Seeds were left in a cup of water for 18 hours before being moved to wet paper towel, germination took maybe 24 hours from there, then 48 hours later they were out of the rock wool and moved to soil (FFOF) another 48 hours later. Other pots are Bruce Banner x White Russian but haven’t had any luck getting them to sprout yet.
Week 2 of these Do Sweet Dos! Growth looks good and I will be moving to 1 gallon pots after this week. There were 2 light waterings during the week and of course daily misting of the plants. Temps and humidity have been in the 74-82 / 40% range for the entirety of the grow.
Transplanted to 1 gallon air pots, growth looks really solid as the last picture is 18 days from sprout. In comparison, the 2 small plants were started in water on the same day although they are 8 days younger from sprout.
Will be starting nutrients after this week and that week will start the actual 1st week of veg although this journal is from seed. Also considering just running these in super soil and avoid liquid nutrients altogether on these girls. Will decide before next watering and update next week.
Week 1 of official veg, not sure if I will go with 4 or 5 weeks. I did decide to go with liquid nutrients on these Do Sweet Dos. I’m running Advanced Nutrients Sensi Grow at the moment, will also be mixing in some Cal/Mag. Started with 1/4 recommended dosage and will work up from there. I also did some LST, pinning down the tops (no topping) of the girls. Will be moving to 3 gallon pots next week and then 5 gallon the following week.
This will be considered week 2 of veg, week 5 from seed. Moved to 3 gallon pots. Did not use any nutrients this week. Will do another transplant at the end of next week and hopefully they will be flourishing and really blow up at that point and then we can go back into nutrients. Was getting crowded in the seedling tent so I transferred to the my main tent. I wasn’t planning to make clones but I feel like these girls are pretty strong and might be worth doing. Main tent has 2x ES 300‘s and I brought along the MIGRO Veg as well but lights are all at about 50%. Added Co2 bags.
This week was all about growth. Transplanted from the 3 to 5 gal pots at the end of the week. Will veg for at least 2 more weeks since there is a ton of room with only the 4 plants and plenty of watts to work with. Not a very eventful week but that is a good thing.
Growth is really starting to show up on these girls through the last week. I have shied away from doing any defoliation up to this point and they are starting to get a little bushy. Will be using grow nutrients next week. Will continue to veg in order to give the 2 smaller plants in the tent some time to grow. Canopy doesn’t seem too uneven at this point and everyone looks to be doing well, will update next week.
Girls are looking great this week, they are definitely ready for flower if that’s where I was ready to go. Unfortunately, the 2 other girls in this tent are not ready so we will continue to veg. Resuming grow nutrients now but to be 100% honest, I could have probably skipped grow nutrients entirely and just ran bloom once we got to that stage. I’ve avoided any defoliation again this week, I’m not looking forward to cutting on such happy plants but they are getting very full and even with the amount of light I am running, I should probably be prepared to cut on her soon.
These girls look amazing! They are 8 weeks from seed and just healthy as can be. Other 2 plants in the tent are looking better but I am thinking more time in veg will really give them a chance to provide some quality weight and I’m not in any rush. Used light nutrient feedings this week followed by a plain watering and alternating each time they need watered (usually every 3 days). Did some heavy defoliation yesterday (pic included) and they seem to be responding ok, will do another round of defoliation during flower. Canopy looks great across all 4 plants, super stoked that lightly bending the main apical cola has been enough to spread the overall growth throughout the plants. Have been staying pretty consistent through veg misting a few times during each day while I do that LST also.
Girls are 9 weeks old and are really jumping into high gear with their vegetative growth. Will be flipping to 12/12 flower cycle next weekend. Have been staying with the same feeding schedule with nutrient feedings every other watering. My canopy is almost perfectly even, I’m very proud of how well they’ve all responded to training. Right now I have about 20 inches of space to work with for the stretch but I think that will be fine. The other plants in this tent are still small but I’m afraid of running out of room for the Do Sweet Dos. I haven’t encountered many issues during my first grow but this flowering phase has me a little freaked out. I do not plan to use a humidifier or dehumidifier nor any AC to control temp. Feel free to leave any advice or if it looks like I’m going to nosedive, please let me know. Thanks for checking out my grow!
No changes in their watering/nutrient schedule. Girls look to both be doing extremely well and should hit flower running. I had planned to start flower at the end of this week but I spoke with a few experienced growers and they suggested I veg the smaller 2 plants a little longer so we will give it another week before the 12/12 flip.
I had noticed a little bit of tip burning on 2 of the plants so I plan to add a 2nd plain watering between nutrient feedings in hopes that will help. I used a 1/2 recommended dosage most recently. Another small thing I noticed is that there is a mosaic pattern on some of the leaves and upon a little research I found something called Tobacco Mosaic Virus (TMV) which looks a lot like it, I will attach a few pictures of what I’m talking about and maybe someone else has another cause.
Ok sorry for missing a week. I ran into some additional problems with the plants accompanying the Do Sweet Dos. The Do Sweet Dos have been ready to flip for a few weeks. The Tobacco Mosaic Virus is pretty noticeable on the girls but I really don’t see them being slowed in their growth process yet. Going dark for 36 hours and then switching to a 12/12 cycle.
Girls are flipped after 36 hours of darkness, they have shown their sex, and have begun a slight stretch. I have not started bloom nutrients but will be running Advanced Nutrients Sensi Bloom. Both girls seem to be doing ok regardless of the Tobacco Mosaic Virus that I am assuming they have inherited from their mother. It has spread to the other plants in this tent but not badly. I have noticed a few leaves with twisted growth on the other plants, although those 2 are on another level with problems I’ve encountered. Let me just say, I wouldn’t recommend Prism Seeds.
