Just moved to their forever home. Have set watering to 1x15min every 2 hours during lights on and will dial back if required (Using a Wilma and if anyone has any advice, please chip in!!!). Going to stick to the full Shogun range for the full grow and see how it goes. Unfortunately have to go away a few days due to an imminent bereavement about to happen in the family so fingers crossed here I can get this dialed in within the next 24hrs before I have to leave them...her indoors is about to get a crash course in botany too it seems! :)

Start of week 2. As the girls seem pretty healthy apart from what looks like a potential nute burn on a few lower leaves (her indoors was taking a few monitoring pics for me while I was away and stood on the feed timer; which meant they got a few multi-hour sessions for potentially up to 4 days!!!) I decided to top them all to the 5th node. I went a bit higher due to the nute burn to ensure I had some healthy extra leaves in case of any progression. Could maybe have gave 2 of them a day or 2 extra growing before hand as taking the growth tip off was a close exercise to the new growth tips but I think they made the cut...(pun intended!!!). Now just to leave them and monitor them. Lights have been dropped a fair bit since putting them in the tent. Started at 40 inches, now approx 20 inches from the tallest plants canopy (The Purple Punch - Confirmed plant) and will be monitoring for stress/bleaching. Using a 600W Omega Metal Halide Bulb for the Veg stage. Wilma says you can leave the nutes in the tank for 14 days but as I was topping, I thought everything fresh would be a good order of the day. Feed order to the tank mix was: Shogun Silicon Shogun Calmag, Katana Roots, Shogun HydroGrow A/B. This seems to ensure the silicon doesn't turn to snot in the tank when mixing. Added a new Aeration stone to the tank, a Marina 7.5cm Disc and t-junctioned the 2 small cylindrical air-stones to add more air/mixing to the setup. Now, to hope the cuts were clean and the girls take to the training

Day 15, having a right week of it!!! Thought I was on top of the chlorosis (Thinking Ca/Mg issue) and then I start getting issues that make the plants look like they're getting N Toxicity!!! Now, in all fairness, by fixing the Ca/Mg issue, I may have created an N issue - My CalMag does appear to have N in it - @Shogun any helpful ideas here for me please??? :) What getting me is plants are drinking (Not massive amounts, but they are drinking), EC is staying stable and have standard pH drift of about 0.1/day towards neutral, this should be bang on. Roots are good as they're popping through bottom of the root pouch/air pruner pots (These are 12L each so a number of roots are over 6inches long this would mean) and growing into the run off water (I may mod my Wilma and make it a psuedo bubbler too but then this may cause all sorts of issues with my expected water volumes, etc.!!!). Wondering if anyone on here has had issues with either wind burn (From a 7" oscillating fan) or seen low humidity issues in veg that could maybe help? I am going to grab a humidifier for the tent (Should be here Wednesday) to see if that helps (Liberally spraying the place with pH adjusted water, added open water sources to the tent, etc.). Also, with the roots popping through, may grab some Sensizym to clean up dead root material & fulvic to ensure no salt build up round the roots. As I am stumped by what I am seeing (Things seem to contradict each other), I ran 2L of pH adjusted water through each plant on Sunday 30th and held of feeding to ensure salt build-up wasn't happening in the clay, round the roots. This has topped the tank back off to around 50L, brought my CF down to 10 (1ec) and I dropped feeds to 3 per day (15mins after lights on for 15mins, 1 in the middle of the cycle and 1x15 near lights off). The fact there was no EC upping with such a small amount of water, again makes me think the "Nute Burn" isn't caused by the feeding and possibly by humidity (or lack there off - it can get down to 35% in there). I know it goes against all the SOP's, but in general, the air coming out of my tent is cool; It does go into the main room where the tent is, but is a large cabin and has the door open most of the day with kids running in and out of the other room (I have a security gate to keep them out!!! :P Also, the airflow crosses my ballast, keeping it cold to the touch); until the humidifier arrives, can i recirc the air back into the tent to up the humidity? I have a dehumidifier in the room (On but set to 90) to check the humidity in the main room and it is creeping up (Was at 63% there when I was re-doing LST while tent was at 44%). My lights on period is 4pm to 10am but don't want to turn the fan off as the tent is beside a SW facing wall so is getting heat for a couple of hours before Sundown (around 9pm now). Or, would it do much damage to change to 6pm to noon for lights on? Don't want more of a shock to their system as they've settled into 18/6 from a 24hr under CFL at seedling. Again, anyone who sees this and may be able to help, please do! Day 19 and 21 added

