So I started all the seeds off in a paper towel for 3 days. Then planted them into rockwool cubes. Starting them off with just some RO water, eventually when their moved to their buckets I’ll add some CaliMagic to the water as well. Day 4, two had popped up and the other two still haven’t broke the surface yet. Day 5, third seed pops up, little behind but doing good. Fourth seed seems to be struggling, will give her another few days and see what happens. Day 7, fourth seed still hasn’t came up. Germinating my fifth and last seed to replace her, if she doesn’t make it. If she does make it, the weaker of the two plants will go into soil to play around with. Stronger plant will remain with others in DWC buckets. Note: Not so sure if I should even be adding CaliMagic at this point in time. I won’t start on nutrients until about the start of week 3. But first time using RO water so thinking adding a little calmag won’t hurt anything, as I know at some point when I feed I will need to add it.

Day 8, the fourth seed finally popped up out of the cube. But she looks a little deformed. Going to probably put her into a little soil and just experiment with her. She will be replaced by the new sprout I’m currently germinating. This fifth one will be a week behind, but she will be much stronger and thus worth the energy of putting into a bucket. Moved three girls into their buckets since their tap root was coming out the bottom of cubes. Day 9, fourth baby is still struggling. No sign of a tap root yet. We will see how she does. Other three are doing good. Just a little CaliMagic in the water. Will probably start a light nutrient solution soon and lessen the CaliMagic a bit as it brought the PPMs up a little higher than I want them to be prior to the nutrients. Day 10, #1 and #2 got 1g/gallon of FloraFlex V1 and V2 (1g of each). #3 got 1/4 strength Advanced Nutrients MGB base and full dose of B-52 and Voodoo Juice. #4 isn’t getting fed until I can at least see her roots showing out of the cube. She’s still struggling and very small in comparison. Day 13, #1-3 are looking great and so far loving their nutrient solution at around 400ppm. Unfortunately #4 did not make it, had to put her to rest (RIP). I have a sprout going to replace her, hopefully this one does much better!!! 2 Weeks, #1-3 are doing great, they’re coming along nicely. I lost the 4th seed, too much early on stress. Also have my 5th sprout coming up, hopefully she will do much better than her prior. One rockwool cube on #3 is as starting to grow algae. I didn’t fully cover the tops of the cubes with rockwool like I should have. So I took some black cloth cut it into smaller pieces to go below the plants and block out light to top of cubes. This should discourage any further growth (hopefully).

Start of week 3, the three survivors are doing great! I did happen to find some algae growing on top of one of the rockwool cubes. (This was my fault for not fully covering the tops of them with hydroton to block out light.) As an attempted fix, I cut some square pieces of black cloth that I laid of the top of the cubes to block out the light completely. Hoping removing their light source, the algae will die off and discourage any further growth. If it gets any worse I’ll try using a hydrogen peroxide solution. Day 17, the three ladies are looking nice. Starting to see some nice healthy roots populate inside the buckets. I went ahead and upped their nutrients today. We will see how they are doing in the morning. -FloraFlex - 1.5g/gal of each V1 and V2. -Advanced Nutrients - 1/2 strength MGB and hobbyist additives. **Algae update: seems like using the black cloth to block out all the light has killed off that algae growth and I don’t see anymore so it’s working!** Day 18, I thought one of my plants had root rot. Which was weird for it to happen that fast in less than 24 hours since changing the res. Come to find out it’s just nutrient stain from the Advanced Nutrients, so thank god. #1 and #2 which are growing with FloraFlex got FIMmed today. I’ve topped plants before but never FIM. Not sure if I did it right, but that’s the fun in all this, is experimenting to see what works. Day 20, #1 and #2 are responding well after being FIMmed couple days ago. I decided to FIM #3 as well. I also decided to leave the 4th one out of this diary from here on out since she’s behind. We will stick with the original three that survived from the start. So far I’m really loving their bushy appearance and thick leaves. Their roots are coming out super nice as well! Pretty soon these babies are going to just take off!

Day 22, haven’t seen the girls in 30 hours and just checked on them, they are doing great and bouncing back from the FIMming which is good. The lower branches have caught up to the tops, so hopefully we get a nice even canopy for flower. Very impressed with these ladies so far! Let’s see what the week has in store! Day 23, one plant started developing some yellowish spots on some fan leaves. Not sure why, I reached out on IG and somebody mentioned pH, so I checked and it’s at 5.0!!!! Way too low, so I was planning on changing the res tomorrow, but going to do that today now instead. We will see how she responds by the morning. I also upped everyone’s nutrients. #1 and #2 are both getting 2g/gal of both V1 and V2 from FloraFlex (about 770ppm) #3 is now getting 6ml/gal of each Micro, Grow, Bloom and 8ml/gal of CaliMagic. Day 24, not sure if I FIMmed the plants correctly, but they are putting on a lot of growth and pretty bushy. #1 which was had the yellow spots is still showing some other leaves with similar spots. I checked the pH again and it’s at 6.0. Just going to monitor her closely until I figure out what’s going on. Hopefully correcting the pH and maintaining proper levels will fix it. Day 28, the ladies are doing good. I sprayed them with some neem oil just in case the spots on the leaves are septoria. Rather safe than sorry. I also added some Co2 to their environment. Hopefully should see some great growth this next coming week!

