Started off rough as I planted the seed in jiffy peat pellets rather than their final pot (5gal smart pot) which I have read is recommended with auto-flowering seeds, regardless, I have successful germination in both with the jiffy pellets; planted 06/15 and sprouted 06/18. next is weening the pellets into gradual direct sunlight each day, so far 1 hour in the morning and then 5pm-sunset update noticed some webs around my seedling and what looks to be a spider mite under one of my leaves...so disappointing this early, moved locations update 6/23 transplant into 5 gal fabric pots filled with Fox Farm Ocean Forrest mix, almost half perlite and vermiculite for a lighter soil mixture, still gets 1 hr direct sun and couple hours direct evening sun, watering a bit more frequently due to heat advisory in FL, hoping 100 degrees will not kill my seedlings!! ipdate so far the neem oil spritz at night has worked, no more spider webs !! great growth

growing pretty darn fast, had to spray neem oil a few times caught a few pests, nothing major...introducing more direct sun time in the morning and evening hours added cal-mag in water feed (will only do once a week) and added a basil companion plant 7/5/20 gets direct sun 10am-12pm 3pm-sundown pH of water is 7, still waiting on a reliable soil pH tester

Have you been able to see these white flies clustered on the bottoms of your leaves? They like to hang out there and can often be photographed. If you're mainly seeing them around the soil level and then flying out once watered that may be fungus gnats. Either way, I have had the best success at 1) buy "mosquito bites " and water into soil to kill any possible larvae(wont harm roots or plants), 2) Dr. Bonners soap(mixed with water) basically makes an absolutely harmless and effective insecticidal soap...but you have to apply all over and regularly until gone but it's very successful. Any bug dr bonners hits is one dead flying bug. 3) you can also do a hydrogen peroxide water which helps the roots and works moderately well. For the leaves, maybe back off the neem and then what's your ph like? The yellowing may not be completely connected to the spray. Also its very common for the first 3 sets of leaves to yellow and die off.👍

Reacting well to the first feed of cal-mag nutrients, noticing new growth on northern delights plant as I removed a baby caterpillar who nested and was eating new growth from stem early into her life...hopefully recovering, you can tell the leaves are halfway cut off from being eaten when growth was incoming. trying to keep plants in direct sun 24/7 but too nervous with Florida heat and uv index. still keep them out of sun 12pm-3pm, watering about 20oz each plant every night with neem oil spray update 7/12 been keeping them out in the sun and rain, letting them go natural, they seem big enough to handle all the elements and if I notice heat stress or leaf burn I will reassess, still seeing the leaf miners make their scars, continuing with neem

7/16 start of week 4, very thick stems, might be getting a bit top-heavy might wrap stem to a stick, dunno yet, otherwise plant is healthy lots of rain last night on its second weekly dose of cal-mag 7/19 measured the ladies out of curiosity auto hash tallest at 21 inches. good temps and sunshine this week, no heat flashes and plenty of rain almost every day 7/22 25 inches for super hash, stem is a bit leany, been turning plant with wind when I can to help straighten naturally, nutrients tomorrow night

watering per usual, lately mother nature has been doing that job so I don't have to, but occasionally I do, watching them grow at least an inch each day, spray neem oil a couple of days out of the week. 7/29 nutrients, noticed they are drinking more water! about 1 gal a day depending on rain, been cutting off a few dead leaves from the bottom of super hash this week...also having to inspect daily for critters, noticed some webbing and it will be a fairly normal-sized spider that I scrape off, not spider mite i don't think

lots of yellowing of the bottom leaves, ph soil tester came in the mail and tested 6.5 for my soil, not sure why so much yellowing of leaves end of week six, lots of cutting dead yellowing leaves, not too much at once to not stress them, besides that good growth, seeing some orange hairs

8/7 per usual 8/9 yikes, what a storm last night, had to move my plants a few more times then I would've liked to due to winds and rain all day and night. ran out to see my northern delights completely knocked over flat on the ground, mother nature hit me where it really hurts last night, anyways no severe damage to either plant, soaking up the sun as I type this. 8/10 plant elevators came in, huge thanks to @Professor_Daank for pointing out extra drainage with these handy things. 8/13 came back from the beach for a few days and gee the girls really suffered, not much I did besides water, talk to them, and cut some dead leaves in the morning

8/21 Storms all yesterday and last night, got some sun today until about 3pm more rain...thank god for fabric pots! hopefully won't have to worry about overwatering too much. Lots of trichome production around bud sites and more orange hairs 8/24 storm winds 17mph...seems strong enough to handle it 8/26 gave some nutrients today, lots of sun and heat lately, more noticeable trichome and orange hair production and fattening of buds, smell is strong and northern delights seems to have a darker color green and bushier overall then the super hash, guess that just comes down to genetics.

I have made the mistake of not separating my plants after harvest so I do not know what is super hash and what is northern delights, newbie mistake I know...Day time smoke, very smooth and head-clearing, focused and euphoric, truly never smoked anything like it so far!

@hannabis420, I completely agree. Better to lose some than everything. Weather here is better than last year. 2019 was rain from September till half October, now it's like summer wtf😁😂

@Clutch, just a minor loss in what could have been a whole plant if I didn't harvest in time, got hit with tons of rain this past week 90% humidity....makes me want to switch to indoors from now on. Will update diary with weight and pics of dried bud by the end of this week hopefully.. thank you!!!

To bad about the bud rot towards the end. I've had that same problem every time I've grow outdoor where I live. I'm glad you managed to salvage some to enjoy though.

hannabis420commented4 years ago
@indoorontario, yeah high humidity is hard to avoid here in FL- im gonna try and set up some type of tarp to pull over my plant next outdoor season so when it rains buds won't get wet...it's just a matter of catching it every time it rains lol, but ill try