Day 22 - Covered a lot of stuff of last night on my last comment for week 3. Added a few time lapses of the last week of grow. Took a few top leaves of the girls (4 each) to allow more light to potential bud sites; Basically where 1 fan leaf was covering 2 or more potential flower sites. Don't think I will top any more as getting a nice even canopy as it is, plenty of nodes showing Now have a humidifier in there and strengthening the feeding regimen & adding Sensizym and Fulvic Acid to the mix. Removed the flood stakes too as they were inconsistent...now just have the feed pipes going straight over the roots EC now @ 1.3 (CF13, TDS 650/500ppm, 910/700ppm scale). Will keep an eye on them as not too sure if they're sensitive to feed or the Temp/Humidity issues I was having allowed them to nute burn by closing down stomata. Also gave them a dusting with Neem oil as I cant open the tent for Daddy Long Legs (Crane Flies) or Midges flying in!!!

Day 29. Things still ticking along nicely. Saw a few leaves on my Sativa dom Pheno exhibiting Ma deficiency so gave an Epsom Salts foliar while Lights out was happening. Also upgraded my mechanism for holding flood pipes in place. Have the girls on Wooden Risers now to allow the bottom of the pots to fully dry and to allow the smart pots to do their thing. They're all starting to fill out a bit now so hopefully not long until flip!

Should I top 1 more time? I have (Example pic) 4 good nodes at the end of the 2 main branches. Should I top these to allow the ones mid branch to pick up and boost or should I leave them now and just flip in a week or 2? Think they're near end of veg as not putting on any height!

Hi! No need for topping anymore at this point. I'd say if you want to control the growth just use LST now, if you bend the top lower than the mid part, the hormones will make the mid part grow more. And probably the reason for not gaining height so much is that you have been training them and it has become more bushier now 'cos the plant don't know when veg time ends until you flip the switch to 12/12 Happy growing!

Day 36 - Start of a new week. Pulled the trigger and decided to drop the screen. Will give this up to 2 weeks to see how it fills out. Girls were pretty busy and sideways anyway from the LST, hopefully this will just keep them a bit more even! The cord not super taught (using hollow PVC conduit so couldnt overdo the tightness) but hopefully enough to keep them space trained. Upped the veg nutes slightly for the last run, took the EC up to 1.5 (was 1.3-1.4) just to give them the final push before flower. There still appears to be a few issues uploading to GD so will get the week 5 time lapse up as soon as they have that sorted!!! Happy growing everyone.

Day 43 - 12/12 flip day. Screen already getting unruly so going for the flip. That much green in there, I'll have difficulty working out what to do with it soon so its time for Autumn to hit!!! I know people have all different methods and this and that but just going straight into the 12/12 with the bloom feeds (Samuari has quite a bit of N in it still during bloom phase so should be less of a nute shock). Also trying some mineral water in there....@£1.10 for 5L (50L tank), hopefully less chlorine in there until I get some Ecothrive Neuteralise in there to keep the bennies safe! :) Changed over to the Sylvania Dual Spec HPS so hopefully the blue in there keeps the stretch somewhat limited (again, have saw people use MH for the 1st week or 2 to keep the plants down) but these girls are stumpy...no real vegging height to them and hopefully the screen adds to that. Per seeds description, max height should be 90-100cm so hopefully all stays like that. Now just to keep on top of the tucking and canopy management. Still betwixt and between if I'll lollipop/defoliate as the bottom leaves are a good source of feed (3 weeks still to consider) as I have to add humidity to the tent...it would sit round 35-40 in general under lights so not overly worried about mold environment plus have another fan I can get under the canopy for further air movement. Will add photos later, enjoy the time lapse of last week and happy growing all.

