For anyone stopping by and taking a look at my diary, thanks! This is my first grow so I'm really excited to see how it'll go. Germinating went well. I put both seeds in a glas of water for 18 hours, then I covered them in kitchen paper and put those papers into a zip lock bag, watering them. Popped after 2 days and were big enough to plant after around 4 days. The right one showed up after one day of being planted and the left one took approx. a day longer. I've been feeding them about every two days with around 1.5 liters of water. Only on the second watering did I add 3 ml to the 3 liters I was watering them with. Unrelated to the plants growth, I've set up a camera to take a picture every 5 minutes, hopefully I'll have a nice timelapse at the end of my first grow. Additionally, I played around a lot with different sensors this week. I found an app called "Sensate Sense", you can check out their website sensate.io for additional information. They produce an easy to setup firmware, so you can access your sensors from anywhere, whenever you want. I've set up 2 sensors so far. One inside the tent, which checks Humidity, Temperature and Air Pressure and notifies me, if either Humidity or Temperature drop to low or rise too much. I also placed a sensor outside of the tent to measure Air Pressure and Temperature so I can see how the outside Temperature may be affecting the Temperature inside the tent. I will probably try and get two Capacitive Moisture sensors into my two pots. I already have them, I just need some additional parts to get them built. They'll be battery powered and simply plugged into the soil.

22/07/2020 Start of the week and there's some good growth to see. The plants are looking fine, but I've spotted a few small flies, hovering around the soil. According to the internet they're fungus gnats. I was also able to spot some ants. I'm certain the few ants won't be a problem, but in order to deal with the fungus gnats, I've started treating them by delaying another watering to let the soil dry out a bit. Tomorrow I'll go and get some Neem Oil or something similar to treat the top of the soil. 23/07/2020 It's been 3 days since I've last watered them. Back then they received each about 1.5 liters of water with 1ml power roots per liter. The left plants soil is starting to dry out, although only the very top. Directly beneath the soil is still wet. The right plants soil is still fairly moist. I'll be looking to use some Neem oil today hopefully, if I can get my hands on some. I'm a bit uncertain when I should start watering again. I don't want the fungus gnats to have a nice environement, but I also don't want my plants to dehydrate. 24/07/2020 I've put up a bowl of vinegar with some dish soap in it. I also put up these small little adhesive.. ..things, which I don't know the proper english name of. At the end of the day, I watered each plant just a bit (ca. 0.5 liters per plant), since the soil was really dry already. And switched the adhesive stripes, since the first two already had quite some fungus gnats on them. Also, I made the complete rookie mistake by ripping off a bit of one of the leaves while trying to stick the adhesive stickers into the soil. The plant has been recovering pretty great from that though. 25/07/2020 They're looking even better now. Not many fungus gnats in the vinegar/on the stickers, but they've definitely been getting less. The plants are still looking mighty fine :) 27/07/2020 I let them be for quite a while. Haven't watered them too. Even though the top layer of soil is dry, I noticed by digging my finger in the soil that beneath it's still pretty damp. I'm gonna keep on not watering them until I notice the leaves drooping.

I'm currently having trouble with fungus gnats. Should I use "Neem Oil" to fight the infestation? And is there any alternativ similar to "Neem Oil" that is available in Europe? Also, when should I start watering my plants again? (3 days since last watering)

Yellow sticky strip and I get the vacuum down near the medium and stir up the dirt, get um flying and suck um up, they get caught in the suction very easy. That gets alot the sticky traps keep um in check. Cheers

