48x48x84 tent
Fox farm strawberry fields potting mix
2 CO2 boost bags
Temp, humidity both started off on the higher side early in the week (85°F, 82% - peak)
All 8 sweetberry Cough auto germinated successfully
2 of 8 cheese auto failed to germinate. New seeds were inserted.
The 2 pots that had not germinated last week have sprouted.
Moved to a citric acid based soil conditioner to hopefully bring PH into mid-6s before flowering initiates.
Temps are staying steady just below 80°F.
Appears to be a really nice start.
So we topped 4 of each strain - typically the 4 best growing.
Struggling mightily to get the PH down to an acceptable level (6.3ish)
Without question the Sweetberries are unquestionably off to a better start.
Not to say the cheese isn't up to par- they're doing great too, but Cheese 2C had to be replaced (and now flourishes) a week behind the others and Cheese 2A has been resurrected from seedling hell, so we're not sure what to expect from it..
All plants were topped except for the runt. Eliminated the fan, and now they are reaching much better than before. Started silica treatment which will be given again on Sunday and Wednesday of next week. Let's pray things continue on the same trajectory.
Strong growth, filling out the screen quite nicely. Added dehumidifier to stabilize humidity between 40-70%, with a daily average of 55-65% depending on if I have watered them that day.
The runt and the young one have yet to make it through the screen, but I am afraid the canopy of the others will shade out their less fortunate sisters. Will trim undergrowth sometime this week to allow for maximum light penetration.
Pruned everything below the netting. Light nute burn at the tips. Believed to be a Nitrogen and Potassium excess, and phosphorus + micro nutrient deficiency. Very mild evidence of stress characterized by white tips, few clawed leaves. We're now watering every other day. Added a 3rd CO2 boost bag and mini fan set to high. Lowered the lights to 26 inches above tallest plant. Will apply second layer of netting this week for support bud support.
Cheese still hasn't started forming buds. Will shift to 12/12 cycle this week. Outside of that, more of the same amazing growth. Mostly horizontal but on average about 4 inches of vertical growth.
Funny story.. after 8 weeks of growth I realized I ordered the photo period version of cheese instead of Autos. Such is life. The largest cheese grew tall enough to touch the light, so we cut roughly 12-18 inches from each main stalk, raised the light to the roof, and flipped the lights back to 12/12 light cycle on Tuesday.
Sweetberry Cough is filling in wonderfully and looks to possibly be ready in 10-14 days. There are 2 runts among cheese and 1 among sweetberry, although a 2nd sweetberry is significantly behind the others as far as maturity goes.
They're quite photogenic, eh? Week 1 of the swell. Killed 4 plants in total. Not so coincidentally it was 3 corner plants and 1 the runt. Now the tent is spacious enough to work. Removed netting on sweetberry side
Sweetberries are doing amazing. The fragrance is true to its name. It is a creamy berry fuely smell. For weeks I could only smell a light fragrance when I brushed against the stalk but it's now fairly noticeable when near the tent. Not quite overwhelming in any sense. They are taking much longer than anticipated but I'll be ready when they are.
Cheese recieved a nice cut early in the week but of course recover incredibly fast the light. Im hoping they dont stretch too much before I can harvest the autos in about 10 to 14 days. Then I could spread them out and train/trim as neccessary.
Only ph appropriate water for sweetberry but cheese got the full nute application. Only water with nutes once. Reducing air flow this week. Cut lights back to 10.5 hours to finish autos and make more room for cheese.
The Sweetberry have swollen a lot and are very fragrant. The aroma is quite pleasant. There is nothing 'dank' about it. It smells like some sweet blueberries or blackberries. I personally like it a lot. The trichromes are still immature but look to harvest in about a weeks time. The late bloomer may prove to be the best of them all as she is nearly as tall as the cheese.
The cheese have packed on the weight and they are approaching the halfway point. They have great trichrome coverage and density. To be so young in the flowering stage, it appears to be a suitable strain for hash. Very cheesey skunky smell. I can't wait until the flowers have developed. I have high expectations for it.
Harvested all but the late bloomer of the Sweetberries. Came out to be just over 3lbs wet so I am expecting around a half pound dry weight. Noticing a very minty smell in the drying room that wasn't noticed while they grew. The strain has a wonderful aroma but took 90 days from seed. Had minor issues toward the end dealing with mold. Never seen any spores or build up. We removed all contaminated leaves once on Tuesday and then saw spots again on Friday so we cut on Sunday.
Harvested all but 1 auto and made tons of room for the cheese. Definitely helping a lot as I see my cheeses aren't as beautiful when the are spread out to be examined. They still have a month to go so let's pray for a great few final weeks.
Nothing special this week. They aren't taking up much water, which I attributed to the coldness of the floor. I water with relatively warm water to give them an ever so brief moment of warmth at the root. Looking to harvest cheese in about 2 weeks. Getting some really nice purple hues in a few plants. The smell is pungent and sweet. Fruity in some ways too.
Last week of the swell. You could see where they've began to harden. The smell is best described as 'electric'. Super heavy buds, the stems often break if I'm too aggressive moving them around. Should be ready for harvest in about 10 days
Nice finish to an enjoyable grow. Looking to harvest tomorrow [11/12]. One pheno is very purple similar shade as red cabbage. Overall a very frosty strain. Flushed with 100% tap water with a pH of about 9.5. They are drinking only about a quart of water daily.
