Hello Diary. I am very happy that we are starting again. I’m going back to Automatics again. Many thanks to Royal Queen Seeds for sending me two of their new strains, Green Gelato Automatic and HulkBerry Automatic. So this is the first of two new diaries. WHY GREEN GELATO AUTOMATIC? Green Gelato Automatic is the autoflowering version of a legendary cannabis variety. The original strain is the lovechild of Thin Mint Cookies and Sunset Sherbet. It's one of the most aromatic strains available and produces monstrous levels of THC. Green Gelato Automatic contains both sativa and indica genetics. Her effects can be felt in the body and mind simultaneously. In fact, with a THC content of 24%, she's one of the most potent autoflowering strains you can find. She sends the mind into overdrive and makes a perfect smoke when writing, painting, or doing anything creative. The strain also boasts medicinal properties, taking the edge off pain, elevating mood, and raising appetite. LET'S START FIRST WITH THE FARM SET-UP: Box - Secret Jardin DS120W 120x60x178 Lights - MIGRO 200+ Ventilation - Blauberg Turbo - E 100 Fan - Oscillating Koala Fan Humidifier - Beurer LB 45 Soil - BIOBIZZ Light - Mix Pot - 11L Fabric Pot from RQS Seed - Royal Queen Seed Nutrition - BioBizz and RQS Organic nutrition I apologize in advance for the detailed documentation, or the large number of photos, but I enjoy it, and I think it will help others around tracking their plants. LET THE DIARY START OFFICIALLY: 10/06/2020. planting. I have prepared everything I need for planting. The 11lit fabric pot I got from RQS, also Organic Boost Nutrition and Mycorrhizza from RQS, Soil is Light-Mix from BioBizz and of course the seed of the new strain Green Gelato Automatic. After adding 50g of pellets from Organic Nutrition and 5g of Mycorrhizze, I mixed everything well in the pot. After that I watered well and soaked the soil, I dug a hole with a wooden stick about 2-3 cm, I first put 1g of mycorrhize and then put the seeds inside. I lightly covered the hole with earth and put the pot in his new home. The temperature was about 25 degrees and the humidity about 65%. 14/06/2020. She sprouted. After 4 days, Green Gelato came out. In the meantime, I sprayed the surface of the earth a little twice. The temperature is still around 26 degrees, thanks to the summer and the high temperature that enters the apartment anyway. I regulate the humidity with a humidifier, I maintain it around 60% -65%. 15/06/2020. Her first photo shoot, I also watered her with about 2 liters of water, which I only regulated p.H. at 6.3 with Plagron, Lemon Kick. 19/06/2020. Day 1. Green Gelato is officially one day old. On that occasion I took another photo shoot to celebrate this big day :). 24/06/2020. First Feeding First feeding. She got a whole meal from BioBizz, Root-Juice, Bio-Heaven and Acti-Vera, p.H of water I regulated with Lemon Kick from Plagron. 25/06/2020. Day 7. End of the first week. For now, everything is great. It is developing nicely, its conditions are almost perfect. Green Gelato will also have two roommates in the box, HulkBerry Automatic. Green Gelato - Day 7. - 10 cm I think that’s all for this week, I’m happy that it’s starting all over again, following its development and looking forward to what’s to come. See you next week.