Now just tucking and weaving the canopy and attempting to keep things even(ish). Refreshed the CO2 Milk Jug and thats about it for today. Enjoy the time lapse of last week (!st week of 12/12).

Say 57, start of week 3 flower. Everything ticking along nicely so far. Tank got a full change out today. Have dropped the A&B strength slightly to EC1.4 as the last couple of days, the EC has went up 0.1 per day (hitting 2.0 today) so thinking they're happy with water at the moment for this last week of transition before full force flower (And the PK warrior starts getting added in!). pH came out at 5.5 from the mix so left it at that as this is a 1 week tank (due to PK warrior going in next week). History shows my tank rising around 0.1 per day so will do my usual daily checks just to see if any adjustments are needed but hoping this should do it for the week. Hope you're enjoying the diary and happy growing all! :)

Evening all, noticing I have some yellowing leaves at the bottom of the plant and they're breaking away easy. Top very healthy as can be seen in pics but wondering is this normal for a SCRoG? Light Deprivation maybe?

It’s normal under the scrog the leaves will not get light so give nutrient to the upper part of the plants and die ✌️🏽

Day 71 - Fresh tank...all new nutes. Started PK Warrior today so they'll be on that for the next 4 weeks as I start to drop the bloom nutes gradually. Noticed on my time lapse on the Saturday night (Their day), they had quite a heavy sag...as much as I've been very critical of EC/pH numbers and the likes, I missed out on light height and it was getting a bit close and starting to heat stress them a bit...raised it on the Sunday and the last 18secs of the time lapse shows them bounce back great. Have raised it even further today to get it approx 14"-15" from the tallest cola, 16"-17" average from the rest. Noticing as well a lot more bottom leaves dropping off...hoping this is from light deprivation...have some proper, shriveled up dry ones in there too but some still green just coming away with a slightest touch - its near lollipopping themselves so all I am doing is removing whats hanging loose and trying to leave as much on there to allow the plants to absorb what it can before it discards them. As the canopy looking so strong, and flowers do seem to be getting bigger from the time-lapse, I'm not going to worry (just yet).

***New Addition*** Day 82 - Big tank change out. Had a massive drop in pH while EC rose some again (Only been adding RO water the last few days to keep tank in check around EC1.2-1.3, had jumped to 1.6. PH Drop was from 5.9-6 to 4.9-5.0 from it being stable for 4-5 days). After epsom salting the leaves last week, still noticing some lower leaves "Praying" and some dead and drying ones hanging from the plant. Its getting to about the mid-way point of the plant now (again, all that's under the scrog but...) but getting too close for comfort!!! Have edited my formula slightly for this change out to: *2ml/L Bloom A & B (So 100ml of each in a 50L tank) *1ml/L Silicon *0.6g/L Epsom Salts *1ml/L 9/18 PK Warrior (This was a f**k up, should have been 0.5ml/L - hopefully doesn't impact or isn't the cause for Mg issues - causing a lockout) 2ml/L Sumo Active Boost 2ml/L Fulvic Acid 2ml/L Sensizym 2ml pH Down to bring the lot to pH 5.7-5.8 This brought me to about 1.6EC, pH6.4 (Expected value was 1.521 from Hydrobuddy Calc for the * ingredients - My water bases at 0.2EC so a close enough calc!!!) - Higher than I have been putting in but i think most of the EC rise is from the Sulfate in the Epsom Salts (The Sulfur alone is about 0.32EC). Also, with it coming late autumn and the tent in an outdoor cabin, got a temp controller to bring on a heater to stop the temp dropping below 16.5C...its now averaging out around 18.7 during the night so that's decent enough (Was potentially getting sub 15C - recent day temps have been 9-11C so could have been pretty chilly in there!!!). Also put my aquarium heater in the tank to bring the solution to around 19C as 1 of the plants has grew an absolute root mass into the tank itself - It is defying the Smart Pots and getting itself into there even after a pruning a few weeks back!!! So, tank change happened a few days early but what the hey...passed the time with a hot whiskey or 5!!! :P ******************************************** Day 78 - Really haven't done anything with the girls the last week. Just been topping up with pH adjusted water, bringing down the nute strength a bit as they're taking on water but not really taking on any nutes. General monitoring. Think I am going to have to get a heater out in the cabin as the night (IRL Day temps) are getting 15C and below so worried that could be impacting some nute uptake - Gave them an epsom foliar last night and then the bi-weekly Geisha foliar spray just before lights out this morning. Apart from that, nothing new. Happy growing all.

