"We are each our own devil, and we make this world our hell.” -- Oscar Wilde
Germinated nicely and off to the races. I am very excited to see where these ladies take us.
Most of the action taking place underground this week. Looking happy and healthy though. Looking forward to the darkness . . . . the dark devilishness . . . . auto 😂😅😴
Last day of week 3 some preflowers spotted, but this week has been a veg.
The devils are picking up momentum, have stretched a bit, and I am excited to see some more.
Brutal heatwave this week, but I managed to keep the tent under 90 👍👍. The Mutant is flowering just as vigorously as any other girl in the tent rn, so we gonna grow her out and see what happens. Her sister is doing well and seems to showing some color in flower as well. Good stuff.
[Note due to mixup -- pictures from this week are actually Red Poison, from the journal here: https://growdiaries.com/diaries/73488-sweet-seeds-red-poison-auto-grow-journal-by-smoke-weed-maintain ] Sorry for the mixup, my b. Next week will be fixed.
Holy coloration, Batman! They are like little beautiful purple bonsai. I hope they continue to grow. Controlling the heat in the tent continued to be a challenge for me this week. Supposed to cool off next week a little, Batman willing . . . .
Cooled off a bit this week and my beautiful purple bonsai seemed to appreciate it. Of course, we now have a heat advisory out for this upcoming weekend ¡ay, caramba!
But I’ll do what I can to support continued new growth and flowering and coloring in these beauties . . . oh la la!
Some weeks are better than others, and this week I am forcing myself to recognize the good and beautiful to keep from fixating on the negative.
The bonsai Devils continue to persist and show their beautiful colors, my challenges with heat and early-stunting notwithstanding.
Half my blue leds went out on my “little blurple that could” less than a year old. I don’t know how long they’ve been out, ugh. A replacement is on the way from customer service, but in the meantime I got a spider farmer 2000 in there now and it feels like a big upgrade.
We are flushing. Getting close to harvest. I'm enjoying the new grow light (upgrade from a 250w blurple to SF2000), although to be candid I am not seeing much response or growth from the plants. Part of that, I think, is they are senescing so I don't think any light would cause growth at this juncture.
The other big mistake I made / noticed this grow---the pots are too big; they hold too much water and I end up overwatering accidentally. Next time I'll gradually step them up, rather than plant directly in final pot.
Onward!
We chopped at day 80. Drying and curing now. Should have a vape / harvest report for you next week. In the meantime here's some end-of-life pics.

I was expecting maybe some purple but WOW these girls delivered on a beautiful spectrum of colors and flavors (a sweet citrus). Very unique and pretty. But please don't buy these looking for a big yielder; these girls were tiny. The small yield was probably due to my amateur growing techniques, but at the same time I know I am reasonably intelligent and skilled, and so I think it bears noting that these ladies need a bit more from the grower to unlock full potential.
This cycle was a tough one: I made some mistakes, my lights gave out on me mid-grow, and it was very warm in the tent throughout. Despite all this, the dark devils delivered nice and compact, colorful buds which had a nice sweet citrus flavor. Very unique and cool, just not a big yielder and perhaps a bit finicky with my imperfect growing methods.
@FreshCoastOrganics, thank you! I'm loving the colors (just not loving the way I've stunted them early) but will try again next run of seeds with some corrections and *fingers crossed* will get that bigger harvest I'd hoped for.
@MrJones, occultgreen420 has the magnet ring on with his Dark Devil Auto grow - I've not considered using magnets before but the idea has me very intrigued.
@Smoke_Weed_Maintain, the ring is an axial neodymium magnet oriented north side up. I believe it helps the plant develop much better and produces bigger specimens with larger yields 👽
Nice grow so far! I am just finishing up a dark devil auto by sweet seeds. My issues have been opposite to yours in that mine were getting cold (just getting into spring now).
If I can lend some advise, a little bit of LST goes a long way. With auto's its as simple as bending the top over. If you check out my grow diary you will see what I mean. Even though mine didn't get big, I definitely believe the LST allowed more bud growth. I love the colours you are getting so early on, mine only showed those later on :)
Happy growing and smoking!
@Smoke_Weed_Maintain, thanks man :) She will hopefully be getting the chop by the end of this week. Only a pleasure. I am still new to this all, but help where I can with what I have learnt so far. I know some people like to tie a tie on the lowest part of the stem, towards the pot. And the LST in the opposite direction if that makes sense? So basically two ties, in opposite directions, one at the base, and one at the top. I didn't end up doing that, but will do on the next one so she has a more uniform 'curve' over. Good luck, i'll be checking the progress :)
EDIT: Just checked your pics again, I think they are too tall and too far in to flower to LST now. Might be better for the next run. Don't think there will be much extra growth there now.
@live_canna, thanks friend! Checked out your Dark Devil Auto grow; very nice work I'm excited for your harvest!! And thank you for the advise--I may try a little bit of LST on one of the two Dark Devil's this week, TBD. Happy growing and smoking!
Looking nice, bro! We recommend you to use more water in the waterings, it seems you were using too little. Its always better to saturate the substrate and then, let it dry before the next watering.
I hope this helps you!
@Sweet_Seeds, I’ve noticed you guys regularly comment on diaries with your genetics. It’s nice to see how involved you are with your customers. Receiving advice straight from the breeder is almost unheard of. I’m excited to be testing out your genetics soon!
@@signalz420, thanks I appreciate it; your Dark Devil looks very healthy and robust - nice grow, beautiful canopy!! I'll be doing a second attempt shortly; trying to get plants that look like yours.
Super Nice - Main Cola is begging for the support! I have these going now as well! Moving along nicely My Friend! Great Progress with your Garden!
🙌🙌👏Please Check Out My Newest Diary's👏🙌🙌
@MrJones, you're absolutely right; I will try to get it some support. Your Dark Devil seedling is looking great; I will definitely be following along (and taking notes for my next grow, hah) as things progress. I will be sure to check out your other newest grows, too. Thanks for your comment!
@Sweet_Seeds, thanks for checking out the grow! I can't wait to get these ladies flowering; the first few weeks of veg are always so hard to wait for me! No plans on any training or topping here. Later on in flower, I am going to put one plant outside at night (and keep the other in tent) to see if it affects the coloring. But anyway, if you happen to see me screwing something up along the way here - please let me know :) I am very amenable to changing things up when needed. Thank you!!