Hello Diary. The second week of vegetation and Green Gelato is progressing wonderfully. 👌 It reached a height of 16 cm and the plant looks happy and healthy. The temperature is slightly higher in the middle of the day when the outside temperature is also high. Sometimes it reaches 28 degrees 😎, but luckily summer is not in full swing so temperatures are acceptable. In my case, the outside temperature also affects the temperature in the box since I don’t use air conditioning for cooling. The box is located in a smaller room without windows, the temperature is not too high. I regulate the humidity with a humidifier, and it varies between 55-65%. 💪 The plant develops more in width than in height, which is the opposite of its roommates in the box, the Hulkberry. Starting this week, I started adding Fish-Mix from BioBizz. So this week they will get Fish-Mix, Acti-Vera and Bio-Heaven, 2ml / lit each. Let's take a look at the activities this week: 28/06/2020. Day 10. Watering. As I wrote earlier, the food for this week is Fish-Mix, Acti-Vera and Bio-Heaven, 2ml / lit each. P. H. I regulate with Plagron’s Lemon Kick. 02/07/2020. Day 14. Photographing, watering and measuring height. As for watering, the procedure is the same as 4 days earlier. All in all, everything is going well for now, Green Gelato and Hulkberry have almost ideal conditions and I hope that I will continue to do so. See you next week.😀

Hello Diary! The third week of vegetation and Green Gelato enters the pre-flowering phase 💪. It can already be seen that she lags far behind her Hulkberry roommates in terms of height, so I will have to lift her closer to the light soon😬. Due to the high summer temperatures, the temperature in the box is also high😓. As I mentioned earlier, my small farm is located in a small room in the kitchen so it’s hard for me to keep the heat out of the space. But given the LED light, great MIGRO, that doesn’t produce too much heat, everything is still within acceptable limits😀. Humidity is also good, given the third (last) week of vegetation and ranges around 55-60%. The distance between the branches is also significantly smaller than in the Hulkberries, so the branches are much denser and with much more leaves. Green Gelato develops more in width than in height. Due to the higher temperature, she didn't drink as much water as I expected. I don’t have some default watering schedule, I give them water when I see the pot is lighter and the surface is dry. All in all I am very pleased with how it is progressing, the plant looks satisfied and healthy. I still add Cal / Mag preventively at each watering, 1.5 ml / L. Also in the third week of vegetation she showed her gender. 06/07/2020. Day 18. Watering. I prepare 7-8 liters of water, I think this is the optimal amount for watering all three plants in the box. I added BioBizz as scheduled for the last week of vegetation, Bio-Heaven, Fish-Mix and Acti-Vera 2ml / L each. P. H. I regulate with Plagron, Lemon Kick. 09/07/2020. Day 21. Photographing and measuring plant height. After taking regular photos in the box, I take a few more photos on a black background. Vegetation is over, starting tomorrow I will change the light regime to 20 hours of light and 4 hours of darkness. Given the temperatures, I will put it dark in the middle of the day when the outside temperature is also the highest, I hope that in this way I will prevent the temperature from rising to an undesirable height. That’s all for this week, see you soon 🙌.

Hello Diary. The first week of flowering is behind us. The Green Gelato Automatic has reached 41 cm, and is now twice lower than its Hulkberry roommates. Due to the height of the Hulkberries, I had to attach the lights to the very top of the box, the height of the box is 178 cm and to maintain a distance of 35 cm from the plants, I had to do so. 😟 Unfortunately, now the Green Gelato is 50cm away from the light, although I picked up the whole pot, the distance is still too far than it should be. Earlier in the week, I changed the light regime to 20/4, four hours of sleep from the start of flowering. I started giving BioBizz full range for the first week of flowering. She started drinking more water, so I watered more this week than before. Compared to Hulkberry roommates, Gelato grows much lower with much denser branches and more leaves. He did not lengthen in height like them. I started adding Cal-Mag, preventively, since I had a shortage of Cal-Mag with Somango and Royal Haze before. The temperature is higher than I want, around 27-28 degrees, but it’s summer, it could be a lot worse. That’s the advantage of Led lights, and the Migro was a great choice. Humidity in the air is about 50-55%, which is currently good.😀 The tips of the upper leaves are intensely yellow, I sincerely hope it’s a little stress due to the heat, or is it something else, we’ll see. Otherwise the plant look satisfied, there are no major signs that it is missing anything. The only watering is difficult due to the density of the branches and the light does not reach the lowest flowers, but I plan a small defoliation next week. 10/07/2020 - Day 22. I changed the light regime to twenty hours of light and four hours of sleep. It was also watering day. She got the full range of BioBizz for the first week of flowering. I prepare 9 liters of water each time in which I put BioBizz, p.H. I regulate with Plagron’s, Lemon Kick and as of this week I’ve started adding Cal Mag preventively. With that amount of water, I water all three plants evenly. 12/07/2020 - Day 24. Watering. The procedure is the same as the previous times. This time I also filmed the way I do it. 15/07/2020 - Day 27. Watering. Same 9 liters as before, with full BioBizz and preventive Cal-Mag. 16/07/2020 - Day 28. Photography and filming. Green Gelato Automatic - Day 28. - 41cm That’s it for this week, I hope it will still be all right :). See you next week.

