July-29th - Day 7 Started new grow - my first trial with an CBD - strain. THC <1 %, CBD 8-15 %. Zamnesia says, it will take 70 days from seed to harvest, or 8-10 weeks. Germinated the seed in wet tissues, mainroot came out of seed after 2 days, than moved to Jiffy-tab and after 2 days the seedling came out into the light.😀 Gave seedling for 1 day to an window without direct sunlight for light acclimation. Yesterday the seedling with Jiffy was planted into the 9 lt pot with soil and put it in the growtent. Led is now on for 18 hrs light/6 hrs dark. I'm awaiting harvest with middle/end of October. Hopefully all will run fine. Be well, stay safe! 😀😷

Aug - 5th - Day 14 Plant is in vegetation-stage now, because she has already developed the 2nd pair of grow-leaves. I'm watering with "More Roots" from GBL with every sprinkle. If i'm viewing the plant from above, it seems, that in the center of the leaves it looks like, that the plant gets a little bit yellow, but it's not clear now. Will see, how it will be in a few days. Will switch on the full-spectrum light on the LED in 2-3 days. All in all the plant is looking good. 😀 ==================================== Update -Aug-9th - Day 18 Switched on the Full-Spectral-LED light yesterday (3 of 4 LED-cluster are switched on now). Plant was under growth light for the past 10 days (1 of 4 LED cluster was on). Plant looks good, all is green😀

Aug-12th -Day 21 All looks ok, but i have 2 droopy leaves. Might be an sign of overwatering or nitrogen intoxictaion (found in growweedeasy.com). Because the soil is pre-fertilized for 12 weeks (described on the packaging), an nitrogen-toxication could be an logical explanation. Watered the plant 6 days ago, and it seems, it was little bit too much. Soil is not tried out since then. Propably will give water tomorrow, with more roots - nutrient. But all in all the plant looks like healthy. 😀 ======================== Aug-16th - Day25 Today i spotted first signs for preflowering - it will start soon with preflower😀 The plant is deep green, and i have clawing leaves. This means that it might be a little bit of nitrogen-intoxication, because of the pre-fertilized soil - as i wrote already above. I give no fertilizers exceptional "more roots". The new leaves do not claw so much anymore, as the first leaves did. So the intoxication should stop in the next days, otherwise i have other problems. Will see. But in summary the plant looks healthy.

Aug - 19th - Day 28 PREFLOWERING! 😀 The plant is growing very well, she has stretched 10cm in 1 week. Preflowering has started now, the plant shows clear signs, that she is an female. The clawing leaves and a little bit of nutrient-burn on 1 leaf is a sign, that she has a little bit too much of nitrogen. I didn't fertilize yet, because the soil is prefertilized for some weeks, so i do not need any grow-fertilizer. I will start with bloom- fertilizers when blooming has been started. Think bloom will start in approx. 1 week😀 Here‘s a link to best side for the very important check, if plant is an female or male: https://www.growweedeasy.com/preflowers Great side 😀

Aug-26th - Day 35 BLOOM !!! 😀😀😀 Plant has started with her Bloom 2-3 days ago. 😀 She's started with preflowering 1 week ago, and now we are in the Bloom ! 😀 Great.😀 I think that harvest will be approx. between Oct-20th and Nov-5th., it is 8-10 weeks from now. Plant looks pretty green, all looks fine, exceptional the downed edges of the leaves. Cannot be overwatering anymore, and also cannot be nutrient- intoxication anymore. I never added grow-fertilizers because the soil is prefertilized for 12 weeks (indicated on the package) I added only "More Roots" with the water, and yesterday i added "Humic Acid Plus" and the first "Organic Bloom Liquid". I will do little bit defoliation in the next days. Now i'm hoping that the buds are growing well. 😀 ======================= Aug-30th - Day 39 Yesterday i did the first step of defoliation. Removed leaves in the shadow on the bottom-side od the plant, and removed a few very tiny stems with micro-buds on them. 2nd and last defoliation-step will be in Blooming-week 3. All looks fine so far. On the top, the plant becomes little bit light green - maybe will give a cal/mg-nutrient with next watering.

