"There are poisons that blind you, and poisons that open your eyes." -- August Strindberg.
Seeds in a water cup then peat pods then 5 gals. Dr. Earth potting soil + some perlite and vermiculite to improve drainage and moisture retention.
I wetted the peat pods with some nice recharge-dosed water to inoculate those tiny roots with beneficial microbes.
I am ridiculously excited to grow these beauties out. They germinated strongly.
Most of the action is taking place in the dirt. Both these girls working out some kinks as they sprout their 2nd and 3rd set of true leaves. Their overall growth is keeping pace with rest of the tent though, so I am not concerned. Very curious to see what's next.
Last day of week 3 I spotted a few preflowers, but otherwise this week has been a veg.
I'm waffling on whether to grow out the mutant any further - she's still struggling to get out a set of normal leaves.
Her sister on the other hand seems to be doing fine--perhaps a little stressed--but overall well and progressing.
Should be interesting to see what happens next.
Devils are showing their beautiful colors already 😍. Brutal heat wave this week was a battle to keep the tent below 90 during midday (even with lights off)! I’m very excited to be growing these purple flowers . . . full disclosure I’ll be losing my purple flower v-card on these 🤣. I hope they’re good to me. I’m feeling optimistic, but the devil’s in the details . . . ..😴😴
[Note due to a mixup -- the pics from this week are actually Dark Devil, from the journal here:
https://growdiaries.com/diaries/73491-sweet-seeds-dark-devil-auto-grow-journal-by-smoke-weed-maintain ]. Sorry for the mixup; that's my fault. Next week will be corrected.
Holy coloration, Batman! They are like little beautiful purple bonsai. I hope they continue to grow. Controlling the heat in the tent continued to be a challenge for me this week. Supposed to cool off next week, Batman willing . . . .
Cooled off a bit this week and my beautiful purple bonsai seemed to appreciate it. Of course, we now have a heat advisory out for this upcoming weekend ¡ay, caramba!
But I’ll do what I can to support continued new growth and flowering and coloring in these beauties . . . oh la la!
I love growing, almost as much as I love smokin' hah, but some weeks (like this one) are just a grind. Some new side-branches may be comin' in, so I'm looking forward to see if that develops further.
Half my blue leds went out on my “little blurple that could” less than a year old. A replacement is on the way from customer service, but in the meantime I got a spider farmer 2000 in there now and it feels like a big upgrade.
Creeping closer and closer to harvest. We appear to be senescing pretty heavy and all new growth has stopped. So I am waiting on amber trichomes, and hoping that the calyxes will swell up a bit before we are ripe and ready to harvest. We shall see!
We chopped around day 84 from seed and are currently drying and curing. Should be ready in another week or two and I'll have a vape report for y'all.
“All things are poisons, for there is nothing without poisonous qualities. It is only the dose which makes a thing poison.”
― Paracelsus
Beautiful color and sweet flavor (perfume and grape were what I noticed) - I was happy vaping this during day and at night. Kind of a mellow and yet uplifting buzz; overall mild. But please look elsewhere if you are looking for a big yielder--these girls were tiny. Probably grower error on my part.. Anyway, I was thrilled to grow this and I'd certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique, colorful strain to try (with the caveat about yields, of course . . . ).
This cycle was a tough one: I made some mistakes, my lights gave out on me mid-grow, and it was very warm in the tent throughout. Despite all this, the red poisons delivered pretty colorful buds which had a unique grapey perfume scent to match. Very unique and cool, just not a big yielder and perhaps a bit finicky with my imperfect growing methods.
