I had another strain, but I think when it germinated there was some compost that was still a bit green and ended up infecting the seed. So the gorilla is about 1 -2 weeks behind the kush

I'm paranoid of over watering, or too much light. Had them under the bigger light for a day and thought they looked a little bleached so have them back under the viparspectra with light dialled back to about 8000 luxury. Not sure if either of these is why it's going so slow.

Looking at other diaries, these seem to be going so slow. Not sure if it's not enough water, light, or ventilation being under the house

They do look just a little smaller than usual for 3 weeks, but if you keep it warm, moist, and a moderate amount of light they should be fine. You can water a 1/2 liter in a circle around the plant to avoid over watering. For the light as long as you keep it a good distance away it should be fine.👍

I realised room temp was way too low, about 15 -17 degrees. Have blocked up all the air gaps the wind was blowing through and added a little heater. Hopefully next week's growth will improve

I put a small column heater in the room and managing to keep temp above 20 degrees now. I think that was the main issue. Have also managed to increase the humidity a little. The gorilla blue is 2 weeks younger, and had a troubled childhood, so don't judge her too harshly. No idea what caused the bizarre growth at her tip, but she seems to of gotten over it, almost like she auto topped herself. The blue kush is starting to smell amazing already. I need to check the room several times a day just to be sure and have another sniff

I think they are finally happy with the conditions. I also put an electric blanket under which I can feel is warming the pots and has gotten rid of the cold floor. The blue kush is getting stupidly fat for its height. The gorilla blue is still way behind but starting to do something more than look at me.

Well the gorilla was planted 2 weeks behind the kush, and looking at everyone else's diary's both plants are about 2 weeks behind the average. But they are looking very happy now. The kush looks like a novelty plant with ridiculously fat dark leaves on this short stocky plant. There's not actually many leaves but their coverage is huge. The gorilla which fimmed itself is a pile of leaves on top of each other at the moment. I'm hoping she'll stretch out and get some space

Hi. Am thinking this is just the bottom leaves starting to die off. But am slightly worried it could be signs of something else

Hello So that discoloration is a bit odd...yes you're gonna get some leaves dying off from age, lack of light, splashes from water etc. But I'm thinking this could be fixed up by lowering your ph by a whole point down to the 6.5 range and then bringing in some mild nutrients if you don't already have dry ingredients established. The one leaf makes me think of a magnesium deficiency with it's discoloration happening between the veins. But mostly I'd say fix the ph and then evaluate how the plants doing.

They've both started flowering at same time coincidentally. The kush has enormous fan leaves covering everything. The gorilla has the weird self topped thing going with tiny internodal spacing so she is very leafy looking too. Gorilla is only about 20cm so no idea how she'll turn out. I've done a bit of lst just trying to pull the stems out away from the middle and fan leaves. General consensus seems to be not to cut anything off autos, so I'm just going to try and let them be. Pretty happy with how they both look, aside from the size and shading issues.

I think the leaves might be nut burnt. I haven't added any nuts but I did drop the pH in the water down from 7.8 to 6.5 Maybe that let the plant take up too much nuts which it couldn't do as well with the higher pH? Maybe I went too far? Maybe it's something else. Anyway, back to watering with straight tank water again. I'll see what the next lot of leaves do before I panic. It's interesting how it's just certain sets and not all over. Aside from that I'm pretty happy with them. They look really happy and are starting to smell a bit. If I sniff one then the other repeatedly, (as if anyone would do that) they both have a sort of fruity sort of green smell. Maybe blueberries maybe not. But the gorilla blue has more of a diesel sort of sharpness to it whereas the blue kush smells more sweet. I plan to roll around in a pile of it to use the smell as cologne if I grow enough.

The blue kush new growth looks good but all the big fan leafs were looking pretty sickly and starting to die off. Still tossing up if it's nutrient burn or lock out. I know they didn't like it when I pH'd the water too low. The gorilla blue is pretty full and will have a good number of buds. Not sure how big they'll be as I think the whole thing is stunted. It looks sort of yellow too compared to the other plants. They are both a bit behind other grows, i think because I struggle to get the temp over 20. Maybe some other problems.