30/07/2020: Haven't watered them in a week, and the fungus gnats have been getting more again. The plants are still staying strong as ever though, so I'm not too worried. I'll continue to watch closely over them to make sure they won't die through dehydration 02/08/2020: I've bought some sensors online which can be planted into the soil and don't need any kind of electricity. They read out humidity and ph values of the soil quite well, so now I know the ph values as well! Currently, the sensors still pick up some slight humidity in the soil, so I'll keep waiting until I notice some apparent changes before watering again. I'm quite amazed at how strong they still are, even though they haven't been watered in forever. 04/08/2020: I finally watered them today. Some of the leaves already started to slightly droop down. I've watered both plants with about 0.5 liters each and added 1ml/L of Plagron power roots to the water. Temperature of the water was approx. 20°C. There are still some fungus gnats here, and I don't really know how to get rid of them completely. A few of them shouldn't hurt the plants too much, although I'll still be putting up stickers, vinegar and letting the soil dry out as much as possible before watering to keep them at a bare minimum

05/08/2020: First day of the week and only now I noticed the weird growth the left plant's been having. I always thought it was just a different ceno-type that led to the plant being a bit smaller, but upon further inspection I noticed the plant didn't grow straight up but rather in a weird curly way. It's not as tall, healthy and thriving looking as the other plant. The fungus gnats have been getting less though, and at least from the right plant I've seen some really explosive growth. After I watered them yesterday she went from 7cm height to 11cm in just one day! I also started doing some slight LST on the right plant, since she looks like she's ready for it. In order to help the left plant with her growth a bit, I started doing LST on her as well but started all the way from the bottom to bend her into a better shape. 06/08/2020: The left plant looks like it's adjusting to it's new position and looks way better than yesterday. The right plant has already started growing a second node. I watered them with about 0.5 liters each today, adding (probably a bit too much) power roots by plagron. I probably used 2ml instead of 1 accidentally, but I think it should be fine still. There are a few leaves that are hanging a bit low which is worrying me, and I'm not sure if I watered too much again or not enough. I'll check how the plants are affected by the last watering and decide later if I should water them soon again. 07/08/2020: Bent the left plant more to perform some actual LST on her as well. Right plant is still growing mighty fine 08/08/2020: Watered the plants some more with again 0.5 liters each. Did not use any nutes though and just gave them water. I wanna try and see if the discoloring of the leaf comes from too many/not enough nutes 09/08/2020: Performed some more LST on both plants. The left one is quite a bit behind, so I'm currently trying to get her to catch up. 10/08/2020: Watered them again today with about 0.5 liters each and also did a bit more LST on the right plant

Wow never seen that happen by itself. Good thing it won’t cause any major issues. If it’s not flexible then leave it for now and when she grows Bury it under your medium for more support. If it is flexible straighten it up and support it with a stick and you will be fine .

Noticed this slight change in color on one of the leaves, what could be the reason for this, and how do I treat it? It has only appeared on one leaf so far. Also, what is the correct name for this color? Is it "burnt" or just yellow or something else? Cheers!

Yeah it is burnt, but just slightly, i would say keep up the regimen but give it a little space inbetween feedings with just water so she can use those nutes and you can wash the soil with that inbetween waterings. Overall, your plant looks perfect mate. Keep up the good work, and if you don't mind me asking, can you please at some point chose my answer as the answer? Its for a contest in wich i will win a tshirt if i get top3. Thanks growmie. Best of luck on ur grow

12/08/2020: First day of the week, I gave the right plant 0.5 liters of pure water, but since the growth of the left one has been so slow, I gave her 0.5 liters with 4ml/L of plagrons alga grow. I'm hoping that will help with the slow growth. 17/08/2020: Started with ScrOG even though only one plant is ready for it. I've given up hopes that the smaller one will catch up and I'm expecting a second, delayed harvest. Also started giving the bigger plant plagron alga bloom.