12th day in flower last few pics. Pictures are taken throughout the entire week. Girls are starting to settle into their stretch, have gained about 5 inches since last week. Started bending some of my tops down to give the lower colas a chance to catch up. Did some heavy lollipop defoliation on 1 of the 2 plants to test outcomes. Nutrients are still being administered every 3rd feeding, waterings are every 2-3 days. Possible TMV is still pretty prominent in both plants. Any tips or advice is always appreciated!
19 days into flower. Girls are starting to settle in comfortably. Watering has increased to about every 2 days. Still doing 2 plain waterings followed by a feeding, so maybe one nutrient feeding per week. The waterings are 2 gallons per plant, per watering. I’m doing about 1/2 recommended nutrients from the advanced nutrients website calculator. Every watering I’m doing a little defoliation, pulling big fan leaves, fan leaves not getting enough light, really light colored lower fan leaves and a few tiny new sites. Have not had to troubleshoot these girls very much thankfully. Any questions or advice is appreciated. Thanks for checking out my diary. Happy growing 🙏🏻🌱
24th day of flower for these Do Sweet Dos from Sweet Seeds. I know it isn’t really 4 weeks yet but that’s just how it is right now. I’ll wait 10 days to do next update. Anyways, the feeding schedule was pretty identical this week as last, waterings were every 2-3 days, used just over 1/2 the recommended dosage from website calculator, nutrient feeding remained every 3rd watering. One thing the girls could use a little more color if anyone has any ideas as to what she seems to be missing. I started pulling some of the colas down out of the center to ensure there won’t be a high humidity bubble in the center. I’m pretty much done defoliating altogether. The smaller girl who I lollipop’d (veronica) you can tell she put all her focus into those buds immediately, where the girl I left to grow (betty) is much more full of sites but they are just a bit smaller, the weights at the end will give a better story but I’m excited regardless. Still signs of that Tobacco Mosaic Virus on the leaves but doesn’t seem to be doing them much harm. I really don’t have room, width wise for how bushy these girls are trying to be. Might look at upgrading to a 5x5. Any advice or questions are always welcome. Thanks for checking out my diary.
*Note: The 2 back plants are not written about in this diary but they are runts, Bruce Banner x White Russian from Prism Seeds if anyone was curious
Day 35 of flower. Lots of bud growth over the last week+, no real issues with these girls throughout the grow, they are really good looking plants outside of the possibility of TMV. Feedings have gone according to the Advanced Nutrients Calculator from their website, only I did about 2/3 dosage. The plant I lollipop’d (Veronica) has zero chance of producing the weight that I’m going to get off the non-lolli (Betty). I’m raising the lights up a few inches as some the upper leaves are starting to curl inwards. Added some support sticks to Betty that I bought down at the Home Depot. Hoping these girls continue to bulk up! I’ve seen some great grows from you guys so thanks for taking your time to check out mine 🙏🏻 Happy growing 🌱
Day 42 of flower. A few slight deviations, moved the lights back down to 18in from tallest cola as well as slightly tilting the lights for better coverage. I did use a lux meter this week and found that I was in the 60,000lux range for the middle but the edges were only at about 20,000lux so I adjusted and now its between 65,000 and 35,000lux throughout the tent which I can tell just seems brighter. I realized later just thinking about it that the light won’t reach as low on the plants with that adjustment but I think it’s worth it. Watering remains every 2-3 days, nutes at about 60% of advanced nutrients nutrient calculator. 4 weeks to go on this grow, hopefully the good luck continues! Thanks for checking out my grow, you guys are invaluable! Happy growing 🙏🏻🌱
Day 50 of flower. A little bit more growth, they both are doing well. Veronica is budding up nicely, I think I like the lollipop a little more now further into the flowering. Weights will probably not be close from plant to plant but, Betty was bigger anyways so she already had an advantage. I’ve been giving one feeding every 3rd watering but I will be switching it up going into this 8th week. Week 7 feedings were every 3rd watering, about 70% recommended from their website. I don’t feel like the pictures of these girls give them any real justice. Another week down, let me know if you have any tips/questions. Thanks for checking out my grow and happy growing 🙏🏻🌱
Day 57 of flower. Last week of feeding, will be going to plain water to finish the girls up. I added 4 UV bulbs to the tent this week and removed the MIGRO light. One of the plants in the back seemed to react negatively to the change so I have shut the UV lights down for a week to let them recover. The UV bulbs are about 2 feet above the canopy and I was running them for 10 minutes every 3 hours. Scroll the pics to the end if you want a quick laugh. Nothing more to really report, thanks for taking a look 👀 Happy growing 🌱🙏🏻
Day 63 of flower. Plain water only this week. Such a mess. One of the plants in the back ended up getting sick and I was forced to harvest these girls early. No fault of these Do Sweet Dos, they have been really great and did not show any signs of infection but I wasn’t going to risk any further damage to the tent. Will come back in a week with harvest information. Thanks for viewing. Happy growing 🌱🙏🏻
This was a really great first experience with growing cannabis. These Do Sweet Dos were very easy to grow and I will be growing this strain again hopefully. I have dried but have not cured the buds yet but I likely over-dried them, so it’s my fault there. I also would have liked to let these girls go for another week (10 total weeks of flower). The last thing I will add is about LST on these girls. The plant who I lollipop’d had so much nicer buds, and from what I’ve read I believe main-lining this strain would be extremely rewarding. Will update after curing 🙏🏻
