Our second grow! Germination took about 36 hours using the wet paper towel method. No problems at all. Planted in a 2l pot and will move it up to a 20l later. Looking forward to this one!

The start of week 3! The seedling fell over a few times. It looks pretty stretchy, but I can’t lower the light until another plant finishes in a week or so.

Really happy with my new MarsHydro TS600. The seedling has stopped getting too stretchy and is putting on leaf growth. I also repotted the seedling a bit deeper and started the veg nutrients. ScrOG is ready to go, but I’m still not sure if I’ll top or fim. Anyway, looks healthy even if it’s not going super fast! Day 23 edit: decided on fimming after some good growth overnight. Pictures added. My first time, hope it goes well!

FIMming last week definitely slowed things down, but the plant looks happy and is putting out growth. I’m a little concerned that it’s a bit runty, but we’ll see how it goes. Other than that no problems at all. Hopefully will start LST next week once the lateral growth is a bit stronger.

I normally update at the start of the week, but was away for a few days so am flipping to the end of the week. Anyway! It wasn’t happy to have been left a few days but it’s grown a lot. FIMming really has made a difference—not a ton of vertical growth but a lot of horizontal growth at all points. I trimmed a few leaves and started Scrog (very happy if anyone has tips—my first try). I’ve also got little fruit fly looking things, plus some small grey bugs in the soil. They don’t seem to have harmed the plant but any tips welcome.

Really picking up the pace growth-wise. You all make scrogging look so easy, but it’s been a real learning curve to work out how to move things around without messing them up. In any case the main cola is still dominant but the others are putting on plenty of growth. Anticipating flowering fairly soon. I’ve still got the little grey bugs in the soil and a few fruit fly looking things floating around, but no harm seems to be done to the plant so I won’t mess around too much.

Plenty of growth this week, the scrog has really filled out. I didn't quite manage to break the apical dominance of the main cola as you can see in the pictures, but FIMing definitely helped boost the other colas. I'm hoping such a long vegetative state means this one will go big. The fruit flies seem to have gone away, so all good on that front. Happy to see pistils appearing!

Plenty of good growth this week. Buds are coming along and it's stretching. No fuss or anything. The smell is getting nice: still mostly vegetal, but at this time of year it's great to stick your head in and smell some plants. I defoliated reasonably heavily as well this week, but forgot to take a before/after. The pictures above are from a few days later.

A few leaves have started showing purple spots, some with pale green/whitish bits as well. Picture above. Any help would be great. I’ve been feeding on the BioBizz schedule every second watering, usually every other/every third day.

Hey there GentleWilliam , i have to disagree with MrWeeds here, this looks more like a pH related issue. The symptoms you're seeing like the rust colored speckles and the burnt edges of the leafs as well as the yellowing in general might be caused by a pH that's too high or a pH fluctuation meaning those nutrients would be less well absorbed . My guess is that and a nutrient lock out because you're feeding a lot of nutrients and over time it locked out the plant. Try flushing once by watering until runoff then measuring 20% more water and rinsing the soil well. then start feeding again at the same level but without the fish mix, which raises your pH quite a lot. Hope this helps ! 🚀

So I’m trying to flush and lay off the nutrients this week; my Ph tester doesn’t seem to be working, so I can’t currently tell if that’s what is causing the leaf discoloration. Good growth otherwise, still getting a good amount of vegetal growth as well as pistil and bud development.

The rust spots on the leaves are getting worse. I flushed twice and fed with a bit of extra runoff, but a day later and the curling burnt ends look like nute burn. Any thoughts would be great!

if you flushed and it got worse it means it is not a nue burn. it looks to me like a big nute def. the fisrt 2 pics looks like a heavy potassium deficiency, the third a lack of phosphorus and in all of them i see nitrogen def. in my experience under qbs, like yours mars ts, plants need more k than under hps or cobs. to solve this i would feed her with some bloom fert (like n.p.k. 2.2.4) and a strong pk (like 13/14). but go easy with them the first time and rise a bit every time.

I've been battling with what I now think is a phosphorus deficiency. I've been slowly adding nutes back in to try to deal with it, but it's a slow process and I'm not sure how it's going. I started with Algamic too, but still left out the Fish-Mix. Still, buds are going and starting to see trichs forming. Hoping we start to feel a little better soon!

Well, the struggle continues. I feel like I have a nute lockout and am trying to find a way to fix it. I flushed again this week and added back just flowering nutes with Algamic; that seems to add some green back into the leaves but the ends are still curling. The phosphorus deficiency seems to be stable though, so I guess that’s something. Bud growth is slow and the trichromes are also very slow to form. Any advice very welcome!

Struggling along! The nutrient lockout has proved really hard to manage. The buds are growing, so I’m just hoping I can get this thing to limp across the finish line without too much damage. I’ve flushed and re-fed a few times and that really hurts the deficiency, but focusing on just the biobloom, top max, and Algamic has helped a bit.

I'm not thrilled with how things are going, but they seem to have stabilized a bit! Some of the sugar leaves are a little burned, so hoping that I've stopped the nute lockout before they get worse. Still, new bud growth is going well and it seems happier. Trichromes are really sparse, but they're about 50/50 cloudy/clear. Maybe a few more weeks!

On we go! More bud growth thanks to upped nutes. No amber trichromes yet. The leaves are definitely in autumn mode, but it looks like the nutrient lockout is in the past. Not sure how these buds will taste and planning that there will be a lot of trimming at harvest to get the burnt leaves out, but they're definitely putting on weight. Hoping to harvest soon.

Getting there! Buds fattening up well, even if they're not super frosty (and the burned leaves aren't so pretty). I added a little calmag this week to see if that helps. Very little change on the trichromes, still mostly cloudy with clear ones in the new bud growth areas. I feel like I've been expecting harvest in two weeks for about a month now, but maybe another two weeks? Sativas can make me a bit anxious and paranoid, so I want to wait for a good proportion of amber trichs before chopping.

Still chugging along! Nothing really to report: buds are still fattening up and still no sign of amber trichromes. The buds aren't super dense or frosty and I'm sure I'll need to take forever cutting out the burnt leaves, but still hoping for some tasty bud.

Slowly chugging along! A few scattered amber trichromes, mostly cloudy otherwise but some still clear. My stash is running low so starting to get a bit impatient for harvest: finding it hard not to chop! No big changes otherwise: definitely still putting on weight though. All good!

Well, this one took a while! Harvested on day 134. Flushed for the last week. I could have waited a bit longer: about 5% of trichromes were amber and the rest were cloudy, but it was still putting on weight. But I was impatient and needed room in the tent, so decided to chop. It definitely was a bit fussy with getting the nutrient levels right, and it was a slow grower. Maybe as a result of my nutrient problems it wasn't as sticky or smelly as other folks have got. However, I can't complain about the yield: 233g wet, 83g dry. The buds are pretty dense too, so there was actually very little trim--I didn't bother weighing it since it was so limited. It responded well to FIMing but I think I should have just topped it. It seemed very happy with LST too. Some big (for me!) buds too, and no issues at all with mold or disease. Generally pleased--if it had been a little less nute-fussy, I would give this really high marks. As is, I think it's an 8/10. Final note: thanks to the various folks who commented on this diary, especially those who offered advice! It was really helpful and my grow definitely benefited. I learned a lot and am looking forward to my next grow! I've got three autos from Barney's Farm germinating now (Pineapple Express Auto, LSD Auto, and Malana Bomb Auto) and will get those diaries started once they pop. Thanks all.