Day 89 - pH thing has been quite steady the last few days, but I think part of the reason is I have been keeping it over 6 (between 6.1 & 6.3) which makes me think it may not be able to feed on something so keeps pH stable (This pH issue could be root acidification with too much Potassium; it seems to coincide with the PK Warrior being added - pH needs to be below 6 for Potassium uptake to happen so I artificially blocked it by keeping pH above 6!!!). EC also going up but not as quick as it was...drops back further than it was when adding RO water (i.e. if it drank 10L and EC went from 1.7 to 1.9, adding 10L back takes it to 1.6). So, as I have been promising myself for the last couple of days, I did a full tank change. Have dropped the feed substantially for the start of week 7 (Which is technically Monday coming). New Nute Strength: Silicon - 1ml/L Sumo Boost - 2ml/L Bloom A - 1.2ml/L Bloom B - 1.2ml/L PK Warrior - 0.4ml/L Sensizym - 2ml/L Fulvic - 2ml/L EC 0.8, pH 5.9 Did have A & B @ 1ml/L but EC was barely 0.7 (Background EC of water is 0.2) so added the touch more A&B so as not to super starve them. Will now monitor pH/EC for the next few days and try to keep levels nice and even for the next 9-10 days before going to week 8 force and week 9 flush and the finishing bulb! ************************************************* Day 85 - Dayum this pH management getting funky now!!! For the last week, pH keeps taking a nose dive (0.5-0.7 a day) with water level dropping and EC rising. Can't work out what the girls are at at all. Apart from lower leaf loss due to light being blocked, the plant is creating some new leaf matter (As you would expect) where light is getting reflected down low but can't work out the pH drops. No matter what EC i set them too, or pH, they only appear to be taking on water...or something micro (Ca/MG or the likes) and leaving the macro's. Topped up tank with some RO (Reclaimed from dehumidifier) water and only added calmag since tank change 3 nights back (It has some N in it for the new green and hopefully just gives what it needs with Ca/Mg). Apart from that, just keeping an eye on things to make sure no burn...dont want to put them on a starve on the beginning of Flower week 6!!!

Starting to ramp down the feed now. Girls still seem to be ticking along nicely and just continuing to monitor daily. Water has stayed more stable (pH Wise) with less of the PK Warrior so believe the pH drops was probably root acidification from Potassium Excess. Staying Stable enough around 5.8-6.2 with basic, usual intervention. Will be keeping it around this for the week and then onto the Dragon Force Next week and the 10K finisher bulb for the last 2 week!

Day 99 - Change up for ripening. Have Moved to the Sunmaster 10K finisher to see about frosting up dem der buds. Have also moved to using Dragon Force now to get the final push on them prior to flushing them back for the harvest. Getting plenty of Brown pistils (Much easier to see under the 10K) but from last nights look, trichs were still pretty clear. Have ordered a wee USB microscope of the Big Bad Amazon to give them a better look (expecting it Wednesday) as the wee handheld loope I have is pretty pish!!! Apart from that, its now a watching and waiting game! Hope you all enjoy the vid/pics and happy growing all!!!

Day 107 - Day late and a dollar short on my Update! :P Haven't added any new nutes...just topping up with water on the current base and then will flush around Thursday. The Cookies Kush all look done...pistils been brown and shrunk for days now. The Purple punch still showing a lot of white pistils though and its the oldest of the 4 plants and should be done the quickest (Per Barneys Flower Time Expectations). Am well over the 8 weeks now and will play the flush by ear, like I say, expecting Thursday for a 4 day flush in Hydro but may stretch the current nutes out the end week to see if the Punch Browns (It is fox-tailing slightly...but this can be expected with Purple strains). Apart from that, nothing else to do but wait til harvest! :) Also, have to note...can't say I have sen an increase in frosting using the 10K bulb from where they were before I introduced it a week ago but could be something that's been that gradual, its really been unnoticeable! What I have noticed with it is Cola Leaves starting to Pray, so they're getting some light intensity without bleaching or burning so it has done something...if its beneficial, I can't really say!

