Plant moved from being hardened into a full time outdoor plant in a fabric pot. I used FoxFarm Ocean Forest soil. PH is a bit high at 7.5, looking to lower that a touch in the coming weeks. The plant gained about an inch in about 3 days after the switch. I'm not sure if I should LST the plant or not, never done it before.

After doing some LST of sorts last week, switching to filtered water, adding worm castings, and foliar feeding the plant has jumped in its vegetative production. The plant grew about 4 inches in height, while spreading out horizontally.

The Face Mintz is really booming. Continuous training her into a more bushy plant while getting as much sun to all the plant as I can. Minimal pruning especially down low to keep air and sun moving through it. Plant jumped from 21.5 inches to 27 before I tied the tallest branch back down to help other branch exposure. Plant is 30 inches wide. Foliar feeds every day, one day straight water, the following with a worm casting solution. Feeling pretty good about my first real attempt at this so far.

Vertical growth seems to have stalled a bit, and It seems like the plant is a little droopy. Soil is damp, not soaked nor dry, wondering if it doesn't care for the big bloom or if the rockwool is holding moisture. Flowering seems to be starting with long white hairs, but still very small and early. Hoping for a little more height before full flowering.

The plant seems to be slowing down. Inner fan leaves are yellowing, not sure if its PH, a calmag deficiency or another issue, going to be trying a few home remedies for those issues and see if she responds. A bit worried about the yellowing this far along, hoping its nothing. Thursday: watered with a PH down and Epsom salt mix. Water measured at 6.1 when added, the soil had previously measured at almost 8 PH. I'm hoping to get this soil back to a workable range to prevent full loss of the plant.

Lots of trimming this week. Cutting off big yellowing fan leaves and inner branches that are not getting enough light. Been fighting a PH issue causing nutrient lockout. The soil was in the high 7s/low 8s last week, sitting around 6.8-7 now. The yellowing has slowed markedly, and slight height growth has began again. I will be adding blackstrap molasses to the mix in the coming weeks. The plant is showing early signs of flowering that has increased in the last 2 weeks which makes me confident to label it as flowering. Let's hope the next week stays the course!

Flowering continues fairly well, buds are growing, maybe not as fast as I'd like but I'm an impatient sort sometimes! Leaves lookalike they are dusted lightly with sugar so that's exciting! Sunday: big thunderstorm came through this morning and will continue with rain and wind off and on all day so I moved the plant inside under a grow light for the day to keep it safer from rougher elements. Extensive lightning flashes hopefully wont screw up her flowering!

This has been a strange weather week! Days between 88-103, nights in the high 60s, crazy thunderstorms, no humidity one day, dripping the next, it's been a struggle. That said, she grew about an inch this week and kept on budding out! Trichomes are showing up, buds are thickening slightly. I worry a little about the yellowing fan leaves, but because it is just the fans I'm not overly worried.

The yellowing is continuing, I'm hoping adding Tiger Bloom will give her a little more nitrogen and stave off losing too much more. Flowering time for the strand is 8-9 weeks which means within the next 2 weeks I should be close to flushing before harvest. I'm hoping for some bud growth before then. *fingers crossed*

It's been hotter than hell around here this week, 111 at its peak yesterday, I moved the plant in for several hours during the peak yesterday. The plant is building buds and trichomes are looking great, turning more milky each day with very few (less than 10 on the whole plant I've seen) amber trichomes. After much research I have decided to not flush it, except maybe just 2 days before harvest which could be any week now.

A lot of bud development this week, trichomes are >90% cloudy with maybe 5% amber. Pistils are mostly reddish but still some white. Based on how the plant as a whole looks and my need to harvest on a weekend I think this coming weekend is chop day! Thursday: I switched to plain water only after its last half dose of nutrients. At the end of the day today she is showing signs of using up all her nutes that are stored in the soil! Trich8are about 15% amber at this point, Saturday should be chop day!

First time properly trying to grow! She went into her pot in the 2nd week of June, the buds are insanely dense and wet feel heavy for their size. The plant grew to around 34 inches at the highest branch, but was very full all over. The smell has a strong mint kick to it that helps mask what it is so that's a plus.

@707grows, that drooping might just be from the hot-as-balls weather we've been having around here. I've been up north for a week (had the setup on every-other-day irrigation while i was gone), but Jesus H it was hot when we got back in town this afternoon! The plant has boundaries... and i think 100º is going to at least be a little bit of a gut punch to even the healthiest green goddess.

Sonoma_Sungrowncommented5 years ago
@707grows, no problem! My vegetable garden results this year have really sold me on the dechlorinated water... so I just invested in these. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YCHWL3M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 They screw right onto your garden hose and dechlorinate your water as it runs. Cheap AF, too. Might be the easy way to go if you don't mind dropping $30.

@@Sonoma_Sungrown, I appreciate the help! Gonna pick some castings up this weekend. Hopefully I can get this plant to really start taking off!
Sonoma_Sungrown
Sonoma_Sungrowncommented5 years ago
@707grows, no big deal at this point. Just top dress your soil with some worm castings, water, and you'll be good to go. You could also mix up 1tbsp of unsulphered molasses and castings (you can get it at the grocery store) per gallon of water, and water with that every couple of weeks. It's a crude tea that will make those good microorganisms in the castings multiply in your soil. They eat the sugar in the molasses. I bubble mine with an air stone for 24 hrs to make them multiply before I water, but many people just mix it in and water. Keep in mind that you can cut that off at any time and start hammering it with chemical nutrients, or you can just top dress with some organic amendments along the way and do it all organic. Organics also naturally regulates the pH and makes it so the plant isn't so sensitive to the pH being a little high. I usually sit around 6.9-7

Haha! I'm planning on being better set up for next year!

@707grows, same here. I tested all pots this evening, and they were all around ~6.9 or so... and the plants DO seem healthier. Now that you've got the pH looking good, I'd be willing to bet that you're going to get one helluva early flower stretch out of those limbs over the next few weeks!

@@Sonoma_Sungrown, also a buddy of mine gave me some dried kelp supplement. @@Sonoma_Sungrown, I think I had some nute buildup at the very bottom, I hadn't been watering as thoroughly as I should have been, when I ph tested soil high I was between 6.8 and 7.2, but I cut a small hole and checked about an inch from the bottom and it was at 5.4 or something like that, so I think the runoff took that out.
Sonoma_Sungrown
Sonoma_Sungrowncommented5 years ago
@707grows, 6.1 is probably on the low side... perhaps you could do the next watering at the 6.7-ish range just to get her in that 6.5-ish sweet spot. I wouldn't take any notice of the breeder saying it should take 8-9 weeks that is best case in perfect conditions for that perticular strain and almost nobody can do that with exceptions obviously, most people add a couple of weeks to that at least, just be vigilant and it will come good for u keep it up 👍

@Steeluk1987, you are giving out 100% good advice here, no doubt. That said, he's getting this figure from a dispensary that sold him a clone, and dispensaries (in my limited experience) tend to be a bit more realistic with the flowering projections than seeds/breeders.
707grows
707growscommented4 years ago
@Steeluk1987,yeah, I'm mainly using the growers 8-9 week flowering period as a base line not an end all be all, just knowing I should be nearing the end of flowering somewhere around there and to pay more close attention to what the trichomes, pistils, and plant as a whole are doing. My trichomes are still almost all perfectly clear so I know I probably got at least another week before I start flushing.
