Back again!!!

After 2 rounds of Spider Mites in my old grow area, I moved my grow area to a completely opposite area of my house - from the attic to the basement. I'm near the end of the first crop of autos that have grown in the basement and I've had NO bug issues at all!

This diary is primarily to see what happens when growing Fast Buds Cream Cookies outdoors and to enter in their 2020 outdoor grow contest. I started 4 Cream Cookies seeds indoors a week ago and they all popped. I started the seeds directly in soil. Personally, I find starting directly in soil works best for me. I'm going to take 2 of the seedlings outdoors in about a week and keep 2 indoors. Indoors they will be growing under a 315w CMH (LEC) in my 2' x 4' tent. Outdoors they will get full sun in our garden. They will be growing in ProMix and I will be feeding Fox Farm nutes as well as Recharge. I'll be feeding at 1/2 strength from the recommended feeding schedule.

I'm excited to have a new diary up on GD again. And excited to see how the outdoor crop compares to the indoor. My prediction is that the outdoor crop will grow larger and faster. I've been seeing insane growth spurts outdoors in the past week. I almost took the seedlings outdoors over the weekend, but I'm glad I didn't - it got down to 34 degrees last night. That probably would have killed the seedlings.

Stay tuned...

p.s. The big girls in the tent are almost ready to harvest and include Seedsman Sour Diesel Haze Auto (nice fat, dense cola), Fast Buds Gelato, Dinafem Critical+ Auto and Female Seeds Auto Bubble. I also have Basil, Oregano, Mint and Chives growing in the tent acting as bug deterrents.

Organic/Natural Bug Control Outdoors
Bugs have been nibbling on my outdoor ladies. I'm looking for tips/suggestions for controlling bugs organically/naturally. I am growing Basil, Chives, Oregano and Spearmint around the ladies in an effort to help deter bugs. But that's not working as well as I had hoped.

Spiders in the outdoor garden, good or bad?
I was out in the garden tending to my ladies and came across a couple of spiders. I know spiders are supposed to eat other bugs, but that also involves a spider web. So, my question is should I leave the spiders alone? Or should I kill them as I find them, like other bugs?

Hi bro! :innocent:
It is a funnel spider or whatever else it is called a “grass spider”. He lives in grass, builds a cocoon from a web and hunts small insects. Happens up to 2 square meters of area with his web, as soon as the victim touches his web, he immediately runs out of his ambush and attacks! For humans they are not dangerous at all, for plants too! I'd even say that such a “guard” might benefit you in fighting harmful insects and parasites. :point_up_2:
I wouldn't touch it... they don't linger at one spot for more than one or two weeks. If there are few insects near your plants, then the spider will quickly leave that territory on its own! :ok_hand:
Good luck, friend! :fist: :innocent:

It's been some time since you posted some diary Dude. Nice to have you back. As for your bug issue, see if you can get some ladybugs

@Athos, Its good to be back. How have you been?

I've been through 1000's of lady bugs and they don't seem to do much with spider mites. However, I just had a successful harvest (without any diaries) since moving my tent from the attic to the basement. I also nuked the tent with a variety of bug killers before starting any plants. I feel fairly confident I'm bug free at the moment and like the idea of using other plants to keep bugs away.