@NorthernFrostCannabis I believe the idea of flushing (and I am neither for nor against) rallies round the fact that this is the only fruit you really dry and smoke! When the plant loses its water through drying and curing, the salts come out of solution in the cells and crystalise in the flower; this leads to harsh burning, sparking and the "Black Ash" phenomenon. As a counter (For debate only), you don't dry strawbs or anything else for smoking so there is no other real comparison out there (Apart from maybe some natural psychedelics or something similar). The only close comparison I can think that shows how salts can affect the smoke/smoothness/ash colour/burning out is counterfeit cigarettes. If you buy a legit brand, light it and leave it in an ashtray, it will burn through with a clean white ash all the way to the butt. If you buy counterfeit smokes, light them and leave them in an ashtray, you'll see they burn to black ash and burn out way before the butt. This is "believed" to happen due to the fact that brands "poison" their off cuts and left overs of tobacco with Saltpeter (Potassium Nitrate - KNO3) and that's what the counterfeiters use when making their cheap branded smokes (The 'poisoned' off cuts that is). If you smoke tobacco and have bought the cheapo version of brands, you'll defs have come across this. Suppose the idea of flushing is to make sure the extra Potassium you add during flower for boost or the nitrate used during grow gets used up so as there is as little as possible to crystalise in the dried product; giving a smoother and better quality end product. Stress as well...It can be productive in growth of cannabis as we light stress it into flowering, LST and HST all the time for better yields (topping/FIMMing, bending, supercropping, etc.). Plus, studies have shown that UVB, which is a massive stressor to the plant, is one of the reasons resin is produced...its a UVB blocker so the plant makes it to protect itself from cellular damage - we just have to make sure we use the right stressors at the right time! Again, I am in no way disagreeing with you...but its always good to have healthy debate around things! :) Cheers for the answer and happy and healthy growing to yourself too! :)

Strangely, leaving the leaves on is better and faster for drying your flowers, as there is more surface area for the water to "escape" from. If you wet trim, all the water in your flowers must "escape" through the flowers themselves, which can leach some of the terpenes out at the same time. Also the trichomes are much better protected against falling off if you dry the flowers with the leaves left on. If you wet trim, all the trichomes are exposed and can get rubbed off much more easily, mainly just from handling them. If you leave the leaves on, and hang the flowers upside down, the leaves will droop around your flowers, forming a kind of protective layer. To protect your flowers and their trichomes to their best standard, it is best to trim right before consumption. Hope this helps.... Organoman.

Quite a leafy strain...esp. the sat pheno one. Was going to tackle wet trimming but as I had it vine hanging while trimming/manicuring my purple punch, the stickiness of this plant made me back off and go for the hang for dry trim. Smells great and the Sat Pheno is the frostiest girl out of the bunch with some serious colas...cant wait for the dry now to get this trimmed and ready for jars and a wee test! :)

As a 1st time grower and and trimmer I have to say I am impressed. The smell of this is divine!!! Not the usual "grassy" weed smell (actually, nearly none)...just fruitiness like you wouldn't believe. Much props to @gmslave who gave me some incredible advice during the grow as, and I don't doubt without it, I wouldn't have got the outcome I did! approx. 60+ stems with decent buds on them all..even the abused one gave me a decent lift so was a bonus! With somewhere in the region of 800g of trim, hoping to get a reasonable amount of bubble from this (going by standard guesstimates, even at 10% return, should be 3oz or a bit over) and if it holds its smell profile, damn it should be a tasty hash!!! Can't wait to give this a hit in a bowl Binderella = 24g (Not bad for a plant that died twice!!!) Purple Punch - 133g (This one had no issues throughout the grow apart from a mag def in flower). Defs. room for improvement on my part but hey, 1st timer...need to make the mistakes to learn from them!!!
