Hello people I have moved these into their new home the flower tent. have started feeding them at an ec.1.4 and will continue to increase as long as I see no signs of overfeed. the empty pot is waiting for the tutukamon to enter veg then she will be in there too these strains are heavy yielding so I hope to pulll a fair amount the first lot of lst training will begin when I have picked up so bamboo shoots from a friend for more support for the plants I don't think the netting is sufficient enough to hold very large plants. I know alot of other growers tend to use yo yos which is great but im looking for something more stable and also not to have a jungle of cables hanging around my very expensive light. The weather seems to be great bbut not so good for my ladies bring back the english weather. II went to see my outdoor grow the other day and i have seen pistils but I'm not convinced shes started to flower yet II may haveto black out the green house for a day or so to help her along. Okay I fucked up pushed the nutes way to high for thiis stage flushed them out and adjusted to around 0.5-0.6 ec to kick them back into gear. Dang nute burn.
@StunFlower, I know right Maybe I'll be able to guess in a few weeks by the reviews haha. They cant go into flower untill the other log is down ive also tried my hand at monster cropping so I think ill be adding a clone in there very shortly too. so that should work out fine forr the next run never done a cutting from a flowering plant so will be interesting to see :) I've already rooted her and i think she is back on 24 but will be put into 18 6 so well see if she survives :)
Complete newbie to cannabis growing, just reading avidly and learning. Came across your diaries searching Hydrocrop nutrients (I use them for other hydro stuff). Not sure about your black dog - maybe a generic issue with that one plant? But if you are still using the Hydrocrop nutes and only feeding the base A you will definitely have major deficiencies. It needs to be used together with the B part, not on its own.
@Faroutman, Cheers man :) I understand your analogy perfectly :) Though I think I will invest in some much more accurate EC and PH meters This week Because the ones I'm using are cheap and It's something You do really only need to buy once so may aswell get quality. I think its just dialing in and getting the mixture correct. I mean I cant flip my plants because now they are showing signs of yellowing towards the middle of the plant which I have had before and I'm sure it was down to under feed. So I'm going back in there tonight to re feed and up the ec of all the plants that have just really got into veg I think I am pumping too much air into that tent too so I will be removing one of the fans now the weather in the uk has turned normal :). So that should help abit too I will update the diaries either today or tomorrow to show you the problems I'm having if you could take a look and point me in the right direction one plant is effected alot more than the rest and I am worried about it :( thanks for all your advice man. You know this site isnt just for Cannabis you can start a diary for your tomato plants too :) Id love to see it give you a lil boost if you ever do decide to start your cannabis portfolio :)
@TheUk420Show, I didn't know that you use tap water. As I said, if you are putting 250ml of the HydroSol stock solutions into a 60ml reservoir, that should increase the EC by around 0.5. If your tap water is already around 0.4, that gets you up to around 0.9, which ties in with where you say your feed is at.
I also use tap water. I find the Hydrocrop nutes work well with it.
I do think there is some truth in what plant breeders claim about genetics, but it's often exaggerated. In my experience with plants like tomato (of which there are also hundreds of varieties), some take to hydro better than others, and some are naturally better yielding. If you choose a lower fruiting variety, you can try to optimise the feed all you want but it will never give the greatest yield; particularly if that variety doesn't much like hydro. But all the seed catalogues try to convince you that they have the best. I guess they have a living to make but it does annoy me when breeders make false promises.
I know what a good tomato feed regime is. So I generally just try to pick varieties that perform well with it, rather than battling to get a crap variety to grow better!
I think with plant nutrients it is more clear cut than with genetics, and easier to see through the BS. Compare it to human nutrition⦠If you have three kids, feed the first one rubbish, feed the second a balanced and healthy diet, feed the third premium ready meals and vitamin supplements. The first will grow up not too healthy. Whereas the other two will grow up EQUALLY healthy⦠but the third one will have cost way, way more to feed. I mean there is nothing wrong with the premium ready meals and vitamin supplements per se, but there is no discernible benefit either. Just fancy packaging, a bit of convenience and much more cost.
Not sure that was the best analogy⦠But you know what I mean! Ready made liquid nutes and additives work fine, but you get the same standard of nutrition at far lower cost the way you are doing it.