Sep-2nd - Day 42 Today i did first LST-Training and tied down the main stem. Was 40cm high to the top before LST, is now only 35cm high after tying it down. Brown / bronze spots on some leaves are getting more. The pH value was too low - i know that - and the calc / mag deficit. Additional Fertilizer Cal / mag xtra is already added. Have to be carefull, that Ph value MUST be between 6-7. I'm watering with rainwater, and if i add the fertilizers, the ph goes below 5.6-5.8 . This is too low and so i will mix the rainwater with tap water (pH 7.4) with the next watering. But at the moment i don't be scary about these few brown patches. Otherwise everything looks fine. Starts to smell very easily now, and the plant looks in an healthy green😀 =========================== Sep 6th - Day 46 Some leaves turn yellow on the top. Even large leaves look like autumn is about to begin on the plant. On some flower buds there are already the first, partly brown, pistils. That would be way too early. So these signs seems again an water-pH problem. It was too low with last waterings. I have to be more carefully with the pH-value. Also the plant has very slowly grown for a few days.

Sep-9th - Day 49 We are in Blooming week 3. Have a few little problems because the leaves looks not in deep green since a few days, and all turns a little bit to yellow. This concerns to all leaves: the old leaves at the bottom and the new leaves at the top. So it cannot be nutrient defencies, and it seems, that this is no nutrient overload. My research showed, that this might be a magnesium defency, because of too low pH value with the water. This is exactly the problem i had with my last waterings - i used rainwater and after adding the fertilizers, the pH went down to 6 and 5.5 This is too low. I will use tap water with next watering now, where the pH is higher and i can add fertilizers, without downing the pH too much. Today i flushed the plant, just to correct the right pH-value in the soil. When i have finished the flush, the EC value of the drain was 0.6, in opposite to the beginning of the flush, when it was 1.2. The Buds are now growing noticeably, - after 1 week of rest and no growing since 1 week, it should now continue 😀😀 Smells pretty good too. Felt the right smell for the first time today. I will do a little defoliation in the next days, and then the buds should hopefully grow fine and big 😀 ====================== Sep-13th - Day 53 Doesn't look so good at the moment. Leaves all turn yellow - bottom and on the Top, new leaves at the top are partially affected too. Flushed few days ago and did it again today, to get further up with the drain pH. Rinsed with tap water (pH 7.3). First pH-value of drain was still pH 5.2. Rinsed until the drain pH was up to 6.1. Finally, I rinsed with an light fertilizer solution (according to scheme of blooming week #3). Let's see if she recovers. I'm afraid that soil has been completely washed out now... Today I did the last bit of defoliation. The plant should now slowly calm down so that the buds can grow well for the remaining 5-8 weeks.

16-Sep - Day 56 The buds are growing better now than they were last week. However, all the leaves also turn yellow. Plant was flushed days ago, pH value in soil should now be ok. Plant also needs very little water. Rinsed 3 days ago, and I probably won't need to water again until the day after tomorrow. Trichomes are already clearly visible. I'm a little worried about getting the plant through because a lot of the leaves are yellow and light green. Also don't know exactly what the problem is - it was probably the wrong pH value when watering - pH was a little too low. I also bought a new PH meter now, because I'm afraid that the old one shows incorrect values. The upper leaves are partially yellow and the tips are brown. Overfertilization? The lower old leaves are also yellow and light green - under-fertilization? There are both signs - over-fertilization AND under-fertilization. There are probably several problems coming together ... Every single grow has his own problems...🤔

Sep-23rd - Day 63 Plant looks not so good - something went little bit wrong with this grow. It' my fault because i used a new soil which i never had before, and i wasn't enough carefully with ph-value of the water. Flushed the plant last week, to increase the ph value of the drain a little bit, but the plant doesn't show any signs that she feels better now. The yellowing of the plant happens more and more. Seems that harvest isn't far away anymore. The trichomes are pretty milky. Didn't see any amber trichomes so far. Today i gave nutrients again after. Will add nutrients now again with every watering, as the fertilzation-scheme says. I guess, that first part of harvest will be in 2-3 weeks - approx. 10th to 15th of october. I will do an partial harvest. Will cut the buds on the top first, and will let grow the lower buds for 1-2 weeks longer.