Hello Diary. The second week of flowering is behind me. I did a little defoliation this week, I honestly didn’t dare remove more leaves and branches, I didn’t know how they would react to it. Maybe I needed more? The temperature is still high, sometimes rising to 29, 30 degrees, but mostly around 28. Humidity in the air is an average of about 55% but sometimes rises to 60%. The problem is frequent rains this summer which creates high humidity in the air and this affects the humidity in the box as well. But plants tolerate these conditions very well. The flowers are developing nicely, and they have started to smell as well, but let the pictures speak for themselves. Green Gelato is twice as small compared to her roommates, but there is still a big crowd in the box. Gelato grew with very dense branches and spread more than it grew in height. The 120 x 60 box size is perhaps too small for three plants (two Hulkberries and one Green Gelato), so the real jungle is in the box. Due to the height of the Hulkberry in the box, and the spreading branches, it has become difficult to take them out every week for photography, but I am extremely careful with them. The Green Gelato has grown to 48 cm and does not look like it will grow much in height. Probably due to the excessive distance from the light, which I had to raise because of the Hulkberry which reached a height of 1m. 18/07/2020. - Day 30. Defoliation. I removed the leaves at the very bottom of the plant to make it easier for me to water them, after that I watered the plants but this time I didn’t put BioBizz, I just watered them with clean water. 21/07/2020. - Day 33. Watering. This time I gave them BioBizz, on schedule for the second week of flowering. I also added CalMag 1.5ml / L, preventively. While they don’t show they’re missing anything, I’ll keep adding CalMag. 23/07/2020. - Day 35. Photography and height measurement. Green Gelato Auto - Day 35. - 48cm That’s all for this week, see you soon.

Hello Diary. The third week of flowering and the sixth week in total is behind us. The Green Gelato Auto, although the smallest on the farm, looks the strongest. Compared to Hulkberry roommates who have grown tall with a large distance between branches, Green Gelato has dense foliage and dense branches. Although I did a little defoliation last week, I mostly removed the lower leaves and twigs, maybe I needed to clean the inside more as well. 😏 The small Green Gelato grows great, the upper flowers fill nicely, are fuller and harder than the Hulkberry, although in the middle it is in a small shade from the large Hulkberries and the light is farther away than it should be for that type of light. Migro recommends a distance of 35 cm which is in my case with Gelata and 50-55 cm distance. I hope it doesn’t affect him too much. 😟 This week, Gelato has grown only a few inches which means it is almost done with height growth, now it remains to develop flowers. What is a little worrying is the humidity in the air which is higher than I would like, I put two circular fans and a large exhaust fan I put on maximum but all the same the humidity does not drop. The temperature is also high in the box, hovering around 28 degrees but sometimes rising up to 29 degrees, even a little higher but the plants are genetically predisposed to a warmer climate so hopefully by the end everything will be fine. Although I have already mentioned this, my farm is in a small room in the apartment, and the weather conditions outside also affect the conditions in that small room. Given this hot summer and heavy rains, it’s no wonder the climate in the box. Let’s take a look at what this week looked like. 24/07/2020 - Day 36. Watering. This time I only added CalMag from GHE, I didn’t add BioBizz harn. I still regulated the water at p.H 6.5 with Plagron’s, Lemon Kick. Each time I prepare 7 lit. water and with that I water all three plants evenly. 28/07/2020 - Day 40. Watering. In 7 lit. water I added BioBizz and adjusted p.H to 6.5. As for BioBizz, I’ve added the entire palette scheduled for Week 6. 30/07/2020 - Day 42. Photography and Watering. Given the height, it’s hard for me now to take the plants out of the box to take satisfying photos, so I didn’t paint them on a black background this week. After the photo shoot, I watered the plants with the addition of BioBizz. Green Gelato Automatic - Day 42. - 50 cm That's all for this week. See you soon. 🙌

