Ok, so I've got 12 weeks until vacation and I couldn't resist popping this little gem.
Hopefully she'll be ready to harvest just before I go away for a week and nicely dried when I come back.
After that I'll be running a few photos so best to get her done first.
She's in tap water, not pH balanced but water has been left out over night so no chlorine present.
Going to resist the urge to top her but no promises!
She's popped and is sprouting nicely. pH balanced water only for the moment.
Finally got rid of the damn blurple lights.
Hooked up the Mars Hydro TSW2000 and it's next level.
I can take photos without a silly green piece of plastic for a start and all the girls seem very happy in there, even after just 12 hours.
Looks like she's getting a bit leggy but I'm sure she'll settle down.
On first root levels of nutes for now.
Growing really well. Dianfem genetics are top notch.
Handled the transplant without any fuss.
Now being watered on Grow level of nutrients.
Very happy girl she is.
She's been growing like a beast.
Due to the strength of the girl (and the widow I'm also grwoing) I've taken a risk and trimmed and topped her. Mainly because these Dinafem girls are absolute beasts and seem super hardy.
Two days after topping she seems absolutely fine, no sign of stress and she's growing like a monster. Very happy, completely converted to Dinafem.
Keeping up with the LST and she was doing really well and really thirsty.
Unfortunately, I got a bit carried away with the main kola and screwed it. Bent her a bit far and she split right down the main stem. Only about a centimetre, but what a nightmare.
Have taped her up and removed any LST from the damaged areas. Poor little thing.
I'm sure she'll heal up just fine, but as she now in pre flower I really didn't want to cause her any stress. Watch this space to she how she copes!
She's gone into stretch and flowering.
The split stem has done nothing to slow her down: she's like a machine!
Have removed the tape from the split and she's fully healed up, solid as ever. Very hard breed these girls.
Slight panic this week, which turned into a learning experience.
Nearly cut her down as I thought she had hermed. Having only done about 5 grows total (including the ones on here) I thought the swollen calyx was a seed pod.
Thanks to the good people on here we cleared that up. Phew. Would have been such a shame to chop such a hardy beast of a plant.
Anyway, so after narrowly avoiding disaster I'm happy to say she's still growing beautifully and smelling lovely.
Gave her a good defoliation due to my white widow getting a bit of mould.
Spaced out her leaves to create a bit more easy airflow and open up some light to the buds.
She seems very healthy and happy and is my current pride and joy!
Getting close to harvest. Buds are fattening and pistils browning nicely. Not the biggest looking buds but should do the job just fine.
Impressed how it handled high stress training for an auto. Looking forward to harvest.
Very happy with this girl.
Buds are fattening up nicely and covered in sticky goodness. Never grown such fat looking buds before - the photos don't do her justice.
One or two amber trichomes but was expecting her to be done by now. She's got another week until I have to go away so hopefully she'll be ready for harvest as she will have to come down before I go whatever happens :(
Some of her lower leaves are significantly paler so she's nearly there. Keeping an eye on her every day for that amber trichome coverage.
Have started feeding her pH balanced water only as of day 74 to reduce some of the nutes buildup in the cocoa. Very tempted to take off a bit of bud to do an early test.
Was going to harvest today as I have to go away for a week and there's nobody available to look after my girls.
But, they're simply not ready yet. Lots of white pistils and not many amber trichomes. I've hooked up a timer and my irrigation system which should keep them watered while I'm away.
Not going to see them for a whole week but they should be done by the time I'm back.
Fingers crossed!
Leaves are now fading as she's being watered with just pH balanced water. Feel like a begun this process a bit early but she seemed ready to pop last week. Live and learn.
Very happy with how she's turned out so far though. Totally recovered from the spilt main stem although one side is slightly smaller than the other. Still, great kolas.
Hope she finishes while I'm away, ready for harvest upon my return. See y'all in a week!
So, back from vacation and she's been flushed thoroughly and we've got some crazy beautiful fall colors going on.
She was pretty dry when I got back and some nice amber trichomes were present so chopped her straight away, gave a wet trim and hung her up.
Will put all the dry data up on a harvested page when she cured and tested etc.
Included some pics of the stem which was mainlined (quad lined?sexlined?) which worked amazingly well.
Some of the densest bud I've grown. Not huge buds, but a good size and nice and tight.
A real easy grow this girl. Hope she smokes well and has that calming cbd effect for my wife.
What an awesome plant.
After harvest and cure she seems a little stronger than 5% THC, but not by much. Still, very very chilled smoke due to the high CBD content. Great for the other half who has those nasty little anxiety issues.
Absolute joy to grow. Really resilient even when I snapped the main stem she came back no problem at all.
So I topped and hexlined this girl to get as much out of her as I could and it was my largest harvest by far. Will definitely grow this strain again. Kudos to Dinafem for some bulletproof genetics.
Can't believe how much I got out of one plant: a whopping 168g - just shy of 6oz - dry weight.
Really enjoyed growing this girl. Seeing how hardy she was and the buds getting denser and denser.
The myth that you cannot top autos is well and truly debunked after this.
Dinafem FTW!
@bioaccessory, yeah it's hidden by the leaves. I basically did a hexline on it. took it off above the 3rd side (5th really but I trimmed the first 2 off after topping). Trained the 1st and 2nd 180 degrees to each other then took the 3rd and trained that at a 45 degree angle to the others. Head to week 9, day 62 and you'll see the internal structure really well and nicely developed.