Sep-30th - Day 70 The buds are growing well and the upper buds have finished soon. The leaves transform to yellow furthermore, seems that flushing didn't help really. All looks as nutrient overdose, because the tips of the leaves are all burned - also the newer leaves on the top of the buds. Don't know how this has happened, i never gave too much fertilizers. Must be the prefertilized soil, which i never used before in my past grows. Next time i will use again the Biobizz light - i always was very glad with the Biobizz - soil. Otherwise the buds at the bottom - which are in the shadows - are pretty green and have no burned leave-edges. Have checked the trichomes and pistils of the buds: 90-95 % of the pistils are brown now. The trichomes are approx. 70% milky. I think that the first amber trichomes will be visible in the next days. Will start to flush the plant in the next 3 days. In 1-2 weeks i will do the first partial- harvest. The amount of trichomes is very good, the smell is good too, it smells very fruity and like citrus.😀 Summary: Although the leaves exchanged to yellow very soon, this will be an good CBD-grass 😀

Oct-7th - Day 77 The last 2-3 weeks of living has been started for the plant. I'm preparing for harvest now. I'm checking the trichomes with the microscope every day, and i have stopped the fertilization since approx. 1 week. I am watering the plant once per week and with next water, i will do the first flush - it will be in approx. 2 days. Every day i'm plucking off the yellow leaves, which are crispy and completed withered. The little buds below the upper buds are pretty green, so i will do an partial harvest first with the upper buds only, and the lower buds i will harvest with an 2nd session. The trichomes are approx. 70% milky rest of the trichomes are clear. I could'nt discover any amber trichomes yet, but it will be in the next days, i think. I guess i will have an dry outcome of 30-40g - we will see... The buds are looking good, although i had an problem with the yellowing leaves very early. Might be that i will harvest the 1st part in 1 week, let's see 😎 ======================= Update Oct-11th - Day 81 Spotted a few amber trichomes through the microscope today. The plant is showing, that she is finished with the buds😀 Will stay at my schedule for harvest: 2nd flush in 2-3 days (did already an 1st flush 2 days ago). Will do an partial-harvest in 5 or 6 days. 2nd and last part of harvest will happen 6-7 days later. So we are in harvest feeling now😀😁

Oct-14th - Day 84 - Preparing for Harvest!😀 The buds are growing well and they‘re getting fat and hard. The whole plant looks, as she is ready for harvest, but i will wait a few more days, because the trichomes have not finished yet. In the microscope i can see approx. 70-80% milky trichomes, rest is clear. Amber trichomes are a few, but not many - maximum 5 %. I'm always waiting till i have 10-20% iin amber colour, but this grow takes a little longer - it seems. I must do the harvest within next week, because i'm not at home the week after next week. In the week when i'm away, i will dry the buds than. I will do the 1st partial-harvest in 3-4 days i think, and the 2nd partial harvest will be in 1 week. Have flushed the plant very well yesterday - so flushing should be finished now. Will give water once more with beginning next week, that will be the last watering. The smell is very good, and the plant looks better now, after i plucked off the burned and withered leaves. It might be an overfertilization what has happened - because i used a new kind of soil which seems, that it was too much prefertilized. Never mind - this will be an good medical CBD-stuff.😀 I dried already a few sugar-leaves wih my vaporizer - it was very pleasant. 😀An very relaxing feeling started after 15 minutes, together with an very subtile head-high. Very comfortable feeling 😀😀😀 I'm looking forward to consuming my first grow with an CBD-strain. 😀 ============================================================== Update Oct-19th - Day 89 I decided now, not to do an partial harvest as announced in the past week, because i think it makes no sense, to do an harvest with only a few littke buds remaining on the plant. I will harvest the whole plant with end of this week. Checked the trichomes, it happened a very little colour-change only in the last 3-5 days. Amber trichomes doesn‘t get more, and i think the plant has finished now an is very ready for harvest. I will add a new update in 2 days.😀