The fan leaves on one of my plants are getting yellowish spots. I noticed it yesterday and checked the pH and I was at 5.0. I corrected it to 6.0 and 24 hrs later still 6.0 but some of the larger leaves are starting to show yellowish spots as well?

Hey buddy,I think that yellow spots mean Calcium deficiency.Cal and Mag are not available much in lower pH range. As I can see you are using pH perfect nute, I think you should change your res.

Day 30, the ladies seem to like the increase in Co2. I’m still battling the mysterious leaf spots. I sprayed them with Neem Oil just in case it’s some kind of fungus or septoria. This should stop it from spreading if it is. Still maintaining a 6.0 pH. They get a nutrients change in a couple days, I am going to give them a full dose of CalMag, it’s recommended at 5ml/gal and I’ve been giving them 4ml/gal. It’s RO water so CalMag is definitely needed. **I have solved the mysterious leaf spot issue. It’s a Calcium deficiency 100%. Going to raise the pH to 6.2-6.3 and give them full doses of CalMag and see how they respond. Upped their feeding this evening and changed their res. #1&2 are getting 7.5g/gal of each V1 and V2 from FloraFlex nutrients. #3 is getting 10ml/gal of Advanced Nutrients MGB, and 8ml/gal of B-52 Day 31, decided to give the girls a little trim today. #2 and #3 more specifically because they had huge fan leaves blocking out light to some lower sites. Hopefully this doesn’t endure too much stress on them. I’ve also had the lights dimmed this whole time, decided to amp it up to 100% power. Will update again in 2-3 days to see how their responding. Day 35, #1 was showing brown spots again, I think I may be giving them too much nutrients. I dropped the PPMs from 1080 to 880 and adjusted the pH because it was dropping. pH has stayed stable over past 24 hours, plant doesn’t have any affected new growth. I gave all the ladies another trim as they were getting pretty bushy. Still not officially flowering yet they should be starting here really soon though. I’ve never grown an Autoflower before but I’ll learn.

Day 36, start of week 6. I switched them to flowering nutrients today. #1-2 are getting 2g/gal of B1 & B2 from FloraFlex. #3 is now getting 12ml/gal of Micro, Grow, Bloom from Advanced Nutrients. Going to closely monitor pH and PPMs so o can hopefully correct the issue with brown spots on the leaves of #1. Day 38, ladies are loving the flowering nutrients thus far. They are stretching a bit and getting taller. Day 39, #1 is still showing signs of calcium deficiency. And looks like even signs of a magnesium deficiency on some leaves. I have been giving the recommended dose of CaliMagic (5ml/gal) but I am going to double down and use 10ml/gal and see how she does. Day 42, spots started showing on other plants and only thing that changed is I increased CalMag for all plants. I believe I’m adding too much causing Calcium to lockout. I was using 2.5x the recommended amount to be used along with FloraFlex nutrients. I looked back on notes and realized plant #1 didn’t start having spots until I doubled the CalMag that I officially started with. I trimmed all the effected leaves on the plants. Changed their reservoirs and readjusted nutrient solution. So let’s see what happens over the next week. I have a good feeling this will correct my issues!

So plant #1 is still having some Calcium deficiency issues. I’m using RO water and giving the recommended dose of CaliMagic which is 1tsp(5ml)/gal. I’m in DWC and using LED full spectrum lighting. Why can’t I stop these spots? Should I give more than recommended dose of CaliMagic

I'll elaborate what messes with a lot of people is that there is actually and excess of calcium and almost all cal mag formulas are formulated with nitrogen for Transportation except 1 that I know of.. Anyway Cal-Mag is gathering dust on my shelf.. I grow everything all strains with a lot of intense led light...

Day 43, pH is at 6.0 currently. Plants are praying towards the light so that’s a good sign. Some spots still show up on a couple leaves, just a couple small spots, could still be adjusting. Will know in another day or so if the problem has been corrected or not. Day 44, they seem to be responding better to the change in nutrients. They’re eating and still putting on growth. Some spots are appearing but that’s probably just still an affect of last weeks overload. Day 45, PPMs have continued decreasing and they have consumed about 1.5 gals of water over the past 72 hours. I topped off their res a little bit and readjust pH to 5.9 (it rose to 6.6 because they’re consuming a lot of nutrients) Day 47, Nutrients was almost gone, changed nutrients and bumped up to 800PPM (0.5 scale) Day 48, the nutrient solution inside the buckets gets up to 78-79° by the end of the day (lights on). When lights go off, they drop down to about 70-72°. I built some insulation sleeves out of double layer bubble foil. Should insulated them enough to maintain their lower temp without increasing throughout the day. You can see in photos but in the video I also created tops for each of the buckets to help reflect light and heat from the buckets. Day 49, plants are doing great PPMs are staying pretty stable meaning they have about the perfect ratio of nutrients which is 815PPM currently. Insulating the buckets was a great idea it’s kept the res temps stable and stopped them from rising throughout the day! Today marks day 14 of flower.