@Faroutman, Thanks for a quick reply my friend :) Thanks for your advice I will try switiching the feed to your recommended dosages :) Are you saying I should us the EC as guide rather than law ? Or am I misunderstanding ? Yes you are correct you can get a vegging plant to around 1.0 EC with no problems. Though that is only one stage of 5 how I see it which is. Germination, Seedling, Pre veg, Veg And then flower. So what I was wondering could I select an ec for maybe 3 or 4 of them stages. I would really like to maximise speed in the Hydro system I know thats not impossible. Yes I understand Completely about the plants needing more Cal mag because there is no actual medium and the fact I use expensive 3200k full spectrum lighting which is LED so I had this in mind while purchasing the hydrocrop has that has very good levels of cal mag. When you put it like that I am not using alot. I have seen ppl that can push the EC of thier plants upto around 2.0 but this is only when the plant is large enough to take such amounts anywhere past 8 weeks of vegative growth. The EC meter is Calibrated I do beleive. The EC of my tap water comes out at around 0.4 anyway. which I believe is normal. So I do take that into consideration when mixing maybe that is where the mix up has been. PPM is American or Parts Per Million. It's just a more complicated way of doing the same calculations from what I can tell. thats the million dollar question with cannabis when you stack it against other plants. there is no other plant on earth with so many commercial breeders of something thats illegal in most the world. Its crazy and each claim to have the best of the best and each of them say all of thier plants and strains are unique and you need to treat them differently. Do you think thats just like the nutes alot of label bs ? and probably what im best of doing is finding an ec to suite all plants at each stage of growth and heading forward from there moniter the EC to make sure we are not over feeding but generally let the plant tell me what she needs like any other ?
@StunFlower Haha That would be good lol do they even still use them in theatres surely not haha Though I have seen breeders try catalogs like this and it work to some degree. haha
@Gizzzzy, I have never grew an autoflower before XD I don't like the idea of not being able to train a plant how i want to. Autos can go out whenever I hear though with the stresses outdoors can have I wouldnt like to try it uness grew indoors first :) though i have friends who gurrila grow them. I suppose it all goes on your experience. Thanks you too. if you ever decide to take the yt dip :) reg turning fem is always good :) congrats hehe
@TheUk420Show, yeah your right there, March is around the best time. I usually just put autos outside but I got a reg turned fem out there. I love the timelapse videos there mint !!! Let me know when it's all up and running I'll subscribe to your channel βπ»
@StunFlower, Haha love the emoji :P Whats soil never heard of that π Ahh ive given them 4 days the ec has never gone over 1.6 so i think that should be alright :) π
@TheUk420Show, Flushing is a contentious topic. A lot of growers see it as completely unnecessary. I've always done it. I think 2-10 days is pretty standard with DWC; length dependent on how heavily you feed your plants. I've gone to plain water 7-10 days prior to harvest before and just let the plant feed off itself and fade away - nice colour show. With DWC we have the advantage of being able to change our reservoirs to plain water and cut the plant off from any nutrients instantly so they don't need to flush as long as plants growing in soil. π½
@StunFlower, Thank you man :) it is only a 12 or so days and then the real fun begins with the switch I'm going to be so busy running 7 different diaries lol Though I'm up for the challenge :)
I mixed up the strains on 1 of my last grows.. was the main reason why I put 2 strains in 1 diary. I wasn't sure until about 3-4 weeks into flower. lol good luck trying to figure it out.
Hi guys I have a youtube channel now and I have 0 subscribers so if anyone would like to be generous and check it out there is a time lapse video of this grow and walk arounds and a light unboxing :) its the same name uk420show so hopefully I can acutlly do a weekly show of the plants and live upto my name hehe here is a link to my channel :) I would really apprieate any sub :) π thanks for all your guys support :) www.youtube.com/channel/UCD5rmomlZpm5SYuX2F-9wLg
@@decam, Thanks man only one is heathly and growiing fast the others are yellowing for some reason ii think its lack of feed and lack f oxygen in the water so i have replaced air stones and added an extra pump lol The queens are just coming up now so wont be long before these are iin thier new home the flower tent and then they get fed and stronger light ect.