Hello Diary. The fourth week of flowering is behind us, Green Gelato looks wonderful. It has reached 50 cm and I think it will no longer grow in height, but as seen in the photos, it looks more like a bush. 😬 The flowers fill nicely, especially the main cola. The lower branches are not as full and firm as those on the upper branches. That was to be expected, given that the lights are farther away than they should be, I’m super pleased. 😎 As I wrote earlier, the reason for the distance of the light is because of her roommates, the Hulkberries who grew twice as tall, and I had to raise the lights as high as I could because of them. I lifted the Gelato a bit with the help of a kitchen pot, but the distance is still about 50cm which is more than the recommended 35cm as suggested by Migro. 👌 The humidity is still higher than desired, but I put two dehumidifiers in the form of some gel that gradually reduce the humidity in the air. We'll see if it helps, I don't see much difference for now. The temperature is also high, hovering around 28 degrees although it sometimes rises to 29, even a little more than that. But in the description of plants, they are genetically adapted to a warmer climate, so these conditions may suit them. Let’s take a look at what this week looked like. 02/08/2020 - Day 45. Watering. This time I watered only with water, I did not add BioBizz food. I still regulated the water at p.H 6.5 with Plagron’s, Lemon Kick. Each time I prepare 7 lit. water and with that I water all three plants evenly. 06/08/2020 - Day 49. Photographing and watering. I added BioBizz on schedule for week 7. In 7 lit. water I added BioBizz and adjusted p.H to 6.5. That's all for this week. I think Green Gelato will need a little longer than Hulkberry, so she may be left alone on the farm next week, but we’ll see. See you next week.

Hello Diary. Fifth week of flowering. Green Gelato Auto looks wonderful. The main cola is huge. The flowers are filled and hard, covered with trichomes and the smell is amazing. 😋 At the beginning of the week I did a defoliation, given the increased humidity and temperature, I wanted to ensure better air flow around the plants themselves. I did the same with her roommates the Hulkberries who are in their final days. 😀 Green Gelato will still need a week longer for sure. But I follow the development of the trichome under a microscope so we will see when it will be ready for harvest. 😀 I stopped adding BioBizz, from this week I water the plants with clean water in which I still lower the p.H. value at about 6.3. Let’s take a look at the review of the week. 09/08/2020 - Day 52. Watering. This time I watered only with water, I did not add BioBizz. I still regulated the water at p.H 6.5 with Plagron’s, Lemon Kick. Each time I prepare 7 lit. water and with that I water all three plants evenly. 10/08/2020 - Day 53. Defoliation. I removed the larger leaves from the plant. 12/08/2020 - Day 55. Watering. Just water. 13/08/2020 - Day 56. Photographing the end of week 8. We are slowly approaching the last weeks of the cycle, I am really looking forward to it. See you soon.