By flipping through your dairy and those are my suggestions: 1. Your plant is doing fine. Any signs of pistil? Just give it a couple more weeks or give it a 24H dark cycle to initiate flowering if you want to. I see you have another plant that uses the same setting and is doing fine, so I feel you just got a slow runner and it will eventually catch up later. 3. But you want to control the "N" value in your nutrient. The "Alga Grow" that you are using is a grow booster that contains lots of N. I will gradually switch to Alga Boost which will promote flower growth. Be careful with the N toxicity and it will significantly reduce the production of your flower if you don't control. I had the same issue. 2. You will be expecting a 2-weeks stretch period when flipping to flower and the size of the plant usually doubled. So it is nice to maintain a low canopy as you did. I hope it helps!

22/08/2020: Due to some personal problems I didn't have time and motivation to update the diary. Sorry about that. I've kinda just been watching em grow, giving the bigger one 0.75 liters of water with about 3-4ml of alga bloom and been also doing some more LST on the smaller one and giving her 0.5 liters with about 2ml of alga grow in hopes of her catching up anytime soon, but I doubt it.

30/08/2020: I've been watering them ever 2-3 days, as soon as their leafs start to droop down. The bigger one I've only been watering currently with about 0.75 liters, which at least seems to halt the discoloration of the leafs. The smaller one I've been feeding with 0.5 liters of water combined with 4ml/L of alga grow which has been helping the plant quite a bit with it's growth. 04/09/2020: Both plants' lower leafs have started to droop down more, and some have already died of. I'm pretty sure they have a Nitrogen Deficiency, but I have no idea how to fix it. The highest concentration of Nitrogen I have is about 4.4%, which apparently is not high enough. I've tried giving them 4ml/L of Bio Flores, but that didn't seem to help

My leaves have been turning yellow/pale and slowly dying off. A few leaves have already died and it's moving up the plant slowly but surely. I'm guessing it's a (N)itrogen deficiency, but don't know how to solve it.

Hey there Minou, actually it's lockout basically there's too much N . you can see this based on the "too green" aspect of the leafs, that's basically what happens when there's too much N : the leaves can become a bit shiny or too green, then you find signs of deficiency even though you're feeding. So you need to maybe even stop feeding altogether for one week or so then start feeding again but at half of the dose you're currently giving which is much too high. Hope this helps ! 🚀

16/09/2020: It seems like the plants have almost completely recovered from the nute lock. I'll be starting to feed them again with 2ml/L of biocanna flores when I'll be watering them again in 2-3 days. Also my camera lens clip on for my phone arrived today, so I now have some detailed shots of the buds. Enjoy! 18/09/2020: I watered both plants with about 500ml of Water mixed with 2mg/ml of Bio Flores. They're looking better now, and it seems like the plant is regaining health 20/09/2020: The leaves were drooping down a lot in the morning and some have been turning yellow again. I'm not sure if they still don't have enough nutes, but I'm afraid of nutelocking them again, so I gave them 500ml water with no nutes each. If they'll still die off, I'll give them 2ml/L of Bio Flores again

23/09/2020: Start of the week, the plants are looking good so far. They're still losing leafs, but I've heard from multiple sources that nitrogen deficiencies are usual during the late flowering stage. However, a few leaves directly at the bud have started turning yellow and I'm afraid it might be bud mold/rot. I can't see anything other than the yellow leafs though so I hope they'll be fine. 26/09/2020: The grow is coming to an end. The left plant is more or less ready for harvesting. I'm gonna chop her up at the start of next week (30/09) since I've given some more nutrients in the last few days and I want to make sure they're washed out before harvesting. I'm having great plans for my next grow already and I can't wait to apply everything I learned during my first grow and hopefully make a lot less mistakes!

Bud rot normally happens when you have really dense buds and high humidity, 40-50% isn't bad for flower so I would say no, you shouldn't have any worries about bud rot. Hopefully, I answered your question and remember Happy Growing and Free your mind one puff at a time.

Starting this grow accidentally got me into a new hobby - gardening! I had a ton of fun growing those plants, and harvesting them just felt really rewarding. There were a few problems I encountered during my grow (fungus gnats, over-watering, nute-lock...) but all in all, I'm very happy how this grow turned out!
