Quick summary of what happened and whats to come:
- no update the past weeks because holiday
- weather is humid and hot so bud rot fear is real but haven't seen nor smelled anything funky. I am keeping them out of the rain under a shelter and move them in the direct sun as much as possible to keep humidity levels low.
- the split branch from week 9 healed up in a matter of days
- Had a nitrogen defect which I thought at first was just the fan leaves dying because of life cycle end and also because the calmag has a source of nitrogen as well. Boy was I wrong. (luckily this one wasn't as fucked as the other). Fixed by adding 1.5ml veg feed again. Kinda feel like a dumbass since it was textbook nitrogen deficiency... (so yeh, involuntary defoliation) The only positive is that the plant had some real nice sunburst colors.
- The plant took a hit from the deficiency translating in airy buds and slower growth. Hoping to fatten them out some more in the next 2 weeks, we will see.
- Because of veg feed I also fed the plant the usual so harvest day has been moved back 2 weeks
- 2 weeks till harvest unless trichs say something else
We will see how this one turns out. If the quality is there I don't mind having less total yield.
The sun has been unrelentless and i think it caused some heatstress because pistils were starting to form again. A bit over a week later i can clearly see more bud forming. Sun has calmed down but weather is getting bad. What do? Chop or leave a bit more? Leaning to chop.
Hi,
Bring your light up, check your temperature and continue with your harvest schedule. This can happen if your plants are too close to the light and heat problems. Foxtailing
Try to fix this problems so there isnt further damage.
Happy harvest!!
This is why the common recommendation is too observe trichomes. If she show deficiencies like she appears to be.. I would chopping sooner rather then later.. Starving plants and allowing them to process all available resources can lend itself to product that doesn't finish nicely or well at all. You will get very different information from different growers Like some folks aim for Amber that is 30% because it provides for a cough/couch lock experience... This will not fly very well in my area.. People prefer and know product should be and can be smooth.. Some people associate the coughing and the heavy feeling with "good" weed.. Experienced smokers/connoisseurs know the difference. Find your own preference..
