going to fix this and raise the light after i finish this post!) and has been getting some heat stress. I do anticipate a big yield from this Hindu Kush plant, I'm very excited! Girl Scout Cookies has some spots on it showing up. I just got a pH reader and it says the pH reading is at about 8 or so in the soil of all my plants not sure if it's right or not but for now I'm going to get some pH balancer for the plants. I had to trim some yellowing leaves off of Hindu Kush and trimmed some bigger fan leaves off of the Hindu Kush I'm mainlining. I think I need a bit of advice on how to proceed with that.
I am mainlining an Auto Hindu Kush from Sensi Seeds. I topped and mainlined it effectively, & have trimmed some of the bigger fan leaves. Should I continue to trim some more of the bigger leaves or smaller nodes that aren't really growing to focus the energy on the bigger nodes?
Hello flakeyfood,
Next time continue to trim some more of the bigger leaves and smaller nodes. You seem to have harvested some good looking buds, congratulations!
Good luck with your future projects, I wish you all the best! 👽
Hey y'all! Came to give a quick update since I was last here. Hindu Kush is looking better, I had to water the plants differently and start giving them a lot more at once then leaving them alone. I also balanced the pH and that did wonders. GSC i had to trim some laeves. Overall they're recovering from the pH error. I accidentally topped a branch on the baby hindu kush I was mainlining. So I waited two-three days, did some defoliation then tied it down a bit so i can get a better spread of the leaves. I definitely stunted this hindu Kush's growth, but I hope the mainlining is working. Skywalker Ghost Kush is also starting to show pistils, and it's stretching already! It's getting as tall as the GSC and they're both (GSC and Hindu Kush) are stretching. There's a lot of bud sites and they're all getting thick too. Any guesses on the harvest? I'm guessing maybe 2-3.5 oz on the Hindu Kush, GSC probably 1-2.5oz. Very excited!
I ended up in the hospital for a week, came back and when i got back they were ready to harvest! The leaves had all come off, so it was easy to trim. I have another hindu kush and a Skywalker Ghost x Triangle Kush still going that are going into flower!
