Nothing like clean equipment. Spent 1/2 a day going over everything, cleaning/disinfecting (Clorox spray cleaner)and rearranging the layout to be more efficient, user friendly and hopefully keep my VPD on point.
Did a complete re-route of my IdealAir 14K BTU A/C running new insulated 6" duct hose, moving the unit into a closet to free up space and installed sheet metal fixtures at the ends where the duct hose enters the tent.
Placed the cold air inlets on the same side of the 4x8, one high/one low. I placed the carbon filter at the opposite side of the 4x8 positioned high to theoretically draw the cold air across the entire tent before exhausting it,

Well here we go! Two breeders and four strains (2 each) in two different Living Soils- Fox Farm Happy Frog w/ Natures Living Soil Auto-flower Concentrate vs. SOHUM Soils living soil. Reset the 4x8, went through and checked and cleaned all equipment ,wiped down/disinfected entire tent.
7/15- Popped 8 beans in eight 16oz. solo's w/2oz. of straight lukewarm water ph'd to 6.5 in each.
7/16- 4 of 8 have already popped, planted all in 10g fabric that evening. Watered in with 2oz water ph'd to 6.3 and covered w/humidity domes. Running just the HLG 650R right now and have it dialed back to 120w at the wall @ 46" from medium. Temp's high 70's to 81 degree's, RH @ 70%.
I'll be using a sprayer to gently keep them moist while they finish germinating.
7/18- Keeping an eye on moisture under humidity domes so that medium doesn't dry out around seeds. Using straight water ph'd to 6.2-6.5. Temp's and RH on point.π
7/19- 7 of eight broke ground... DAY ONE! πͺππStill waiting on a Zkittles from Seedsman to show her stuff. If the last lady doesn't show by this evening I'll pop another bean as I don't want a huge gap in the run. Removed humidity domes from all that sprouted and misted with straight water
ph'd to 6.4
7/21- Running just the HLG 650R @ 225w @30" with air temp @ 78-81, RH @ 55-60%. All eight girl's are up and doing well, even the Zkittles that was a 'no-show' is now looking stronger everyday which is a relief because it must have gotten planted too deep and when I gently moved some
around to check on it, found it all curled up and yellow as hell. I re-positioned it just under the surface and low and behold she's strutting her stuff with her sister's!
7/23- Day 5π; Turned up HLG 650R to 305w @30" air temp's 78-81(turned on A/C unit to maintain temp's at this point, haven't had to up until now), RH @55-60%. Watering/foliar spray via spray bottle once daily with water ph'd to 6.3-6.5 and added 1 tbsp/gallon of Seaweed extract for today's
watering and foliar spray. All doing great and are anywhere from 1.5-3" tall with the 'shorty' being the Seedsman Zkittles that didn't sprout until I dug her out so she's a little behind her sisters but I'm confident she'll catch their butt's quick!
7/25- Day 7, Week 1 behind us now....smooth sailing ahead! Watering the girl's with 8-12oz water ph'd to 6.3-6.5 daily. On Day 4 I did add 1 tbsp/gallon of Seaweed extract to their water and also foliar sprayed them as well. As luck would have it, the Seedsman Zkittles that didn't sprout and I had to dig out is doing well AND the other Zkittles I planted in the same pot as a backup (as I thought the one I dug out might not make it) sprouted! So now I have two Zkittles in one 10g fabric and I think I'm just gonna let em ride and LST the hell out of both and see what happens!
I'm running all 10g fabric pots- Six of them are filled with Fox Farms Happy Frog mixed with Natures Living Soil Autoflower Concentrate, two are filled with SOHUM Living Soil. Every pot's medium ph's @ 6.2-6.8 except one SOHUM which is @ 5.2-5.4! WTH? Don't know how she's alive!
Must be genetics, maybe that strain was breed in hydro for past generations, i have a plant that drinks 7.5 ph water and when i lowered it to 6.3 she started getting sick. Had to go back to 7.5 ph. Smh.
Hi, im getting into growing and use sohum, what does the " 2 1/2g" mean when you say "2 1/2g straight non-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.4". And what type of water do you use, Ro, Tap, Etc.
Thank you any help is greatly appreciated.
@CainHeim, I use well water from the tap which runs around 200ppm and 7.4-7.8 ph before I adjust. The 2 1/2g was referring to how much TOTAL water I gave which was split evenly between my plants. DON'T over water.... biggest 'noob' mistake. Let your plants tell you when they are thirsty and take care of what you can't see (the ROOTS) and the rest will take care of itself! Good luck with your grows and Merry Christmas! ππ
@TheCannaProphet, thanks for the reply. I got fungus gnats in my NLS as well. For whatever reason they all disappeared after my first application of SLF100 even though it's completely unrelated. Not sure how or why but they never came back.
@HashCakes, Thanks for checking out my diary! I had two growing in SOHUM soil and one did excellent, the other had issues. When I checked the ph of the SOHUM with the plant with issues I found that it was @ 5.2....WAY too low. I don't know if it was a bad bag or what but it pissed me off. The NLS plants did really well but using it brought Fungus Gnats, which could have only come from the NLS as I've NEVER had them previously. So now I've gone back to my Ol' Reliable Mother Earth Coco/Perlite with 100% Organic Dry Amendments or Liquid Nutrients depending on the run. Hope this helps you...Grow Strong! ππ
I have the seeds Gelato OG in my Run 2 diary & one of them is a freaking monster!! By far the biggest plant in my tent! Canβt wait to see how yours turns out friend! Happy growing!βοΈπΌπ±