Hello Diary. We have reached the finals. A few more days and the Green Gelato Auto will be ready for harvest. 😍 During this week, his Hulkberry roommates had a harvest so she was left alone on the farm. The first thing I did after harvesting the Hulkberry was to lower the light to the recommended 35cm of the plant. Since the lights of the last few weeks have been tailored to the Hulkberries, these last days everything has been tailored just for her. 😌 The flowers are large and full, especially the maincola, the smell is also intense, but the condition can be well seen from the photos. When watering, I adjust only the p.H. at 6.3, as early as last week I stopped adding fertilizer to the water. Let’s take a look at what this week looked like. 14/08/2020 - Day 57. Watering. Only pure water with regulated p.H. 6.3. 16/08/2020 - Day 59. The Hulkberry Harvest. 17/08/2020 - Day 60. Watering. Same procedure as three days earlier. 20/08/2020 - Day 63. Photography and end of week 9. Looking through a microscope, I think a few more days and she will be ready to harvest. See you soon.

Hello Diary. We have come to the end of this story, Green Gelato Auto has a harvest after 72 days since it sprouted. 😍 The fourth day of the tenth week was ready for harvest, I watched under a microscope when the right moment would be, and when I noticed the appearance of brown trichomes, it was time to harvest.😎 After photographing the look and condition of the plant on the day of harvest, I removed all the larger leaves and photographed again :).😁 This was followed by cutting the plant at the very bottom of the stalk and I hung it upside down in the Box, photographed it, turned off the lights and left it to dry. As you can see in the pictures, the flowers are nicely filled, especially the maincola which looks wonderful. We will see after drying what the outcome will be. 🙏 The scent is more intense than with the Hulkberry, and I already know I would love to repeat this strain. 😀 Week view: 21/08/2020 - Day - 64. Watering. I gave her only 1.5 liters of water, I didn't want to soak her since I expect to harvest in a few days. 24/08/2020 - Day - 67. Harvest. Before cutting the plant itself, I removed all the larger leaves from the plant and put it upside down to dry in the Box. Now we’ll see how long it takes to dry, I estimate about 14 days. See you at the final report and I can’t wait to taste it. 🙌

Green Gelato Automatic is definitely one of the best strains I have grown so far. 😍 It has that sweet earthy taste, and it has a high percentage of THC, up to 24%, and already after one joint I’m pretty high. 😎 Main cola is huge, its dried flower alone is a little over 7g. and she produces massive dense flowers full of resin. It was really easy to grow, it grew about 50 cm in height and eventually gave 50 g of pure sweets. The effect is really great, it starts with a relaxing effect that slowly grows into a creative boost, which is a great feeling to do different activities or engage in some creative work. As I said at the beginning, for now one of my favorites and I recommend it to everyone, both beginners and experienced growers. 😃 I will definitely repeat this strain in the near future.

Hello Diary. At the end of this trip I can say that Green Gelato Automatic is one of my favorite strains I have grown so far. Wonderful smell and taste, when I open the jar, the smell literally floods the whole space. 😋 But here’s a brief summary of the whole grow. The whole cycle was without problems, the vegetation lasted 3 weeks after which it started to bloom. There I changed the light mode to 20/4. Since her roommates were growing much faster than her, I had to raise the light more than recommended, but in the end it seemed to be acceptable to her. I fed her with organic BioBizz fertilizers and she was getting food according to BioBizz’s schedule. Sometimes I would skip fertilizing since it is Automatic and there is still plenty of food in the soil from Easy Boost Organic from RQS. Watering was on average every 3-4 days when she received an average of 2 liters of water. During the cycle, I did not do any training, I like the plants to grow as genetically determined, I only did two small defoliations, in the 5th and 10th week. After a total of 72 days since it sprouted, it was harvest time. After cutting the plant, I hung it upside down in a Box where it dried for 14 days. This was followed by trimming and placing in jars, where the dried flowers matured for another three weeks. 😋 And finally the tasting :). Great strain for both daytime and evening use when relaxing with a good movie or talking to friends or wife. Throughout the diary there really are a lot of photos that speak better than my words. I hope it will help future growers who decide to grow this great strain. 🙌 Many thanks to James of Royal Queen Seed for the seeds and support, thanks to grow diaries on a great learning and sharing platform and many thanks to all of you who read these lines of text. See you soon with some new journeys.