Oct-21st - Day 91 This is the last week with flowering. The plant will be harvested in 2 days from today. Have decided, that i will do no partial harvest, because there are not so many buds remaining for an 2nd harvest. So i will cut the whole plant in 2 days. Than i will dry the whole plant for 3-4 days, than i will trim the buds and dry them again for 3-5 days. The uploaded photos for this week are the last photos, where we can see the living plant. The LED-light is already switched off now when i'm writing this, and the plant will stay in the dark now for approx. 48 hrs. Have flushed the plant again yesterday. So i did 3 flushings in summary. Ec value of last drain was 0. Ph value of last drain was 6.8. Trichomes: most of them are milky, i guess there are approx. 70-80% milky, rest is clear and amber trichomes are not so many - maximum approx. 5 %. But this should be enough for an good effect. I guess the dry yield will be approx. 30 grams - the buds are not too big, but they are very solid. I had very early problems with yellow leaves, but today i believe it was an over fertilization done by me. I used a new kind of soil which was heavy prefertilized which i didn't know. But therefore the buds have developed very fine😀 So i am very looking forward for the harvest in a few days. 😀😀😀

Oct-28th The plant stayed in darkness for 48 hrs, than i cutted off the plant at Oct-23th, this was Day 93. Hung up the whole plant for first step of drying for 5 days. Yesterday, Oct-28th i cutted off the branches with the buds and trimed the buds. The trimed buds are now hanging again for the 2nd step of drying - expected approx. 5 days, than they will come into the jars for curing-process for 3 months. After 5 days dry-process the weight of the trimed buds with branched is 62 grams now. Usually the weight will decrease 1:5 after drying process has bern finished. For example if i have 100 grams wet, i will have 20 grams dried and fully trimed buds. As the plant was already dried for 5 days, i expect an dry weight now of approx. 20 grams. Have tested scissors hash yet, and i am very satiefied with the effect. It decreases my pain and i am very effective. The taste is great. I will updated this site, if i have an effective end-weight in approx. 5 days, and will update further during the curing process. Thanks a lot for following my diary, commenting it and giving me all the likes!😀😀😀 =============================== Update - Nov-2nd The buds dried for 5 days, today i did the trim, so this was a "dry trim". Filled up the jars with the trimed buds, and i got 3 jars full. 😀 The scales shows 41,35 grams in summary. I will lose a little bit during curing process, so the end-weight might be approx. 40 grams. That's the last update now for this diary and i say goodbye for a short time and thank you all for following me, reading my diary and give me all the comments and likes.😀😀😀 Bye!

Are you supplementing with a cal/mag nutrient?
DaveG
DaveGcommented4 years ago
@Tango_Hotel_Charlie, Yes i did add „cal/mag Xtra“, 1-2 weeks ago, but than I stopped it. It downed my ph-value of the sprinkle-water too much, and it didn‘t help. The leaves became more yellow. In my past grows, i sometimes had the problem, that the plant became little bit yellow when the flowering started. With adding cal/mag Xtra i always could solve this problem. This time it did‘nt help. Have flushed again today with pure water and ph 7, just to be sure that ph-value of drain will rise. I will see the next days, if it has helped. If it did not, it might be under-fertilization. Otherwise, the buds are growing, so i‘m not too scary. Hemp is so strong.😉 Thank you very much for the hint! 😀👍👍