After continued advice, I've started adjusting water down to pH 6.5 again. I'll just be careful not to overdo it like I did last time giving those splotchy leaves. Buds are developing fast now they've started. They're mostly short and fat at the moment, but hoping they stretch out a bit as they fill in. The blueberry kush smells like blueberry syrup, it's quite amazing. The gorilla glue also has a decent blueberry smell but with more of a diesel note or something.

Think they're both getting pretty close. I screwed up the pH in the water again. It's not that hard, but I'm just heavy handed some times. Pretty annoyed it's so close to the end that I did it. Lots of splotchy leaves on the gorilla blue, hopefully the buds aren't too affected

I pH burnt the fuck out of the gorilla blue, great timing. Have flushed her a couple of times, so if it's actually an over watering problem I'm screwed again. She does have my favourite smell now though, even though she's like a little burnt bonsai. The kush is getting pretty over powering. Blue kush is starting to get some great colours, think she's starting to fade. Most pistils brown, but trichomes still none amber.

I did a half harvest on both of them this week. The kush because the top looked ready, and the gorilla because I was worried about that die back. Kush leaves are looking so malnourished with all the nutrients sucked into the bud, but there's no point feeding her now. The trichs haven't started to turn yet, so I'm hoping they may still fatten up some more

They're still not turning amber, so I'm letting them go for now. They've actually started to get new leaves although I thought they were about to die. Not sure about the gorilla, but the buds on the kush have fattened up in this time.

The plant was mostly happy. I stunted it several times though, so am sure I could have got better yields. Smelt great growing, but only some of the buds have had an amazing taste on the exhale. I'll try and cure the second half properly before commenting again. Pretty potent all round high. I was smoking some super strong hydro before this. This seemed as strong, but the hydro felt like a narrow 2 dimensional high compared to this which felt like your whole head

The plant had the weird growth where it topped itself early on. So always looked stunted. Then I screwed up close to harvest. So was surprised the yield was as high as it was. I've smoked some uncured, quite potent, nothing too remarkable about the flavour. Will come back after second half has cured properly if I have the will power.

Hi [SMALL EDIT] I JUST SAW U HAVE 17 DEGREES daylight ? THIS IS TOOOO COLD and thats the reason (you should be at 25)[end of edit] Definetly slow..... What u have to know with auto is that the more Light they get the better it is ( i personally do mine on 20h cycle from seed to harvest and it has always worked) so its definetly not the light. (put your light at 50cm to see the result) Your vegetation stage seems stopping or has already stopped The most common reason of stopping the veg is : overwatering or overnutriting. From my experience with auto at seedling stage i always put not more than 300ml every 3 days with a 18l pot with no nut untill they reach a good size. (2 level of leaves fully develop) The other reason can be your soil. If not good quality. Roots are not developing. Other and last reason i can see is the humidity.... If you dont reach 70% constant humidity in your box during veg they Ill never grow. (roots are too fragile to develop so leaves needs water from the air to develop themselves) Hope it can help. Cheers and dont give up.

They are showing quite slow growth for the 3rd week mate 🤨 I don't think it's a lighting issue. What are your 1-Temperature 2-Humidity 3-Medium type (make of soil)? We will get you back on track 👌 All the best ✌️ Mark..

@DinafemSeeds, Cheers for the advice. I think the lights are OK, have 150 watt led over the plant, with about 30,000 lux at the top. Temp is definitely a problem, it's mid winter here still. pH I'm unsure of. Haven't got a soil pH tester, but the water is about 7.5 and so is run off. I tried adjusting water down to 6.5 but ended up with leaves getting splotchy and starting to die. There were a lot of gnats earlier on too. It smells great, just slow and small. Any suggestions are appreciated 🙂

DinafemSeedscommented5 years ago
@yinandyang, after reading more of your diary I'm confident the slow growth is down to 2 main factors 👍 1- Not enough light with lights on temps being very low. 2- PH issue ;) What PH is your feed/water mate? All the best ✌️ Mark..

@DinafemSeeds, Realised my temp has been way too low, about 15 degrees, 50% humidity
