- PM (powdery mildew) STRIKES!
- Pretty much the final week and this little problem pops up
- After a small battle I was able to keep the PM at bay during this final week by wiping the leaves with a wet paper towel and it's pretty much worked!
- I very carefully wiped every single fan leaf and it would go away and then show up on a few fan leaves 2 days later but in very small patches
- I would also very carefully remove a few of the more covered leaves so as not to shake it and distribute any PM spores throughout the tent
- By week's end I haven't seen anymore of it pop up
- First time dealing with this issue so this is both good and bad.. I at least know what to do if I encounter this in the future and now have experience with it
- Plants fed with plain PH'd water as a continuation of the flushing process
- Watered in some Florakleen two days in a row midweek
- Not sure why I did this and probably unnecessary but I had it there so I wanted to use it and why not.. it'll help break down the salts and I still have enough time to flush it all out anyway
- Trichomes on GDP1 are like 60% cloudy, 20% clear with amber and 20% clear
- Trichomes on GDP2 are like 80% clear and 5% clear amber and 5% cloudy
- This is the tricky part for me.. On the one hand I don't want everything to degrade but on the other hand I really want to hold out for 80% cloudy and 20% cloudy amber trichomes
- As of writing this they are on currently day 65 of Flower (wk 10) so I will be watching them closely
- Super tempted to let them go 70 days but will keep an eye out
- GDP2 is definitely going longer than GDP1 so GDP1 will probably get the chop a few days before #2
Do you notice any difference with your 11 hours on light cycle or does it all seem about the same? Looks so amazing and I cant wait to see more in the future! Happy growing cheers!
@HAPPY91, I honestly couldn't tell you with certainty that there is a difference until I take clones and run the same plants with the same set up and everything under 12/12.. Planning on doing that at some point. The plants are looking nice though so I'm not sure if I could attribute that to the light cycle or not.
Amazing yield and super frosty looking buds Tony. Sorry you didn't get that flavor and correct genetics that you were hoping to get. Always great checking your grows. Can't wait to see what your bringing up next. Good luck stay safe happy growing cheers!!!!! Thanks for the notes about flowering stage since i'm there now to.
Looking amazing ! Browsing through so many diaries and really enjoy checking your out. Been using some of your tips and tricks thanks. Happy growing Cheers!
@HAPPY91, hey and thanks for the kind words. Still learning a lot! Hoping to get into organic super soil next and then maybe some kind of aquaponics set up down the line. Either way I appreciate the love!
@Dean1, I don't have much experience with this particular strain but I would say they are naturally shorter plants. That being said I would say for sure I've done something to stunt them a little, especially the second pheno. She was always a slow grower from the time I popped the seeds and was always just a little behind and smaller. I also think that main lining in these pots was a mistake due to the fact that they are taller and more narrow than the fabric pots and didn't give the plants enough room to expand horizontally. If I grow this strain out again I would try to spread the branches out more so the colas could expand or just let it grow naturally and top maybe once, if that.
@Bushbaby808, Haha thanks mate! I originally wanted to use a trellis net but I don't think it would be wise since I am manifolding the plants.. Next time I grow I'll top once or twice and let them grow into the net.
Honestly, I think mainline has served you well, I donโt cut any leaves off from start to finish but I do try to remove lower bud sites 2-3 weeks after flip as plants tend to make more flowering sites than they can support ๐ really, beautiful plants, you should be proud ๐