Day 51 from seed and 17th day of flowering for these 3 ladies. Bud sites are starting to stack and get larger. Starting to smell super gassy. I went ahead and topped of two of the ladies today as they are drinking a lot of water. Excited to see where we will be at end of this week!!! Day 55, the calcium deficiency is still going on. Switched to using Botanicare Cal-Mag Plus. Gave them 5ml/gal hopefully it fixes this deficiency issue! It’s all good this round is teaching me a whole lot about my setup and how to perfect this!

Day 59, seems like the ladies liked the change and higher dose of CalMag. #1 just has too many affected leaves to notice much change other than her nutrients uptake. #2 and #3 started showing signs of Calcium deficiency but I have not seen it spreading since the change in CalMag ratio. Think I’m going to stick with Botanicare CalMag Plus from now on. Day 63, ladies are still putting on weight. I introduced FloraFlex Full Tilt (bud ripener) to ladies #1 and #2. I’ll soon introduce #3 to Advanced Nutrients Over Drive. #2 is further along seems like than any of the others. She will be ready to come down in next week or two. I’ll flush for about 2-3 days since I’m in DWC

Start of week 10, day 64, got some cool trichome shots on the girls today. Day 67, ladies are packing on weight. I finally got some calibration liquid for my TDS meter, needless to say I think it was off these past few weeks. Well another lesson learned. I’ve been calibrating my pH pen but I didn’t have fluid for the TDS. Day 69, took some pictures of plant #2 trichomes. Looks like she still got another week maybe longer until she’s finally ready to chop. She’s still packing on weight. She’s the most mature of the bunch so she will definitely get chopped probably week or two before the others

Start of week 11, ladies are doing good and continuing to fatten up. Looks like #2 is pretty close to being done. Going to let her run through Wednesday, then check on her trichomes. If we got more amber I’ll begin the 3 day flush and chop her down on Saturday. If I feel she can go longer I won’t start the flush until Saturday/Sunday. Plants #1 and #3 still got another two weeks or so before they’re ready to chop. Day 72, I moved plants #1 and #2 to the front of the tent for easier access. They’ll be the first two done out of the 3 included in this journal. Also cleaned up some of the leaves on them to open up everything to light during these last 1-2 weeks. Still unsure if I’ll begin to flush #2 on Wednesday or wait till the weekend.. Day 74, checked trichomes and we still aren’t quite where we wanna be before I start to flush. I’m in DWC my flush is only about 3 days tops. We will check again start of next week and hopefully she ready. Day 76, checked on #2 she still not quite ready. I will probably let her run through Thursday next week, begin flush then chop on Sunday the 6th.

Day 78, I switched plant #2 to an all PK diet with FloraFlex Full Tilt. She’ll take up the whole 3.5 gals of nutes by Wednesday. I’m then going to begin my 3 day flush Wednesday evening. And I will chop her on Saturday evening. I also took a little sample nug off plant #2 just want to compare non-flushed to flushed weed. Also see how much they shrink in size. Day 79, Plant #2 is on schedule to start flush in 2 days. And I will give her the chop this coming weekend. Going to try a ice flush using frozen water bottles to see if I can help bring out more color. The other plants #1 and #3 are still a two weeks or so away from being chopped. Day 81, started the 3 day flush on Plant #2. And took some more photo shots of her buds and a 360° view video. Day 84, Plant #2 got the chop. Wet weight, before light trim and removing large stems is 760 grams!!! I will update once they finish drying, and then again once I finish the trim and about to jar them for cure. Plants #1 & #3 are still flowering, probably another week or two before they are ready to be chopped.

Plants 1 & 3 are doing good. #1 is a beast so far. I will probably start flushing plant #3 here soon, she got stunted and I don’t think she’s really packing on weight anymore. So part of plant #2 was dry enough for jars after 5 days. Dry trimmed about an 38g. Still have about 2-3x as much left to trim. I think I’ll wet trim the other two it seems way harder to dry trim. I’ll have a total dry weight for plant #2 tomorrow.

Day 91, plants #1&3 are still maturing and not ready to be chopped. They are definitely running longer than I expected. I have plant #2 in jars and curing already. Total dry weight for her was 98g or 3.5oz!!! Definitely more than I was expecting. I was hoping for 1.5oz so I’m definitely a happy guy about that!!! Update #2: upon further investigating, looks like I’m going to start flushing the last 2 plants in a couple days when they go through all their current nutrients. They’re about ready to come down. I harvested last two plants on day 98. Currently drying. I will update with final weight in a couple days.

This was a fun little grow. I ran into numerous issues with these plants but still ended up pulling a great harvest considering these were autoflowers. Definitely learned a lot this round and I will be taking that knowledge and reapplying it to future grows. I’ll only get better from here. This was pretty much my first grow ever. The nugs didn’t come out “as dense” as I was hoping for, but none the less these buds look pretty freaking good. I got quite a bit of smoke for the next few months. Should definitely last me until next harvest. I was hoping for 1-1.5oz off each plant, and well I far exceeded those goals so I’m a happy man!!!
